About

Mumford & Sons have catapulted to stardom with their captivating mix of bluegrass, country and rock, enchanting audiences with their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies. The English folk rock band’s second album Babel was released in September 2012, debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and U.S. with the hit single “I Will Wait.” The album also took home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and in 2013 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band consists of Ted Dwane on vocals, string bass, drums, and guitar; Ben Lovett on vocals, keyboards, accordion, and drums; and Marcus Mumford on lead vocals, guitar, drums, and mandolin. They formed in late 2007 in West London, and put out two EPs in 2008, Love Your Ground and a self-titled effort. Those EPs garnered interest in the U.K. and the U.S. and led to opening slots on tour with Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn. Mumford & Sons’ debut studio album, Sigh No More, was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the U.S., peaking at No. 2 on both the U.K. Albums and Billboard 200 charts. The album sold over three million copies in the U.S. alone on the strength of hit singles “The Cave,” “Little Lion Man” and “Winter Winds.” They also earned two Grammy Award nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man,” and won the Brit Award in 2011 for Best British Album. A worldwide headlining tour followed with the likes of Fanfarlo and The Middle East. Mumford & Sons released their fifth studio album Rushmere on March 28, 2025, and will support it with their 2025 North American Tour that kicks off in June.

The show at Copps Coliseum was amazing! The crowd was energetic and enthusiastically sang along to the entirety of Sigh No More. I absolutely loved the simple stage set-up and twinkle lights that were all around the arena. The band played numerous new songs, which were all amazing and have me so excited for their next album. Overall a fantastic show, put on by a talented band.

  • Mumford & Sons Best concert i've ever been to.

by shinkar on 2011-10-28Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert i have ever been too. And for only their second large venue show ever, Mumford & Sons really killed it. They played everything from their album and tons of new songs too. It was a real treat to be let in on the new material that they are in the middle of recording. As for the band, they were full of energy, funny, captivating, and lets not forget they have British accents. I would recommend seeing this band anywhere, anytime, and for any price!!!!

  • Just when i thought they couldn't get any better..

    by colz87 on 2011-10-28Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show. Mumford & Sons have gone from playing small venues and theaters to selling out arenas in only one year? No need to wonder why, these guys are amazing and it was a pleasure to see their first 'Canadian tour'. Start to finish it was just magical and the audience was hanging on every word. You have to experience these guys live - brings a whole new appreciation to their music. Their passion absolutely radiates through their lyrics and song. Hope to see them back soon.

I have seen a lot of performances over the years but have not seen mass hysteria like this before!! It was beyond incredible!!! I think the band was just as overwhelmed as I was!!! They sound even better live than on their first album. The songs from their second album were also fantastic!! Can't wait for it's release!! This band is a MUST SEE!!! Truly beyond incredible!!!

  • Loved it!!

by SonyaLasagna on 2011-10-28Copps - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford and Sons were amazing!!!They really pour their heart and soul into their music and it was so wonderful to see. Inbetween songs they would engage with the audience and they all seemed so kind and genuinely happy to be there. Everyone leaving the show seemed so ampted about it, it was unbelievable! My hands were red from clapping and my foot soar from stomping but it was totally worth it!!! I cannot wait for these guys to come back!!

by ChicagoBullRockStar on 2011-10-28Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I go to many concerts throughout the year and I must say that this one was the best one I have seen in a long time. Every detail to the show was just perfect. The band started on time which is always a plus, and the crowd was great. Everyone there including M&S were there for the same reason, to have an amazing night.

I cannot begin to explain how RIDICULOUSLY incredible they were. My mind was blown out of its socket and then some. Pure talent. I’ve seen Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Born Ruffians, and many others which were all amazing concerts but this…this, hooooooooooooooooh man. Can’t even….AH. Still trying to come down from the high, two days later. Cannot wait to see you again. Please come back to Toronto soon.

  • AMAZING!

    by LEAFS22 on 2011-10-27Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Mumford and Sons took the stage and the crowd roared. Their beautiful harmonies blew my mind. You could tell that they were having a blast. Marcus made a comment where he thanked the audience for making it feel like a beautiful, intimate show even though it was in a stadium. I was overwhelmed with emotion during 'Awake my soul' and encore performance of 'After the Storm'. Their music gets to me in a way nothing has ever before. I really wish the night never ended. I will go to see them a million times over again! They played a handful of new songs which were incredible and I can tell they are only going to get better. TOTALLY excited for what is to come :)!

Excellent concert at the ACC! Almost 2 hours long, thrilling from beginning to end. The London lads really know how to put on a live show, I think I'm in love :) If you get a chance to see them, do it! You won't be disappointed!
