MOTLEY CRUE IN CONCERT:

After more than three decades of headbanging, heavy metal bad boys Motley Crue announced that 2015’s The Final Tour would be their last ever, giving fans one final opportunity to see Tommy Lee and company in the flesh before the curtain falls for good. The band has always been a revered live act for their showmanship and over-the-top performances, but their 2013 shows were their biggest and fieriest yet, featuring pyrotechnics beyond fans’ wildest dreams – including the late Nikki Sixx’s legendary flamethrower bass. With 72 North American dates in 2014 and international dates to follow, the Crue are doing it big in true form, burning bright to the very last guitar solo.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in LA in 1981 by guitarist Nikki Six and drummer Tommy Lee, Motley Crue was quickly rounded out with the addition of lead guitarist Mick Mars and singer Vince Neil. The band became notorious in the early ‘80s for their glam image and hard partying lifestyle, but it was 1983 sophomore album Shout at the Devil that made them international superstars. 1985’s Theatre of Pain and 1987’s Girls, Girls, Girls would prove even more successful, spawning ‘80s hard rock staples like “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and “Home Sweet Home.” With 100 million albums sold worldwide, Motley Crue endures as one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time, making their 2014 farewell tour a bittersweet last hurrah for their legions of fans.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Motley Crue still rules the rock scene after 30+ years of recording and performing. They played songs from virtually all albums and song selection was sure to please any Motley fan.”

“Motley ALWAYS delivers an amazing show. Seeing the Crue doing what they do best in Sin City couldn't have been any better. The pyro was over-the-top amazing.”

“This Motley Crue concert was the best Crue concert ever. The fire and pyros were awesome. They really outdid themselves. They sounded great too.”

Poor sound stacks and not enough merch vendors

by Brett millat on 2022-09-11Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The sound was terrible for all bands. The sound speaker stacks were weak at venue. I saw metallica same venue and night and day difference. Also waiting 3 hours plus for a t shirt is bs. Having 3 merch tables for 60,000 people is poor planning. Should be cash only to avoid machine delays and pincodes etc.

    Amazing Concert!

by Sunny on 2022-09-11Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Amazing Concert! All my favorite bands in 1 building was a dream come true! Where the star was lost is the venue. Commonwealth stadium could have run things a bit smoother. It was very hard to know what line up you were in (ie. Merch, food, alcohol, bag check, non bag check, charity merch exc.). It was a very hot day and waiting in the wrong line was a bit of a nightmare when your trying to get hydrated but you in the wrong lineup. No staff cared about smoking in non designated areas (both cigarettes, marijuana or vape pens). No staff cared about closed areas in on the party deck but gosh forbid if you were trying to get water or drinks from the kiosks from the floor area. Security people & venue staff was very rude. I saw nothing about clear bags and I got YELLED AT by security when I politely said I didn't see anything anywhere and appologized. There were signs but only right by the enterance after you waited in line for hours. However, they were letting other people in with non clear purses that were larger than mine, which was wallet sized.

Pretty good except for motley crue

by Trev on 2022-09-11Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The opening act, Joan Jett, poison and def Leppard were really good. Motley crue sucked. Vince can't sing. They had to rely of the three girls on stage to sing for him.

    Figure Your Shit OUT!

by AvidConcertGoer on 2022-09-10Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

If the multiple Garth Brooks shows did not teach the Edmonton Stadium anything there is no hope! I don’t ever recall these ridiculous line ups at AC/DC and I am certain people forgot their kindergarten manner through lockdowns. 1. Why did the floor bar only have beer and twisted tea? Not only that, pouring everything in cups slowed down the line. 2. Rude people cutting in line at merch. Honestly people get a grip. 3. Running out of water on a +30 day. 4. Joan Jett, Poison & Def Leppard were amazing! but what happened to Motley Crue? Vince Neil actually sounded terrible (They have put on good shows before at smaller venues and were amazing, this one, not so much).

Sound from where we sat was awful

by Disappointed on 2022-09-10Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The show was great, but the sound from section DD was AWFUL! Echoed, muffled, could not understand a word the artists were saying or singing. It was a family outing for us and we were extremely disappointed. Other people in our section actually got up and left. We had friends that sat on the other side of the stadium say their sound was amazing! I did complain but nothing was done about it. We made the best of it and still grateful for a family outing. Just super sad we weren’t able to hear very well.

    Not the best experience

by Eddy on 2022-09-10Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

First off, the city of Edmonton sucks! We missed Joan Jett because we had to wait an hour to get a taxi to the stadium. 30 minute line ups for warm beer added to the frustration. Poison and Def Leppard ROCKED! Mötley Crüe sounded good and put on a good show, but Vince Neil is pooched. Like he really sucks. This was all followed up by no cabs available after the show, resulting in a transit ride and a 4km walk to our hotel. It was a bit of a bust, and I won’t be heading back to Edmonton any time soon.

    Bad gate opening choice.

by Juice Boy on 2022-09-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Opening the main gates 30 minutes before the show to get over 45,000 people thru security and doors was a bad idea. Wife missed Joan Jett. Very disappointed!!

Sound was off. Motley Crue sounded terrible.

by Disappointed on 2022-09-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Sounded terrible. The previous 3 bands were great but Motley Crue was very off. Not sure if it was a speaker issue or singer issue.

    The Crüe

by Pete on 2022-09-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

So I went to 2 Mötley Crüe shows here is my review for the one at BC place in Vancouver . Let’s start at the entrance , I had the wild side vip pack so entry was super fast staff were incredibly friendly. The concourse Booths and there were a ton of them were well managed lineups were fairly quick . My only complaint was the wild side package I didn’t receive what was promised in the package (no autograph , meet and greet was a quick walk through the hi/by type ). I’ve been a motley fan for ever and was so disappointed with the meet and greet portion as the package was very expensive 5000$ Canadian. They could have had a few min per fan as there were only like 12 of us wildsiders there !!!!! As for the Edmonton show the facility was great lots of places to get wobbly beverages the Majour downfall was the tshirt stands were either short staffed or it was managed horribly . It took over 2 hours to get some merch amd there were only a few stands for that .

    Brutal Stadium experience

by TG on 2022-09-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Overall the experience at Commonwealth was absolutely brutal. Over an hour to get into the stadium with lines around the block. Merchandise lines were atrocious with no rhyme or reason and no staff willing to help with the fiasco. Food lines were the same. Bathrooms ran out of toilet paper and were filthy. The stadium which holds 50,000 people is in no way, shape or form able to handle this many fans with the infrastructure currently in place. I will not be attending any events at this venue if there is anticipated crowds like the concert had. The bands/concert itself was amazing!

Loved the Concert, Continue to Hate the Stadium

    by D. R. on 2022-09-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

This was an epic concert, prompting my 17-year-old son to say it was "the best 7 hours of my life!" afterward. Musically, it is easy to agree. However, Commonwealth Stadium continues to have me scratching my head with how disorganized and poorly run it is. Not opening the doors until 25 minutes prior to start time is unusual. Get the people in buying snacks and merchandise early. Have bums in seats before the music starts. The concourse is an overcrowded cluster, where a human disaster is just waiting to happen. Lines for concessions completely block walkways. The crush to get into lines results in angry people, spilled drinks, and impatience. I witnessed one young lady trying to serve 4 lines at once as people pushed and shoved to merge in front of her till. When I reached the counter I asked the gentleman serving me if he was aware that the woman was serving three times as many people as he was because of the lack of organization. He laughed and said she better be because she's saving for a trip, completely missing the point. Having attended one of the WC qualifiers in November, and now the Stadium Tour, it is no surprise that Edmonton will not be hosting matches in 2026. Commonwealth may be the biggest outdoor stadium in Canada, but it sure can't accommodate the world. In conclusion, I would attend the same concert again in a heartbeat; I just wish there was a better - run facility in which to do so.

    Stadium Concert - Edmonton

by Hhhhhh on 2022-09-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

This venue was unorganized. Why weren’t people told in advance that only clear bags were allowed? Then once we get in, we see people with normal bags not clear ones. Then in the email “ know before you go” they mention that credit card and debit is the preferred method of payment but we get in and it’s all cash only. The lines outside were so disorganized and lines were crossing through each other. Like wtf! Floor bathrooms, no toilet paper. Awesome

I'd give it 5 stars if Motley Crue weren't there

by Steak on 2022-09-09BC Place - Vancouver

Poison and Def Leppard killed it. Absolutely incredible performance. I was looking forward for Def Leppard, and they did NOT disappoint. Still rocking it after all these years, I feel truly lucky to have heard them live. Poison gave an equally great performance, and I loved the energy on stage. ..And then Motley Crue came on. Let's just say - I'm happy they were last, because I could just leave. The second I heard "Wild Side" I knew the concert was over for me. Vince gave me a headache. No disrespect, but sometimes you gotta admit you don't have what it takes anymore, and throw in the towel. No shame in that. Motley Crue were an amazing band back in the day, but the whole gig of strippers and visuals doesn't make up for the fact the lead singer can't sing anymore. Plus this whole charade of "hey, look, hot chicks!" is kinda old at this point. It was cool and edgy back in the 80s, now it just looks tacky and feels like they're trying too hard. That's too bad, because I was looking forward to their performance, but they ended up sounding like a bad joke after having Def Leppard on stage.

    Didn’t disappoint

by Rockin Gramma on 2022-09-08BC Place - Vancouver

Unfortunately we had car trouble and missed Joan Jett and Poison. I heard from all my friends that they rocked the house. Def Leppard was incredible. The sound was tight. Motley Crüe sounded great although Vince’s voice was way too high pitched. I feel that could have been turned down. It was so conjested on the concourse which really sucked. Also I wish people were allowed to go out and smoke, the cigarettes around me were disgusting. I can’t wait for the next Stadium Tour.

My son’s first Crüe show live

    by M. B. on 2022-09-08Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The sound quality was lacking compared to Def Leppard, Poison & Joan Jett. Still, always a fun show with many legendary songs to sing along with. I’ve seen the Crüe many times but don’t often hear Too Fast For Love so that was a nice little gem. My boy got a rise with Tommy Lee’s titty talk.

    stadium tour

by MamaK on 2022-09-08Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

just about died of heatstroke standing in the lineup to get in to the stadium, we were there well before the concert time start and still didnt get in until well after the start time...Joan Jett was boring, Poison was awesome, Def Leppard so so and Motley Crue was too much, too much talking, too much pole dancing, too much half naked women, too much fanfare....left before their set was even half done....went to get a beer just after Motley Crue started and had to watch two grown men literally fist fighting over the last beer the vendor had for sale...ya I'm too old for this shite, gonna stick to small venues from now on lol

We had an amazing time except the end

by Poison Fan on 2022-09-08BC Place - Vancouver

Every band was amazing and at the top of their game except Motley Crue. It was an unfortunate way to end the evening. Also the merchandise sold out quickly and the lineups were really long.

    A little disappointed 😔

by R,R on 2022-09-08Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that Def Leppard came across as the best sounding band on the stage that night in Edmonton Alberta Canada. It would’ve been nice that they where ONE of the best sounding bands on that stage. It was amazing to to be there and to see all of the bands but it would have been great to hear them all too! 😞
