About

Mumford & Sons have catapulted to stardom with their captivating mix of bluegrass, country and rock, enchanting audiences with their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies. The English folk rock band’s second album Babel was released in September 2012, debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and U.S. with the hit single “I Will Wait.” The album also took home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and in 2013 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band consists of Ted Dwane on vocals, string bass, drums, and guitar; Ben Lovett on vocals, keyboards, accordion, and drums; and Marcus Mumford on lead vocals, guitar, drums, and mandolin. They formed in late 2007 in West London, and put out two EPs in 2008, Love Your Ground and a self-titled effort. Those EPs garnered interest in the U.K. and the U.S. and led to opening slots on tour with Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn. Mumford & Sons’ debut studio album, Sigh No More, was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the U.S., peaking at No. 2 on both the U.K. Albums and Billboard 200 charts. The album sold over three million copies in the U.S. alone on the strength of hit singles “The Cave,” “Little Lion Man” and “Winter Winds.” They also earned two Grammy Award nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man,” and won the Brit Award in 2011 for Best British Album. A worldwide headlining tour followed with the likes of Fanfarlo and The Middle East. Mumford & Sons released their fifth studio album Rushmere on March 28, 2025, and will support it with their 2025 North American Tour that kicks off in June.

  • Mumford and Sons a great music talent

by scank on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Overall the event was good. They need to work on their stage presence as they forgot about the fans on the side. They played only to the center crowd and it did not make me feel part of the show and i was losing interest. They could work on engaging the crowd a bit more. Despite that the music was great. Seemed to have some challenges with changing instruments - not sure if they were working out kinks or the song list didn't allow a good flow.

  • Phenomenal Show!

Wow, just wow!!! Loved every moment, opening acts to the final note of The Cave. Sang, danced, cried......one of the best shows I've been to.

  • Mumford was Magnificent!

In a venue of 16000 people, I felt like I was sitting in a little pub in London watching this dynamic group. Very intimate, Marcus' voice rings right through you. We had floor seats, right at the front and it felt very connected. They have such passion for their music and is shows. Edmonton is always a great concert crowd - Marcus told us that we were the best crowd he'd played to (I know they always say that) we got two more songs than Calgary. We were feeling them and they were feeling us - great night!

  • Expérience of a life time

by Anakeh on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Once again my mind was blown away. Love how they interact with each other and the crowd. Love how you can feel how they love playing and how they feed from the crowd. Great musician . How often can you put over a 10000 people in a room and have them smiling for over an hour . That's amazing :) Saw them in Toulouse in march and loved it so much was very excited to see them in Edmonton . The second time was just as mind blowing and hope to catch them again somewhere else

  • gold. pure gold.

by rachfors on 2013-05-24Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford & Sons put on THE most amazing show. Somehow felt like they were playing just for me, and anyone I know that was there felt the same way. They sound as good/or perhaps even better live as they do on their album. I will never miss them if they come back. The energy from the crowd was incredible and the guys seemed like they were genuinely having an amazing time. They've ousted Nine Inch Nails from the top spot. If you ever get the chance to see them live,do it. The concerts been over for over 18 hours and I'm still mumford high.

  • Mumford and Sons was unreal!!!! Amazing!!!!

  • Mumford and Sons was FANTASTIC!

by Jacksamjoe on 2013-05-23Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Flew from the Comox Valley to Calgary simply for this first concert for me in 25 years and first ever for my 15 year old, and it will not be topped. Half the people I told I was going to see them didn't know who they were but there was a full house singing along to EVERYTHING and a deafening appreciation at the end of every full of energy song. Just four guys with nothing but the pure sound of the up and coming superstars they will be. They gave it their all and it was perfect.

  • Best Band I've seen in a long time

by newmumfordfan on 2013-05-23Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Got last-minute, tickets on ticketmaster and planned to give them to my sister as she loves this band. She tried to get tickets the day they were released but was disappointed as they sold out within a couple of minutes. I ended up being the person who went with her. I knew one of their songs that has been played on the radio recently. Their voices were beautifully harmonized, the set simple but engaging. The energy in the building was unbelievable. I loved every song they played.

Mumford was amazing. The whole band is made of TRUE musicians and they have a superb sound. They all play various instruments and put on a great show. They sound just as good live as they do on their albums. Highly recommended.

  • Amazing Mumford!!!

by karantle on 2013-05-23Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This group is extremely talented and definitely left me wanting more Mumford! I loved how they played/sang their hearts out and performed as though they were in a smaller venue like the bars they recently were performing in. They had no gimmicks, no "circus tricks" just raw talent...AMAZING! I feel fortunate for having the opportunity to see them!
