OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN IN CONCERT:
Olivia Newton John is one of the top-selling recording artists of all time, but to many fans she'll forever be doe-eyed Sandy from the 1978 blockbuster film Grease. Newton John's Summer Nights residency at the Flamingo in Las Vegas takes its name from one of Grease's most popular musical numbers, and a medley of beloved songs from the film's soundtrack provides the centerpiece of the show. Newton John rounds out the experience with pitch-perfect performances of her early country material, songs from the Xanadu soundtrack, and pop hits like "Physical", making for an unforgettable night of career-spanning hits, something true fans won't want to miss.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in England and raised in Australia, Olivia Newton John got her start performing with a short-lived Melbourne girl group called Sol Four. She appeared on various Australian TV programs before traveling to Britain in 1966 to record her debut single "Till You Say You'll Be Mine". In 1971 she released her first solo album If Not For You, scoring her first No. 1 hit with the title track and landing another hit with follow-up single "Banks of the Ohio". In addition to landing seven consecutive No. 1's on the Adult Contemporary chart during the '70s, she experienced considerable success as a country artist with a popular cover of John Denver's classic hit "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and her Top 10 hit "Let Me Be There", which earned her a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. The pinnacle of her fame came in 1978 with her starring role in the musical film Grease and its accompanying soundtrack, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 and still appears on Billboard's Top Soundtracks chart today. The '80s saw Newton John shed her good-girl image in favor of the edgier look and sound as she unveiled on 1981's "Physical", an international smash and the decade's top-selling single in the US. In 2014 she debuted her Summer Nights residency show at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, earning praise from critics and fans alike for her elegant performances and perfectly preserved voice.
What a show! It was like a dream come true to see Olivia Newton-John live. She was so personable and is still absolutely beautiful! She really connected with the audience and sang a great variety of all of her music, as well as showing video clips of her public life through the years - which I love! Very memorable evening!!
Upon hearing Olivia's first number in her show I was a little worried about her high notes not being polished and effortless; however thankfully I was wrong and she settled into an excellent show with strong vocal ability and her beautiful reputed sound. The repertoire was immediately recognizable and sounded as well as it did in he 70's and 80's. Her Country music selections were excellent as well as the numerous songs from "Grease" some featuring her excellent back-up singers and band. Her laid back stage presence surprised and pleased me. Given the opportunity, I would definitely see Olivia again. Go see and hear her.
If you werent a fan when you went to the concert..you left a fan. She was amazing! Sang all the songs and got the crowd going. Shes still absolutely beautiful and sooooooooooo nice. Brilliant night and great fun to hang out with one of my closest friends.
She has an amazing voice, & still beautiful ! The stage isn't so deck out as other performers, but we were 3 rows form the front & paid $80.00, i guess the more expensive ones pay for all the stage props. She sang all the songs you know & love, it was great !!! Love her !!
What a fabulous show, from start to finish. The whole band was included and it was nonstop. It was a travel through her career from the start to right now.

We hadn't been to Rama for a few years so this was our return engagement. We really had no idea of what to expect as the music of the 1970s was not our bag but we decided to give it a try. Firstly we realized that she could sing (she was a bit rough at first), secondly she had some stage persona and thirdly her minimalist backing was quite okay although a little over-produced we thought. All-in-all a pleasant surprise.
She was fantastic. She has very talented musicians playing with her. The show was great. Nice to see an entertainer with such warmth and class. A must see.
No matter how many years pass her voice is as pure and amazing as in her 20's. Live performances truly show how talented she is. Gave me goose bumps.
What a great show she put on. She looked amazing and her voice is as good as ever. Her outfits may well have been her Vegas ones as they were gorgeous. She sang all her old songs and included a fun Grease selection with the help of her back up singers who were also excellent. They appear to have so much fun together. Her last song, 'I love you, I honestly love you' brought tears to my eyes. My only complaint was the ligthing. It was so bright at times for the first few songs that we were literally blinded and had to keep turning away.

Olivia Newton-John was (and is) fantastic! The best concert that I've seen of hers (I've been to three now), and one of the best concerts that I've ever seen. The seats were meet and greet, so of course that was the highlight after the show. Reasonably priced compare to other singer's meet and greet tickets, and a portion all the ticket sales / merchandise goes to fight cancer. All her songs are great, and it's hard to have a favourite. "I Honestly Love You" at the end was a highlight, a country medley and the Grease songs were too. One particular special moment was during the song "Not going to give in to it", when Olivia took a flower from a bunch on the stage, and gave it to an obvious cancer survivor in the front row. What a caring moment from Olivia, who is a cancer survivor herself. I didn't think that my respect and admiration for Olivia could possibly go any higher than it is, but with that simple act, it did! Also, these are fantastic seats! The best that I've ever had at a concert, and the sound was great. When sitting, one's head was still above the stage, and the stage was no more than 2 feet away. Olivia was literally in front of you, with eye contact, and since these seats included the meet and greet, what more could one ask for.? Maybe some more stars, because five aren't enough!
Still looks great, and the voice is STILL AMAZING BUT NO LEATHER PANTS,FROM THE MOVIE GREASE AFTER HER BATTLE WITH CANCER, SHE NOTICED A CANCER VICTIM IN THE FRONT ROW AND GAVE HER A WHITE ROSE IN THE MIDDLE OF HER SONG. FIRST CLASS
This 1 1/2 hour show showcased all the favorite songs. Presented as an intimate performance which included all band members and was therefore more enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone for a quality thoroughly enjoyable time.
Great concert! Olivia and her band were obviously having fun. They really love what they do. The two big screens at both sides of the stage made it even more worth. Thanks to the casino! I guess the band was extremely encouraged this time since they had family members sitting in the audience ;-).
Olivia Newton John hits those high notes like no other. Her concert was wonderful. What I like about Olivia is that she is real and she really engages the audience. When she started laughing during "Summer Nights", it just made the whole audience have fun with her. Olivia is just a beautiful woman. I am so glad I was able to attend this concert.
Olivia Newton John her show was excellent she still looks wonderful and as strong as ever and her voice is lovely and she's a very sweet lady!
The first think you think when performers age is do they still have a voice? What a surprise just before her 64th Birthday, yes 64th, this lady can belt out a tune. Perfect sound levels so musicians did not drown out her voice, unlike the recent Wilson Phillips Concert at Rama. Played lots of favourites. Her tone, volume, and ability to interact with the audience was one of the highlights of the year for the 4 concerts I have attended at Rama. And she still looks great. When your hot your hot. Link back to memories of her in the movie Grease, and it shows she still takes care of herself and moves comfortably on the stage. Would definitely go again to see her. Timeless, almost ageless.
Olivia can still more than cut the mustard!! Her voice is as strong, if not stronger, than it was years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed this concert.
The show was so amazing!! I have loved her for so many years and I got a chance to see her in concert !! She was so dynamic and fun ... She looked like she was having a really good time and that is perfect as so was I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
