Moncton Wildcats Live
When the 2018-19 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) season kicked off, the Moncton Wildcats unveiled their brand-new $113 million home in the Avenir Centre. They set a QMJHL attendance record with a sold-out crowd of 8,800 fans in the home opener against the Saint John Sea Dogs and won the game 5-2.
Delivering on big aspirations seems to be a recurring theme for the Wildcats, who already are near the top of the league standings in their new facility. With wingers Jeremy McKenna and Jakob Pelletier leading the way along with starting goalie Francis Leclerc, Coach Darren Rumble's team is the hottest ticket on Canada's East Coast.
The Wildcats offer flex packs of 10, 20, or 36 games, starting at less than $16 a ticket. In the new arena, there also are two party suites with stellar views of the four-panel screen display above the playing rink, as well as private entrances and access to the Lounsbury Club Lounge.
Avenir Centre is a stone's throw from the Moncton rail line, and there's plenty to do in the arena's outdoor plaza, with a bandstand, another ice rink, a park, and a lounging gazebo all nearby.
Moncton Wildcats Background
Founded in 1995, the Moncton Wildcats existed as the Moncton Alpines for a single season before owner Robert Irving took over the team in 1996 and helped guide them to QMJHL prominence. Winning championships in 2006 and 2010, the Wildcats have had their share of NHL stars before they made it big, headlined by Corey Crawford, the two-time Stanley Cup champion goalie of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Count NHL All-Stars Brad Marchand and Keith Yandle as Moncton alumni, as well as Norris Trophy finalist Francois Beauchemin. Coaches Ted Nolan and John Torchetti both had stints with Moncton before heading to the NHL. When not holding Wildcats games, Avenir Centre is a multipurpose event facility hosting Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group, in addition to Canadian artists new and old like Metric and Bryan Adams.

Very exciting game. It seemed one of those game where thing didn't go quite the way the Cat would have liked. Close game kept us on the edge of our seats. Although the out come wasn't what I had hoped for it was a good experience.
Great building, so easy to navigate and get to our seats. No long waits for the bathroom or for snacks or drinks. Everything was clean.
Hockey game was ok, long introductions before anthem and puck drop, arena can be extremely loud with screaming, yelling and loud music.
A great fun, inclusive, accessible and exciting experience for the whole family! Staff are always so friendly and happy.
Attended the Wildcats vs Seadogs on December 30th/2023. Arena was not to packed and was easy to navigate. Food prices are expensive would recommend eating before the event to save your pocket book. It was a great event but thinks can be improved on like constant checking supplies in washrooms. This time I did not smell dirty grease from the food outlets Wich is a plus noone wants to smell that.
Great hockey, good food , efficient service , overall good event
It would be nice if multiple tickets for a single event could be scanned from one single screen on the app, instead of having to open each ticket to have the code scanned. It really slows down the lines at the venue.
It was our first game of this season . We were treated with respect and an upgrade by Issac who helped us with our electronic passcode that wasn't working properly. What a great evening. We will certainly come more often
What a great night. The center really put on a show. Interactive light show, $10000 + 50/50 draw, and tons of giveaways. Only down side is the lack of parking downtown.
Got tickets to watch a jersey retirement ceremony but we couldn't watch any of it because there was a blow up cat in the way the whole time. It would be nice if they would think of the fans spending their money on games when they plan an event.
Loved the place, as they sure know how to entertain the crowd in between the periods, and even during, plus some folks saw themselves on the big screen. The only negative thing I have to say is that right after the show was over and we were on the main floor just chatting while waiting for family (about 50 of us) to all get together for a photo shot with one of the players and the guy came over to us and said "we are shutting down, so you all have to leave". We had only been there maybe 5 minutes, so he could have waited another 10 minutes, but he wouldn't, although the place was still packed. Don't know why he was focused on us, but do not think we will be back. We will just wait to watch another hockey game elsewhere.
Our family really enjoys going to games. We always have a fun and exciting time at the wildcat games. Highly recommend to hockey lovers and families. Looking for a fun evening.
When I bought my tickets for the recent season opener for the Wildcats, there was no place for me to request wheelchair seating.....so I went ahead and purchased tickets for the seats immediately below the wheelchair spot I wanted to sit at. During the game we(my husband, son & myself in my wheelchair) were asked to move as we were in a seat belonging to someone else, on the wheelchair strip. I attend 3-5 games/season and had issues each time. Pls make it easier /clearer to book wheelchair seats for us. Otherwise, the game was great even though we lost, they played hard.....was good to see them back out on the ice again....Go Cats!
The Avenir Centre is the best, Great staff, Good food, little bit pricey but I don’t mind at all. Tickets are always easy to buy and since I live in Moncton I will sometimes go to the wildcats game to watch them play which is amazing! So I rate this 10/10 experience.
I loved evreything about the event and Avenir Center! The food / drinks can be a bit pricey and some vendors can only use cash. There's ATMs on-site to fix this issue. Overhaul Wildcats did not win Thu or Weds but had a great time with some friends! Even made new ones! No issues here! Just fun! GO CATS GO!
Very poor game! No action at all! Very desapointed
This was our second time we attended hockey game. We liked them and we intend to see other games.
Great game! Glad Wildcats came out with the win in game 7! Although Baie Comeau played extremely well also.
