About

Mumford & Sons have catapulted to stardom with their captivating mix of bluegrass, country and rock, enchanting audiences with their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies. The English folk rock band’s second album Babel was released in September 2012, debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and U.S. with the hit single “I Will Wait.” The album also took home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and in 2013 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band consists of Ted Dwane on vocals, string bass, drums, and guitar; Ben Lovett on vocals, keyboards, accordion, and drums; and Marcus Mumford on lead vocals, guitar, drums, and mandolin. They formed in late 2007 in West London, and put out two EPs in 2008, Love Your Ground and a self-titled effort. Those EPs garnered interest in the U.K. and the U.S. and led to opening slots on tour with Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn. Mumford & Sons’ debut studio album, Sigh No More, was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the U.S., peaking at No. 2 on both the U.K. Albums and Billboard 200 charts. The album sold over three million copies in the U.S. alone on the strength of hit singles “The Cave,” “Little Lion Man” and “Winter Winds.” They also earned two Grammy Award nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man,” and won the Brit Award in 2011 for Best British Album. A worldwide headlining tour followed with the likes of Fanfarlo and The Middle East. Mumford & Sons released their fifth studio album Rushmere on March 28, 2025, and will support it with their 2025 North American Tour that kicks off in June.

  • Mumford & Sons and a sunny day!!

    by CAP2 on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

The opening acts, Mystery Jets and Michael Kiwanuka were great additions to a fantastic main event. Mumford & Sons are a fantastic live band and I can't wait for them to come back to BC. Holland Park is a huge venue and the location was easy to get to, but the acoustics aren't the greatest for an outdoor venue; nowhere in comparison to say, the Gorge, or even Deer Lake Park. And then leaving?!? Holy! Try having 20,000 people trying to smush onto transit!

  • Mumford and Sons as good in person as on record!!

    by Melly88 on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Loved loved loved the venue and the sound was amazing! Mumford and Sons put on an amazing show! Sound, lights, and interaction with the crowd were all top notch!

  • Awesome Show

by makemineamac on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great show, at a unique venue and the band really gave it all. Sound and lights were very well done, and though we didn't get too close to the front, I'm sure those that were up there enjoyed the show even more. Hope they have more concerts there.

  • Incredible

Absolutely incredible show by Mumford & Sons. If you have the opportunity to see them -- go!

  • Mumford & Sons was amazing - the venue ok

by Anonymous on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 4 out of 5

Mumford & Sons delivered an amazing performance, but if it hadn't been for the screens, I wouldn't have seen anything. The venue was beautiful, but for a concert where everyone wanted to be up and dancing, it left a little something to be desired. I'd see the band again in a heartbeat, but I might not choose to go to another concert in Holland Park unless it was a smaller crowd

  • Awesome kickoff to summer!!!!

  • M&S = AMAZINGGGG

by Anonymous on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome, awesome concert!! Mumford and Sons are one of the few bands that sound just as good live as they do on track. If you have the opportunity, go and see them!!

  • Live vs. Recorded

by Jasinder on 2013-05-26Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Rarely is a live concert an opportunity to hear music that is better than listening on your home high end stereo in clear, hi-fi sound. Rarely...but this concert is the exception. Marcus Mumford and his band put on the single best show I've seen in 164 live events. Their music isn't for everyone, but the quality of voice, the sound and the mood created the best show yet. They actually sound better live, if you can believe it.

  • Mumford & Sons was epic!

Such a great outdoor venue & a great concert overall.

  • Best Birthday!!!

by BorisB on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

After seeing the show in Calgary. Getting to see the biggest show they have played yet on my birthday was amazing! The encore was musical epicness! All the bands coming out to play the weight is something I won't soon forget! Simply an amazing night by some truly talented folks!

  • by Smo12 on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 4 out of 5

Mumford and Sons were incredible! I will 100% go see them again... However.... I hope not at Holland Park. The park itself was nice before the concert, but as a person who is 5'3" I spent most of the concert listening and not seeing a dang thing. As amazing as they sounded, I still would've liked the full concert experience! I tried walking around the entire park with no luck. All in all, I'm glad I went, and I'm hoping that M&S come back VERY soon to a venue with seats!

  • Mumford and sons was amazing!!!

by iheartgwen on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

I have been dying to see Mumford and Sons live since I first heard of them almost two years ago. When I bought my tickets to see them in Holland Park I was ecstatic and I had really high expectations of their performance. They did not disappoint. The show was amazing, they were better than I could have ever hoped. You wouldn't expect it to be a very high energy show but they balanced their slower songs with the more upbeat and put on a perfect show. I will definitely go see them again and won't be forgetting this experience. AMAZING!!

  • Wooo!

  • A Wonderful Evening with Mumford and Sons

by slyre on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was a great night in a wonderful outdoor venue and the weather was fantastic. The band were so appreciative and complimentary of the fans and the city. It was very cool when Marcus told the crowd that we were the largest audience they had played for as headliners. Everyone had a blast!

  • Mumford was amazing

Mumford & Sons put on a spectacular show, played many of their songs and all of their big hits. They were a blast to watch. This was the best concert I've been to.

  • by Anonymous on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Overall, the event was excellent. Good selection of food options, fairly well-organized, beautiful venue. Couldn't have asked for better weather! One criticism which I have advised the city of Surrey of....no garbage cans, only recycling cans! Of course there was going to be garbage and if it was expected that the food vendors would supply bins for garbage from their sites, that was a big mistake.
