About

Mumford & Sons have catapulted to stardom with their captivating mix of bluegrass, country and rock, enchanting audiences with their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies. The English folk rock band’s second album Babel was released in September 2012, debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and U.S. with the hit single “I Will Wait.” The album also took home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and in 2013 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band consists of Ted Dwane on vocals, string bass, drums, and guitar; Ben Lovett on vocals, keyboards, accordion, and drums; and Marcus Mumford on lead vocals, guitar, drums, and mandolin. They formed in late 2007 in West London, and put out two EPs in 2008, Love Your Ground and a self-titled effort. Those EPs garnered interest in the U.K. and the U.S. and led to opening slots on tour with Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn. Mumford & Sons’ debut studio album, Sigh No More, was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the U.S., peaking at No. 2 on both the U.K. Albums and Billboard 200 charts. The album sold over three million copies in the U.S. alone on the strength of hit singles “The Cave,” “Little Lion Man” and “Winter Winds.” They also earned two Grammy Award nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man,” and won the Brit Award in 2011 for Best British Album. A worldwide headlining tour followed with the likes of Fanfarlo and The Middle East. Mumford & Sons released their fifth studio album Rushmere on March 28, 2025, and will support it with their 2025 North American Tour that kicks off in June.

I've attended a lot of concerts in various settings and for a large stadium Mumford and Sons' energy and ability to captivate the audience was a pleasure to watch! An awesome time was had by myself, my 17 year old daughter and my 25 year old year old daughter:) Mumford and Sons came second in our hearts only to Coldplay.

I have never heard such a roar from the audience at Rexall Place before. And I have been going to concerts there since it was built. By the looks on the faces of the four lads on stage, they seemed to be having as good a time as the people they were performing for. Thanks boys for a great show. Not to mention, unreal ticket price.

  • Looking forward to more...from Mumford and Sons

by Kaitee on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

The sound was awesome (better than the recorded version) and the music is so wonderful with lots of people singing along. My criticism is that I like to feel more connected to the musicians and wish they had chatted more with us. I know Edmonton is not a special place for them (yet) and know they were possibly still jet lagged but please, don't do a Van Morrison with us. Edmonton is not the greatest crowd as we have been trained not to stand and express ourselves but know that if performers take a bit of time with us, we will respond and there will be a great energy flow. Mumford and Sons are a joy to listen to and love your harmonies and you have more to give and look forward to another visit.

Had a great night with Mumford & Sons and 15,000 fans. Their voices and musicality are incredible live and their harmonies are unbelievable. Can't explain the energy of the whole show from start to finish - Wow, great night!

  • Did that really happen?!

by Slammr on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I can't believe how amazing they were. I've been a fan for a long time and nearly died when I heard the announcement that they were FINALLY coming to Alberta. I've never been to a show at Rexall that seemed as intimate as this. It was unreal!!!! They are amazing live. Total perfection. Best show I've been to in a while!!!!! Please, please, pleeeeease come back to Edmonton!!!!!!!!!

by srhhgndr on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The Mumford and Sons concert was simply brilliant. I was expecting it to be a great concert - but it blew my mind. The sound was awesome, the fans were enthusiastic and their attention was right there, and the band was clearly having a blast. They played a GREAT set. I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone, even if you feel so-so about Mumford. It was one of the greatest concerts I've ever been to.

Such an amazing concert, honestly if you are a fan (or if you've only heard a few of their songs) this will be the best concert you have ever been to. If you can get tickets, GO. You will NOT regret it!

  • Mumford Rocks!

by Mumfordfan on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Hands down one of the best concerts I've been to in a long time. The only criticism would be that it was too short - would have loved to see Mumford play longer.

  • Munford was great

    by JPB1951 on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I could have done without the opening acts of the Mumford and Sons concert. The Sons put on a great show although I thought the volume was too high, so high that the words were lost in the clatter. I was very very impressed with the lighting and light show used with the concert - I do not go to a lot of shows but the lighting effects were something I have never seen.

  • Intimate sold out arena

by Arlysefw on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford & Sons are truly great musicians. Four guys playing their hearts out, you can feel the emotion in each song. It looked as though they had fun and were comfortable on stage I thought to myself as I seen them smile, play their hearts out or while talking to the crowd. The stage was simply decorated but the light show made an impact during the right songs. Then there were lights that flowed above the crowd made it seem like I was under a big top, outdoors watching a local band in an intimate setting.
