About

Mumford & Sons have catapulted to stardom with their captivating mix of bluegrass, country and rock, enchanting audiences with their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies. The English folk rock band’s second album Babel was released in September 2012, debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and U.S. with the hit single “I Will Wait.” The album also took home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and in 2013 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band consists of Ted Dwane on vocals, string bass, drums, and guitar; Ben Lovett on vocals, keyboards, accordion, and drums; and Marcus Mumford on lead vocals, guitar, drums, and mandolin. They formed in late 2007 in West London, and put out two EPs in 2008, Love Your Ground and a self-titled effort. Those EPs garnered interest in the U.K. and the U.S. and led to opening slots on tour with Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn. Mumford & Sons’ debut studio album, Sigh No More, was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the U.S., peaking at No. 2 on both the U.K. Albums and Billboard 200 charts. The album sold over three million copies in the U.S. alone on the strength of hit singles “The Cave,” “Little Lion Man” and “Winter Winds.” They also earned two Grammy Award nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man,” and won the Brit Award in 2011 for Best British Album. A worldwide headlining tour followed with the likes of Fanfarlo and The Middle East. Mumford & Sons released their fifth studio album Rushmere on March 28, 2025, and will support it with their 2025 North American Tour that kicks off in June.

  • Mumford & Sons...more than expected

by FangirlMom on 2011-11-01Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I had originally purchased 3 tickets for the Copps Coliseum show and my daughter was asked to invite 1 friend to join us and she "accidentally" asked 2 friends who accepted, leaving me without a ticket. I had debated just letting her and her friends go but after constantly hearing their music played in my car and at home (via her Ipod/cd player), I thought I should attend and purchased a ticket online just hours before the show---thank God I did. Their performance was amazing live and there was not a minute that I wasn't tapping my feet or clapping my hands or singing along. The only downside to the event was not in relation to the performance but to the idiots who thought it was okay to light up a joint during the show...I am extremely sensitive to smells and needed to remove myself from the area for a while before I became sick.

  • amazing

wasnt really a fan before. Went because a friend asked me too. They are un-frickin- believable!!! I mean. they dont suck like most bands do live. I cant get over how into the music and how passionate they get. Even when the poor lead singer messed up and started singing the first verse half way through.. the guys all tried to keep going but they were laughing too hard! There wasnt one bad thing to say about them (the openers on the other hand..... ugh.......) but i cant wait for them to come back. totally going to go again!!

  • Mumford and Sons was simply amazing

    by joee10 on 2011-10-31Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Mumford and sons put on an absolute amazing show at the Copps Coliseum. I would have liked to see a better opening band for them but they more than made up for it with their enthusiasm on stage and overall performance. I would strongly recommend to anyone that is thinking about going to see them to go.

It was a very good show. The band members are very talented musicians. The acoustics were very good at Copps.

  • Mumford & Sons are Incredible Entertainers!

by heathabee on 2011-10-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford and Sons at the ACC was awesome, and they made you feel like you were witnessing history! From the start, Marcus let us know that the crowd at the ACC was double the size of the largest crowd they'd ever played for. Later on in the show he told us that it was humbling for all 4 of them to share the experience with all of us. It was a pretty special experience to see how much they're loved by their fans here in Canada and to give them their first 'stadium' show. The great thing about seeing Mumford and Sons live is that they're just now in the studio working on Album#2, so they played every song from their debut disc, so you were bound to hear your favourites (even though every song is your favourite if you love Mumford and Sons!) They also played songs from their new album and I CAN'T WAIT to buy it - it sounds incredible. It was very evident by the energy that they put into their show that they actually practice and take the time to ensure that they're ready for the show and give a good performance; watching Marcus take his earbud out at the end of each song to allow him and the boys to harmonize just showed how polished they are as performers; it worked - not one missed note, which as an audience member is a treat - nothing worse than your favourite performer being off-key. The decor was also awesome, in that they strung Christmas lights up to make it feel like the inside of a pub in England; it felt like being in the "Little Lion Man" video! I looked forward to this event forever and it didn't disappoint. I can't wait for them to come back, I just hope that they don't change. It would be amazing to see them in a smaller venue.

  • No words

by Kstar on 2011-10-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

There are no words to describe how amazing Mumford and Sons are live. They're enthusiastic, passionate, talented (so so talented) and genuinely care about the fans. I pretty much sat there with my mouth hanging open for the entire show. Everytime Marcus started strumming or beating those drums I was hooked. Loved it.

The Mumford and Sons concert was by far one of the best concerts I've been to. The music was wonderful, and the crowd was fully enthralled in the whole performance. Seeing them was a real treat, and I hope these wonderful musicians come back soon.

Although the boys were playing an arena, they made it feel like an intimate venue, with all your friends around. I couldn't have asked for a better performance! The new songs that they played sounded great, and I can't wait until they come back! <3

There cannot be another live show better than this. Mumford and Sons have the ability to play REAL music LIVE - and do it extremely well. If they didn't match their CD quality, they exceeded it! Can't wait for the new album and the next show!
