About

My Morning Jacket’s 10th studio album and first full-length new collection in more than three years, is arrives via ATO Records on Friday, March 21. Produced by 3x GRAMMY Award-winner Brendan O’Brien, the album is heralded by the ravishing lead single, “Time Waited,” available everywhere now.

For more than 25 years, My Morning Jacket have achieved an incredibly rare feat in the world of rock ‘n’ roll – upholding a long-established cultural legacy while sustaining all the curiosity and creative hunger of their very earliest days. In a monumental step for the Louisville, KY-bred five-piece – vocalist/guitarist Jim James, bassist Tom Blankenship, guitarist Carl Broemel, drummer Patrick Hallahan, keyboardist Bo Koster – is once again expands the limits of their sound and elevates their artistry to unprecedented heights. The result is perhaps the most masterfully realized work yet from a band fully committed to their belief in music as a conduit for revelation of all kinds.

Best live show I've seen in years. Incredible energy and musicianship!! I would recommend this bank to anyone and will certainly look for them if they come back this way soon.

  • Best Concert Ever

I've been to a lot of concerts, and my taste is eclectic. But, hands down, this was the best concert I've been to. Topped my former best concert: My Morning Jacket at the Koolhaus!

First time seeing the band live. Incredible! Can't wait for them to come back.

Great show. MMJ played for 2.5 hours. I thought it was a double bill and was disappointed when Neko Case only played for 25 min.

  • A rockin show!

by Jakey on 2011-07-18Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

This is a band who knows how to rock it and barely stops to shmooze between songs. I personally like a little bit of explanation or chit-chat between the songs, but as always we're here to hear the music! The sound wasn't great, sometimes it was just too loud and muffled, which is a shame because musically they are such a talented band and bring so much to their songs. Overall though, they totally rocked and had such energy on stage!!

  • My Morning Jacket exceeded all expectations!

by Rockhound on 2011-07-16Métropolis - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

I, first, saw My Morning Jacket on Austin City Limits. I thought these guys were pretty cool, combining vestiges of southern rock, folk rock and the blues. I ended up purchasing as many CDs as possible, to get a better sense of their music. Nothing could prepare me for the concert, on July 12th. Led by their charismatic frontman Jim James, My Morning Jacket rocked out the house. As soon as they appeared on stage, the concert became a pedal to the metal rock odyssey. Essentially, dispensing with any chitchat, between songs, once they launched into the first song (Victory Dance), it was non-stop rock and roll, until the last tune was completed, two hours and forty minutes later. I was extremely impressed by their energy, and their talent. Opening act Jake and the Leprechauns were, also, in great form, and proved to be a formidable lead-in, to one of the best concerts I have ever attended. Being three rows from the stage, made this event even more memorable.

Most epic live show my wife and I have ever experienced! First time visiting the Orpheum and seeing MMJ - both changed our lives!

  • That was a rock show!!!

    by Murph8 on 2011-07-14Métropolis - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

My friends and I drove 12 hours to go and see the show. We hadn't watched them live since 2006. The last time we watched it was the best show I had ever watched and this show is now the replacement. I've watched a lot of shows in a variety of venues in a variety of provinces and states but this show was outstanding. The moment they took the stage to the moment they left it was clear they were giving it their all to a very appreciative crowd. I loved the new tunes and the Evil Urges tunes as well as the classic face melters. Dondante was reason enough to go.

  • MMJ do it again!!!!!!

    by Bonnaroo420 on 2011-07-13Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I walked into the Kool Haus at 8:27 pm to hear the opening chants of "Victory Dance" from their new album Circuital. The doors opened at 7pm and Neko Case was supposedly the opening act. After a wonderful dinner, we were hoping to catch the end of Neko's set and prepare for a first time viewing of MMJ. Not sure what happened, but as mentioned above, we were lucky to catch the opening of MMJ. I turned to my wife and said, "8:30 start? They are going to play for a while". We walked out of the Kool Haus (after purchasing a shirt) at 11:10pm. A two-and-a-half hour set. After Jim James exclaimed, "Thank you for having us again. It's been a while and we're sorry for that. I just love playing in this room", followed at a later time by, "We're up against some stiff competition in U2" (playing at Rogers Centre), I should have known we were in for a stellar show. And it was just that. Jim James was all over the stage. MMJ looked like they were having a great time. I've been to enough shows to know that when the band is feeling good, something magical is about to take place. 2.5 hours = magical.

  • I'd wear My Morning Jacket all day!!

by gluegirl on 2011-07-13Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I went to see My Morning Jacket at The Koolhaus in Toronto on Monday night and I was not disappointed! The sound was nice and loud and super clear even at the back of the gig. Jim James is a brilliant musician, and is clearly in love with his craft. His hair-whipping energy is explosive and highly addictive! Awesome show!!

  • by BadtotheBone on 2011-07-03Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Sublime, they put on an amazing show in Vancouver, no mindless chatter or band introductions, just great song after great song, and a 5 song encore, does it get better than that?

  • by cheets on 2011-07-03Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert, and great musicians, lots of energy and fantastic music: we definitely got our money's worth!! I was kind of surprised how empty the Orpheum was when we got there (a little late) for the opening band, Everest, as I was excited to see Everest as well, and was a little shocked about how few bothered to get to their seats to check them out. But of course I was glad to see the seats fill up as soon as My Morning Jacket came out. They put on a great, and long show, from the very start to the very end! The concert was amazing and I would love to see them live again.

Awesome show! Guitar was hypnotizing. I wanna go again

  • One of the best live shows today.

    by Whistler78 on 2011-07-01Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This is not a show to be missed. My Morning Jacket is one of the greatest live shows touring today. I only wish they'd come to Vancouver more often.
