    Not Completely Disappointed

by gordoNator on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I was disappointed that the promoters appeared to have no interest in the Canadian Version of the show. By dropping two major acts (regardless of the Reason) and not stepping up to add others I feel that we were cheated based on the ticket price that we paid and hearing such positive vibes from the other stops on this tour with the full card.. However > the real reason to attend was to see Willie Nelson and that almost made up for the rest.

More acts would have been better

by NickCl on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The original line-up had six acts and promised that more would be added. Four acts made the show: Terra Lightfoot was excellent. I was impressed with the bluesy-ness of Sturgill Simpson relative to his recordings. Tedeschi Trucks band was over-the-top excellent. Willie was loads of fun. Still, for all the excellence - I would have preferred the seven-act show that was originally promised over the four-act show that was delivered without any indication of apologies.

    Willie Nelson is legend!!!!

by nadinelewis on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I started my Bucket List of bands to see before they die about 15 years ago, and have seen a lot of truly amazing performers, but I can't think of a single one that stood out the way Willie Nelson did. At 85, his voice is still so strong and clear, and his guitar playing is perfection!! His sister was equally impressive at 2 years his senior, she was a master of the piano!! I honestly can't recommend Willie Nelson enough!!! So happy I got to see him!!!

    Outlaw music festival

by Ekfilms on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I loved the show had a blast people were awesome. One request I do have is to allocate room for dancing. I can’t sit down at a concert I come to have fun this isn’t Massey hall. I had to move away from my section in order to dance that sucked a bit. It would have been more fun if there was at least one more act but otherwise I loved every minute of it!! I got to see Willie right here at home hell yeah!!

All the Acts in the Outlaw Music Festival were Excellent. I was introduced to the Music of Terra Lightfoot,Sturgill Simpson, and the Tedeschi Truck band. None of these Bands were familiar to, but i thoroughly Enjoyed them as they played the type of Music that i enjoy.... Now i am in the process of getting their music for my personal collection. This is one of the Benefits of Opening Acts at Concerts.

    Good times!

by Rumpy on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Great show. Loved the fact that they included a Canadian performer, but was disappointed that Promise of the Real and especially Van Morrison didn't wind up on the bill. Having said that Sturgill was great and TTB was incredible. Great venue and a seamless ticket buying experience. Thank you!

    Sturgill Simpson Stole The Show!

by bfortner on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

In what had to be the oddest event Live Nation staged at Budweiser Stage this summer thank goodness Sturgill Simpson. The event was originally marketed with to include Van Morrison, Particle Kid, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real --Neil Young's backup band--plus more TBA saw all those bands replaced by Terra Lightfoot with little communication from Live Nation. In fact at showtime Particle Kid was still being advertised as on the bill. The lack of communication on performers billings was bad on Live Nations part. One could not expect the talented Terra Lightfoot to replace all the missing bands and I had no expectation for that to happen. Lightfoot's technology and sound didn't match the halls size but her talent did shine through. My take away was/is to see her in a smaller venue some day. The came roots musician Sturgill Simpson. What a performance. I've seen hundreds performers in my day but Simpson's live performance definitely fits in my top ten. If this was "Country" then it isn't my children's children's country, the performance in fact was one of the best rock guitar performances I've ever seen with a really tight band. It's no wonder he's been opening for Guns N' Roses of late. Some of the guitar leads by Simpson kept going and going building in intensity to the likes I've never seen. 5 star performance. Next was the Tedeschi Trucks Band. While popular with the crowd the band had too many musicians (12) for me and I readily admit they were not at all my cup of tea. I don't even know how thy could be considered "Outlaw" but hey I didn't brand the event. I had read that they played blues but it came across to me more as a country hybrid of funk and soul. What I did enjoy was the flat picking of Derek Trucks the groups lead guitarist (5 star). I did expect to see good musicians at this show and I did with Lightfoot, Simpson and Trucks. I saw Willie Nelson about a year ago on a live streamed event sponsored by Apple so I knew what to expect. Willie is loved by his fans and can do no wrong. At 85 Willie does start slow but does get noticeably better as the show goes on. His sister plays a ragtime style piano that's very enjoyable and comforting to hear. The set moves along quickly and it was worth the hour of time to watch the performance from the man who wrote "I Fall To Pieces" and was there while Patsy Cline recorded it. To me that's a big piece of music history.

    Terdeschi Trucks Rule

    by Gma6 on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

All band were exceptional. Terdeschi Trucks are a band all should see. They are do right and full sounding with their 12 piece band. Susan Terdeschi has an amazing voice. The music was great .... drinks an absolute ridiculous price...true gouging

Abbreviated Lineup and No-show bands not worth it

by stellablue on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This stop on the outlaw tour was not nearly the same as the others. There is no reason to call 4 bands, as good as they were, a "festival". with bands cancelling at the last minute and a serious lack of headliners on this stop, the fans were oversold and Ticketmaster under-delivered.

    Where was Lucas Nelson?

    by Woody51 on 2018-09-12Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Show was a ton of fun and they all really rocked it. However, I was disappointed that Lucas Nelson was a no show. He was listed as being there and that is one of the reasons I bought a ticket. I know on his Instagram he said he was stuck at an airport terminal, but then there were pics of him at Tiff, just saying....
