  • Great show!

by Zanfib on 2012-12-10Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The venue is a great place to hear music, so I was a little disappointed the bass was mixed in so heavily. Hannah Georgas (decent if not standout music) was a muddled mess of way too much bass. This isn't a dubstep concert I am attending, I wanted to hear the vocals and guitar nice and clear. Mother, Mother was better, but still a bit bass heavy. At least the overall volume level was perfect, no ear plugs needed (good, ear plugs would have exacerbated the bass vs. treble problem). The band was amazing, great stage presence, perfect vocal delivery and some pretty decent guitar solos. I particularly appreciate the acoustic work, those songs were beautiful and clean. The set list was perfect, a great selection from every album except "Touch Up", which was under-represented. This didn't bother me too much as I appreciate Mother Mother's more recent, more mature work far more than that initial album.

  • Mother Mother was spectacular!

by Anonymous on 2012-12-10Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

What a phenomenal show! Hannah Georgas was an exceptionally well sounding opening act. Mother Mother puts on a lively, energetic show and you get the feeling that they're just having the time of their lives. All around excellent. The reason behind the four and not five stars, was because it was a bit weird for Hannah Georgas' type of music (slow, soulful) to open for such a loud rock show. However both performances were amazing!

  • Great shows

Mother Mother always puts on a show they are so much fun. I love the new album and find them so full of energy I leave feeling as though they are my friends.

I really like their music but this concert made me love it. I had no idea how they could rock up every song but they pulled off an amazing show and the opener was fantastic.

  • Wicked Performance!!!

They put on a wicked show from start to finish! Loved every minute of it! Hannah Georgas was an awesome choice for an opener. She was unforgettable! Highly recommend seeing either band live!

  • by SCNN on 2012-12-09Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Ive seen lots of bands in the past play live music but mother mother exceeds them all with their amazingly uniqe sound and outstanding performance. Think of it this way, ive seen nickelback more than once in concert. Theyre a lot like Mcdonalds, ya they are ok and they fill you up but they are always the same. Mother Mother is like a 7 course meal every taste is totally unique, the presentation is perfect and you leave completely satisfied!! I will recommend Mother Mother to anyone!

  • Mother Mother made me scream like a little girl

by Aimyaa on 2012-12-09Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

The band was tight, they were very energetic, they could've connected with the crowd a little more, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Their entrance was suspenseful, fog filled the stage and lights played through it as they started singing and took the stage. They continued to rock it throughout the show, and transitioned into the next song very well. They definitely went out with a bang, playing some of their new hits that everyone seemed to know the words to. You could not see one butt not being danced off. I would definitely go see them again. Next time I hope they get a better venue, they deserve it.

Hannah Georgas has killer pipes and soulful passion in her songs she has added so much to the Mother Mother experience! Mother Mother themselves were extraordinary and a site to see. If you are near a show of their GO!!

  • Best concert I've ever been to!

    by 11butleje on 2012-12-07Burton Cummings - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

AMAZING! Such a great show! Seeing as they have such great songs, it's inevitable that they would put on a great show. So much fun. Also, after the concert when they signed autographs was so cool of them. In addition, they stood up for their fans when security was trying to make them leave which I thought was even cooler! It was great night, one I'll be telling everybody about and one I will never forget!!

  • Mother Mother is starting to make some money money

by ShirleyShirls on 2012-12-07The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

I first time I saw Mother Mother was at Louis' Pub in Saskatoon and this show at the Odeon was a much better venue. The band also took their performance to the next level with an amazing light show, which is a great investment made by the band. Another change to their performance was that the band played somewhat seamlessly from one song to another. Although they have a bit of work to do to tighten these transitions to the same level as their songs, I enjoyed them - the depth they added to the show and the excitement they created as to what song they were breaking in to next. Overall, it was a great show and I look forward to seeing them again.

by BellaM on 2012-12-06Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Mother Mother has great energy, tight harmonies, and lyrics that make you wonder something new with each listen. They are a versatile band that experiments with their sound, and are really amazing live. Lots of strobe lights and other effects - very enjoyable!

Waited over 3 years to see Mother Mother live, and it was worth the wait. The band played all my favourite songs from all their albums (and exceptionally well at that) and the guitar solos Ryan added in were perfect. Even though the concert was about 20-25 minutes behind schedule, they played a full set and left me satisfied. Afterward they signed autographs, which is completely unheard of nowadays, but is the reason I loved this concert so much. While going through the autograph line, we were told that if we waited till the end we could get a picture with the whole band. But when we went to stand off to the side to wait, we were told by security we had to leave. Being the huge fans that we are, my friend and I waited in the lobby, JUST in case something changed. And it did: Ryan came out to make sure we were still there for our picture(s). And despite security bucking it yet again, saying the band would be charged if they went ahead with these pictures, Ryan pushed for it and we got our pictures. So not only did we get a stellar show, but we got an awesome picture with one of my top bands of all-time. It shows that Mother Mother understands the power of word-of-mouth, because I will now tell anyone who will listen how Ryan stood up for his fans and made sure to deliver on what he promised. Class act all around!

  • Mother Mother owned it!!

by Durve on 2012-12-06Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent Excellent show. Mother Mother handles themselves like professionals, while engaging and interacting with the crowd as if it were casual. The tight knit atmosphere of the Burton Cummings Theater made this event sweet!!!

  • Mother Mother...is awesome

by moonraze on 2012-12-05Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Once again mother mother put on a GREAT show! Listening to them as well as watching them is pure bliss, not to mention when Ryan speaks to the crowd between songs his choice of words is so overwhelmingly delicious that it's impossible to get enough. Hannah Georgas was also amazing!

  • Brilliant

I've seen MotherMother numerous times, and this was one of the best ever!! The new CD, the Sticks, live is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. My friend and I were front row center, and as always, I am amazed by what a guitar aficionado Ryan is. Ali's drum skills really shine with the new CD - noticeable how precisely perfectly the percussion complements the music. The set list blew me away - thanks for playing Verbatim guys! But more importantly, I really noticed the transitions between songs - they were just so orchestrated to flow together. Ryan, Molly, Jasmin, Ali, Jeremy - thank you for what you do and a great nite out !! thanks for the wave Jasmin - that meant a lot ... til we meet again
