  • Monster Jam was brutal

by kmaldred on 2012-02-16Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

I can't believe I went to see this show. I was expecting to see better drivers at this event instead we got to meet low end people that drive for the SMALLER circuit. I want to see the drivers we see on television not just anybody. Its like buying tickets to see a band and when you get there its just a cover band because the actual band only plays big events. Total crap

I've been to monster truck shows held at Rexall in the past and this one did not compair to the excitement of the others. I understand that there are limitations to what the trucks are able to do in the small area but the whole show in general was below average. Sorry my 10 and 12 year old kids were not impressed either.

  • Monster Trucks were cool

by TheCrapos on 2012-02-15Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

It was awesome to meet the drivers and see the trucks up close. However, i found the track a little small. it would have been nicer to see the stuff that happens on Monster Jam, instead of a small version of it,

  • Monster mutt is a monster influence!

by Twinmomma on 2012-02-14Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Took my 5 year old twins (boy & girl) away for the weekend, spent the extra few dollars on Pitt Pass for them and WOW! All the drivers were pretty great w the kids, took pictures ect. Driver for Monster Mutt Rottweiler was one of the nicest men I have met in a long time. Put on quite a performance when meeting the kids and really made them feel like he was happy to spend a moment w them. They are "barking" fans for life as am I for being such a great guy! As for the show... It was great, son was shaking in excitement and we all were impressed w the skill involved! A must see!!

  • Always a great time!!!

    by Luna141 on 2012-02-14Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It is almost impossible not to have an awesome time! a reason to yell at the top of your lungs at huge trucks doing tricks and destroying themselves... your be crazy not to go!

  • maple Leaf Monstwer Jam Tour was pretty lame.

by Skunkfeet on 2012-02-14Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

Only five trucks, one of which (Western Renegade) was not up to any decent standard. Too much time filler including the same old lame quad races. The pit pass fee of $11 per person was highway robbery. No bathrooms were accessible during this event. Our grandson had to go to the bathroom and my wife was told that if she took him out of the pit area and up to the concourse to use a bathroom, she could not return to the pit area. We will never again pay to attend the pit party as it was the biggest ripoff in the history of Northlands (even worse than the absurd fifteen dollar parking charge and rediculous food prices). The only redeeming factor of the whole event was Charles Benns, the driver of Monster Mutt. He was terrific. A great ambassador of the sport and his team. He and his victory were the reason our grankids went home happy. Two MM T-shirts and stuffys were a testament to that.

this is the 3rd time weve gone. every year it is pretty much the same. i guess with a limited amount of room those big trucks cant do too much. i think they should find a bigger place to host this event. good effort though.

  • Monster Jam: Definitely for the family

    by Tracer2008 on 2012-02-13Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

Rexall was just to small for these monster trucks to reach even half potential, would be a great event for the youngsters (6-14 years old) so they can get a taste of the monster truck thrill For guys my age, I'll be looking for an open field event in the upcoming summer monthes! I liked the side attractions (had a guy in a TNT box, and (drama-like?) quad racers) but overall it wasn't what I was expecting I'll take my younger cousins to see, but not for a guys night out That comes summer time

  • Monster Jam

The drivers are so appreciative of their fans....love it! Not like other sporting events where they could care less.

  • It's amazing

by RonnyW on 2012-02-13Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

amazing but too noisy that Monster truck's engine is beast , try take a headphone

  • by Anonymous on 2012-02-13Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

I have taken my grandson for a few years now, and this year, simply put, was boring. It is really quite a small place to hold this event. There were many "dead spots" littered through-out the show. Where did the RC racers go? There could have been a number of mini performances like that again. The quad race was good; good friendly rivalry with the U.S. After watching the monster truck events on TV, this event is really a bit anti-climactic. Good luck with next year's show. Trev

  • monster jam was great but the venue sucks

by mikos on 2012-02-13Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

monster jam was great my kids were enthralled through the whole show the venue on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired starting with $15 to park then $8 for a beer and ending with $6 for a small popcorn when i go to shows in calgary its way cheaper for everything rexall place will not be getting any of my hard earned money anytime soon i hope they get the new arena in edmonton soon so northlands can go out business soon i know that they are the reason the oilers want a new rink so the fans do not keep getting gouged by northlands entertainment

  • Not what I expected!

by Parkerlovesmj on 2012-02-13Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Definitly not like the monster jam shows you see on tv! There is very little space in a hockey arena so the trucks cannot do much (they spend more time backing up and getting into position then anything else) There was only 5 different trucks and the entire show including intermission only lasted and hour and three quarters. Overall my kids loved it because all they want to see is the trucks so I felt it was worth it for that reason alone but I was disappointed.

  • Awesome

by bfrostd on 2012-02-13Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

it was alot of fun. kids loved it. i would go again. would have liked to see dirt bike jumps maybe next time.

  • by Anonymous on 2012-02-13Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

The venue at Rexall Place is to small to host any event like Monster Jam. It isn't large enough for the Monster Trucks to race around in. The only true thing to do is just Jumps and Wheelies. This event would be Great at a bigger Venue. For the Kids, Size wise, they don't care. Pocket book, Need to change the location of this event. then you would get a better bang for the buck.

  • Slipping every year...

by BullyDawg on 2012-02-13Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

This was our 4th year in a row in attendance. The show seems to be getting weaker every year. The crowd really isnt in to it. Quad wars is just completely lame, and it seems the drivers of the trucks are scared to scratch their paint. ITS PLASTIC!! Rexall place is just too small for the event. LOWER TICKET PRICES AND FILL THE SEATS.
