Minnesota Lynx History

The Minnesota Lynx are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Lynx joined the WNBA as an expansion team in 1999 and have since become one of the league's most successful franchises, winning four WNBA championships in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. Along with their league-best four titles, the Lynx have set multiple WNBA records including largest margin of victory in a single game (59 points), most rebounds both in a season and all-time by 2017 MVP Sylvia Fowles and most wins in both regular season and playoff history by three-time WNBA Coach of the Year Cheryl Reeve, who began leading the team in 2010. The Lynx have retired the jersey numbers for Fowles, Lindsay Whalen, Rebekkah Brunson and Seimone Augustus, with plans to retire 2014 WNBA MVP Maya Moore’s No. 23 during the 2024 regular season.
