About

Mumford & Sons have catapulted to stardom with their captivating mix of bluegrass, country and rock, enchanting audiences with their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies. The English folk rock band’s second album Babel was released in September 2012, debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and U.S. with the hit single “I Will Wait.” The album also took home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and in 2013 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band consists of Ted Dwane on vocals, string bass, drums, and guitar; Ben Lovett on vocals, keyboards, accordion, and drums; and Marcus Mumford on lead vocals, guitar, drums, and mandolin. They formed in late 2007 in West London, and put out two EPs in 2008, Love Your Ground and a self-titled effort. Those EPs garnered interest in the U.K. and the U.S. and led to opening slots on tour with Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn. Mumford & Sons’ debut studio album, Sigh No More, was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the U.S., peaking at No. 2 on both the U.K. Albums and Billboard 200 charts. The album sold over three million copies in the U.S. alone on the strength of hit singles “The Cave,” “Little Lion Man” and “Winter Winds.” They also earned two Grammy Award nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man,” and won the Brit Award in 2011 for Best British Album. A worldwide headlining tour followed with the likes of Fanfarlo and The Middle East. Mumford & Sons released their fifth studio album Rushmere on March 28, 2025, and will support it with their 2025 North American Tour that kicks off in June.

  • Amazing music! Good location!

    by tmt1111 on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Loved this concert! Holland park was great although viewing points where limited as the grass seems to almost slope down away from the stage. It was still awesome but would recommend that they make the stage alot higher or do something to increase the viewing points. Basically anyone below 6' couldn't see the bottom 1/2 of the stage/band if you werent in the front row :( Amazing food options!!!!

  • Unforgettable - literally.

by Summersapple on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Marcus Mumford and co. were absolutely incredible live. Despite the humongous crowd in little Holland Park, the band somehow managed to make the event feel like everyone's favourite show (Surrey for the win!). The only downside to the event was that I somehow managed to pass out in the mud and Marcus stopped the show to direct paramedics my way. How embarrassing! But what a classy man. Thank you and I hope I can see your whole show next time!

  • Mumford & sons was unforgettable!!!

As the sun was setting behind the stage while listening to such amazing talent, you knew this was going to be an awesome show and that it was! I hope city of surrey has more of these outdoor concerts in the future.

Mumford and Sons were beyond amazing live and the fact it was in a park made it even better!

  • Spectacular Show and Great Crowd

by Shamwow on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

This was unbelievable. Mumford and Sons are absoulutely breathtaking live. The opening acts were fabulous. The Mystery Jets rocked with a great indie vibe, and Michael Kiwanuka stole the show with his lounge style music. But as soon as Mumford and Sons came on, the crowd went wild! They opened with Babel, and had the whole park on their feet. People were singing, and crying, clapping, and stopping. One of the best experiences ever, especailly with the double encore.

  • by acastro8 on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford & Sons were absolutely stellar, they put on a fantastic show! It helped that it was held in Holland Park (great venue) on an amazing spring day, but their performance was still too notch. I would definitely watch them again when they come back to Vancouver!

  • Mumford & Sons a big hit!

by ArtieinBC on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford & Sons put on a great high-energy performance. They engaged the audience from the beginning and kept us completely involved through to the final notes of their encore. I was totally satisfied and left with the feeling that the band had given everything they were capable of. A big hit!

Me and my boyfriend agreed that it was the best concert we have ever seen! I had never heard of the starting bands before but mystery jets were amazing! • Mumford & Sons were amazing

by Buds on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford & Sons are fantastic live. The sound was incredible. The videos were top quality. They saved the show for me as I was too short to see the stage with everyone standing! Other than a few drunken fans it was one of the best concerts I have seen. The crowd control was awesome too. Didnt take long to get people out of the fields and onto the sky train.

An amazing concert, not to be missed! They sounded great.

  • Fabulous!

    by Clarify69 on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford and Sons are better live that on album! They are so energetic! They are extremely talented, kind-hearted men. They even stopped the show when they saw someone was in trouble. Will see them every time then play close to me!

  • Amazing performance - disappointing atmosphere

by rawrr on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford and Sons put on an amazing performance!!! Hands down, best I have seen. But I do absolutely LOVE them, so you could say I'm a little biased :) However, I was quite disappointed with the amount I people talking during the songs. I found it disrespectful to the others in the audience as well as the band. Especially when Marcus is trying to set the mood for the deep, soulful, heart felt song he is about to perform. What is it that is so important to can't wait until between songs or after the show to say so loudly. I go to see my favourite artists perform to fully embrace their prescence, intently listen to their songs, the music, the lyrics, listen to THEM talk. Not a bunch of loud people, I would go to a mall for that. So PLEASE: people of the next generation, and of all generations really... Have some common courtesy for others, quiet during performances would be greatly appreciated! Mumford and Sons - you're amazing, I am still in awe. Just perfect!

The concert was amazing! It was the first concert I've ever been to but I would go back in a heartbeat! The tickets were affordable, the music even more fantastic live, the whole experience was unforgettable. The band didn't seem to interact a whole bunch with the crowd but that's okay because they played a lot of their songs and looked like they were having a great time doing so to!

  • M&S in Holland park......epic!

by kbourg on 2013-05-26Holland Park - SurreyRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, so organized. Mumford & Sons were as awesome as I thought they were going to be! Only one problem......I didn't get to meet them! Also, people are disgusting pigs, who goes to a concert, especially in a beautiful park, and just throws there garbage on the ground for others to pick up? I hope all those empty plastic cups and tubs were recycled and not just put in the trash after for the landfills!

  • Mumford and sons was amazing!!

  • Mumford and Sons; Amazing Live !

by MissYvette on 2013-05-25Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

This is definitely one of those bands that sound better live! Super Talented band, I found it amazing half of the time the lead singer, would sing and play his drums at the same time. I would go again !

  • Backyard Folk Revival

    by SquirrelTop84 on 2013-05-25Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The Mumford & Sons show is a delight for Mumfy fans. The show is flashy, but its just a great band, playing great music and making sure everyone has a great time. The songs flew by and there was a nice mix between fuller songs with a full backing band and more intimate acoustic songs sung by just Mumford and his Sons. Just an amazing night.
