About

Over nine studio albums, My Morning Jacket has evolved the reverb-heavy country of their debut (1999’s The Tennessee Fire) to a sound that transcends genres. Singer-songwriter Jim James has pushed the band past their regional roots in Louisville, Kentucky, toward the psychedelic, reggae-influenced sounds on albums like It Still Moves (2003) and Z (2005) — the latter proving to be their critical breakthrough. In 2008, My Morning Jacket performed on Saturday Night Live, while their Grammy-nominated album Evil Urges became their first top 10 on the Billboard 200. The band’s rain-soaked set at Bonnaroo that same year is considered one of the festival’s most iconic, and My Morning Jacket has since shared bills with Bob Dylan, Foo Fighters and Wilco.

    Amazing night filled with ups and downs. Massey hall staff was incredible, helpful and caring. Madi Diaz was great, set the the tone, MMJ sounded better than ever. Blessed to have been there!

    1st MMJ Concert

    My son and his wife have seen ten shows over the years of their favourite group and actually got rained out in California sometime in August in seeing MMJ and Fleet foxes on a double bill. I ordered a single ticket for the first balcony at Massey Hall, which is famous for its acoustics. Jim James and colleagues did not disappoint in the first cut of Love Love Love to the final 3-4 song encore. There was no let up whatsoever and the quality of song and entertainment by this remarkable writer, musician and entertainer was second to none. A fabulous show from start to finish. Many people in the first balcony were standing throughout the show and rocking on. Great Show, ttyl, Al/Ski

    The MMJ show October 17th at Massey Hall was truly a fantastic few hours of my life. These guys are really good at their jobs. Loved the light show and sound at Massey Hall. Pure joy!

    Never disappoints!

    As a long time forever fan I can honestly say Ive been looking forward to this band in this venue for a very long time and it did not disappoint. Crowd was typical Toronto lame in comparison to other markets but blocking that out and very thankful. Thanx fella’s see ya down the road somewhere no doubt!

    This show was amazing. Band of Horses (one of my favourite bands) played first. They were great, but did not have quite the amazing atmosphere and stage presence that My Morning Jacket had. They were insanely great and I love them even more now! Thanks!
