Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful rock bands in history. Since the release of their breakthrough third album — 2001’s Silver Side Up — the Canadian post-grunge rockers have sold over 50 million albums worldwide, with multiple Top 10 hits, four Grammy nominations, and 12 Juno Awards. Career-defining hits like “How You Remind Me,” “Photograph,” and “Rockstar” have made Nickelback a diamond-certified selling group, and the second best selling foreign act in the U.S. in the 2000s (behind only The Beatles). “How You Remind Me,” a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, was named the most-played song on U.S. radio (in any format) in the 2000s by Nielsen Soundscan. Since forming in 1995 in the town of Hanna in Alberta, Canada, the high-octane rockers have been on 12 consecutive sold-out world tours, playing to over 10 million fans worldwide.

Aug 9th at the Molson Amphitheatre was a night to remember. Went to see the Nickelback show but it was cancelled due to the lightening strikes and the storm that moved in. We were able to see the openening acts, Saving Abel, they did very well, Papa Roach really rocked out & got the crowd into their set...boy was it LOUD!!! And finally Hinder got to play their set, they were awesome really worked the crowd & sounded great!! Unfortunately after their set, which was about 8:30pm a rep from the amphitheatre (I think) came out and told us that the show would be delayed due to the lightening. They cleared out the people on lawns & said they'd re-start the concert once the storm passes. At about 10pm they told us the show would be cancelled cause the lightening was not ending. Their main concern was to keep everyone safe and they told us the concert would be rescheduled soon. I understand their concern for safety and they did keep us updated during the delay. So it was sad to leave the show without seeing Nickelback, but you just can't take chances with Mother Nature.
My wife and I took our 6 and 9 years old to their first concert as a reward for a great school year. I don't know who was more excited them or us. We missed Saving Abel, but Papa Roach certainly got things going. The best part was when the lead singer, agrivated that everyone was sitting ventured through the crowd while not missing a beat. We loved that as did the boys. Hinder took the stage next and played an awesome set capped off by Lips of an Angel which everyone sang along with. The weather turned nasty and gave the grass seats an unneccesary shower. The lightening was aminous and understandabley with the happenings in Alberta fresh in the promoters mind the upper area was evacuated. At 10 pm they announced that the show would not go on. Everyone was dissapointed but we understood it would be difficult to get everyone back in to the upper level. It was a great show for what we saw and the boys however dissapointed in not seeing Nickelback thought Hinder and Papa Roach were awesome and I agree.
Saving abel was nuts, very verbally angry band. I am sure younger concert fans loved them. Pappa Rock kinda the same. Hinder was awesome and then sky went black and the rain came. It was chaos and confusion. tryong to get to your car as they instruction. I totally agree with for safety of the fans and given the lightening it was very dangerous. However there wasn't any follow up info as to we'll keep you posted over the sound system as to how and when we'll notify you if the show will go on. We just waited 11/2 hours in the rain and didn't have a clue as to what was happening. should have updated every 15 minutes or so.
Centre stage, 10 people back anticipating the flash and excitment of my 4th Nickelback concert! Suddenly everything came to a halt with Mother Nature's light show. After an hour delay they were forced to cancel the concert due to the lightening. My rating is amazing since I have seen them before and each time was more amazing then the last! I look forward to finding out when they will reschedule and once again I will work my way to that perfect place to look at at the boys on stage! Make sure you plan on returning to Molson's Amphitheatre...there is not a bad seat in the house!
so.....20 minutes before Nickelback came on HUGE dark clouds came over the venue and we watched and waited as mother nature unleashed her rath on the concert go-ers. I had purchased these tickets so my friend from BC and I could go to this concert for her 30th birthday, I spend almost $600 on the tickets and had front row so I can't even tell you how disappointed both of us were when around 10pm after standing in the heat since 4pm to see our favourite band, they cancelled the concert. They better reschedule but unfortunately my friend goes home to BC tomorrow. We stopped at McDonalds on the way home as I had nothing to eat since 12pm and my change was a Nickel, how ironic. I still love you Nickelback and I really missed you last night, hope to see you soon!
Nickelback always chooses the best opening bands, and last night was no exception. But we didn't get to see the main event - Nickelback - because of severe thunder and lightning storms! So disappointed! Please please please reschedule soon!
Unfortunately, this concert was cancelled due to a severe lightening and thunderstorm. We are all waiting to hear from Ticketmaster what we are to do with out tickets.
the concert went well until it started raining just before nickelback went on the stage. i ended up leaving and diddnt even get to see nickelback play because i had lawn seats and got so wet!
