Owl City was the highlight of my week!!!!

by OntarioOwlCity on 2011-06-23Kool Haus - Toronto

Adam sounded better live than he did on his CD, he looked exactly the same as he does in Youtube videos, and he was so adorable flailing his arms, headbanging with his bangs flopping all over his head, and clapping his hands high above his head during the dance numbers. He was a charming, and quirky personality on stage, and the fact that I missed out on studying for my exam to see him perform is a testament to how WORTH IT this whole experience was. Adam's multi-talentedness is something everyone should definietly witness once in their lifetime. Throughout the show he played guitar, piano, and synths and he transitioned from each instrument so effortlessly. Plus you feel so special whenever he says "I wanna give everyone a big hug" or "I love you Toronto" because you feel as if he is speaking directly to you. I totally wish Adam came out to do a meet and greet, or at least visited Toronto more often!!!!

    An incredible concert!

by Anzio on 2011-06-23Kool Haus - Toronto

I was extremely excited to see Adam for the first time ever. However, didn't realize the event would be as... exciting as it was! I would definitely recommend going to an Owl City concert, they (and Adam) put on a fantastic show! I loved it, and wish I could relive it every day.

    Owl City was awesome

by HDGF on 2011-06-23Kool Haus - Toronto

Full of energy and drama. I took my youngest and her best friend (first concert) and they LOVED it. Was very exciting and gratifying to see the concert seeds planted. I thought it was fantastic too. I'm certainly a new fan of Owl City and Mat Kearney

Not what I expected, in a good way!

by ArnaldoPQ on 2011-06-23Kool Haus - Toronto

When I got there the first thing I realized is that Kool Haus had the perfect size for the event, not to crowded (maybe 1000 people there). Matt Kearney was the opening act and they didn't disappoint. When Owl City got on the stage the people was pretty pumped. Incredible lights and impeccable sound. In overall the concert was really calmed and I enjoyed every minute of it.

    Owl City...was magic

by AlliJay on 2011-06-23Kool Haus - Toronto

This is one of the best shows I've seen in a very long while. Both of the openers (unwed sailor and matt carne) were amazing, but adam young brought something even more special to the stage. The music sounded great, everybody sang along and we even got to see adam play the drums. Some performances owl city put on were moving and emotional and other songs were fun and got you ready to dance. It was a night I'll never forget!

Owl City in Toronto. Bananas. :)

by mimixo on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

Hi, :) I will start out by saying that this concert was excepetionly amazing. Most definetly the best concert I've ever been to, and I've been to quite a few. Adam is a true performer, and definetly has a way of making every single moment of the show entertaining. The show started with a performance by the band paper route, whom I must admit, I have not heard of before this show, but the band was amazing!. They were good live, and I think I will look into more of their music. Next was LIGHTS. I have been a fan of LIGHTS for a long time. I've seen her in concert and met her a little over a year ago, she has definetly got a bigger fan base now. She sings amazingly well live and really has a way of connecting with the croud. Her fan base has for sure gotten bigger the since her last show I went to. After the two wonderfull opening acts had played, it was time for Owl City to take the stage. The show started by Adam coming out in a bird costume! I definetly thought that was a brilliant idea. The costume completly shows that he's having just as much fun on stage as we are, singing along to his songs in the crowd. The show continued with more exeptional performances by Adam and his band. I really enjoyed the fact that the songs he sang were not only his recent ones, but aslo songs like "Dear Vienna" and "Air traffic" that are some of his older music. I've been a fan of Owl City for around a couple years now and greatly appreciated this. During the show, Adam told a few stories about his childhood and about his relatives in Canada. I thought this was a fun thing to know about. I'm glad he lets the audience know about his life. He ended the show with an encore. Before the performance of the song "Hello Seattle" he threw bananas in the audience! That was the last song of the night, and it was performed amazingly. Owl City has been my favourite band/artist for a long time. I truly love his music and I think he certainly expresses himself in a unique way. I am proud to say I have been to an Owl City concert.

    Owl City was PHENOMENAL!!!

by heathabee on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

Owl City (Adam Young) and his opening acts (Paper Route and Lights) were wonderful. It was a full evening of wonderful music from incredible artists. The only ONLY downside was the venue; general admission was not my favourite, and with such a young crowd (16-20 majority, I'd say) it became pushy. They haven't learned proper concert etiquette. But the bands were amazing and they played all of their great hits! Had a wonderful wonderful time!

    Owl City=amazing!

by Kailz on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

Ok, so the concert was so great. Paper Route, who I had never heard of before, opened with some songs that I think I will be looking into :) Lights was next, with another great set. And finally, Adam and the band. Adam came out on stage in a bird sweater, and starting playing. He worked the crowd, danced around, and got everyone involved. The only bad thing I would say, and it has nothing to do with Adam, but at the Sound Academy, it's all standing, and the people infront of me were quite tall, so I had a hard time seeing. Also, it felt really short, but I think that was just because I didn't want it to be over. But the music was great. I enjoyed it! Can't wait till the next one :) Owl City forever! <3

lights and owl city what a combo!

by connien on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

Show was amazing! Lights was her usual glowing and crowd pleasing delight and Owl City blew us away! The violinist and the cellist was hauntingly pleasing to the ears! Vocals were amazing and the amount of work and knowledge by this young man is incredible! Definitely worth seeing!

    Good Bands...Bad Crowd

    by Jaded1 on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

Bands were wonderful...really enjoyed Paper Route and Lights! Would see the bands again if it was an assigned seating venue. Crowd was very pushy with everyone trying to get to the front. Hint to the pushers for next time...want to be near the front, then get in line early like we were. I have been in general admission metal concerts that were less pushy than this crowd.

Owl City and friends great, venue so-so.

by mollyseven on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

First off let me say that Paper Route was great!, Lights was kinda o.k but sang wayyyy off key multiple times....yeah, she'd have been booted off american idol for that performance. Owl city was great, a great list of songs and great performance. The venue on the other hand was weak. The stage is not up high enough for people to see, unless you were in the first couple of rows and you weren't over 5'8 it was a waste of time being in the crowd...you couldn't see. We had to stand at the back most of the time and then people were sitting on top of the bars and blocking views also....kinda a drag. Probably the worst concert for view I have ever been to. It's too bad. Also....it was a long set up in between acts especially between paper route and lights....seriously for what we got it was long.

    Amazing performances!!!!

by Owlcitylover on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

The concert was amazing! Good mixture of old and new songs! Adam came out wearing a feathery chicken outfit and it was hilarious, got the crowd excited and dancing! Lights and paper route were awesome too! Great concert for such a small venue, I just wished they would have played longer!

    OWL CITY

by RoxyKeeper on 2010-04-28Sound Academy - Toronto

daughter was reason for going. Waited too long for Owl City and then couldn't hear the vocals. Left before playing any of the songs we wanted to hear because it was frustrating not being able to hear the vocals after waiting for so long to see OC.

    Mediocre.

    by cberry610 on 2010-04-05Vogue Theatre - Vancouver

I was pleasantly surprised by Paper Route, the first band. I wasn't expecting them to be as talented as they were. I was actually more impressed with them than Owl City. Lights was amazing. It is possible she is even better live than on her CDs. Owl City was mediocre. There was nothing really special about the music, in fact all of the songs sounded exactly the same.

    Slightly disappointed..

by SayHello on 2010-04-04The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

...in Owl City, considering that he was headlining the tour. I think everyone thought that part of the show was amazing with all the bright lights, and cute dancer/other musicians, but overall, the music itself was just average. I expected a lot more, since I thought Owl City was a really unique artist himself. I was especially disappointed since he only played part of The Saltwater room, my favourite song. My favourite part of his performace was when he got the crowd dancing when he played The Tip of the Iceberg. LIGHTS was amazing, I loved her stage presence and how she interacted and spoke to the audience more. She played mostly all the songs off the album, just not my favourite one (Up Up and Away). Paper Route was my favourite out of all three, too bad they only played half an hour. I downloaded their ablum Absence beforehand to get a feel of the music, found some good songs, but didn't expect anything great. But their performance was just amazing. Chad Howat a beautiful voice, and their sound is truly unlike any other. They were also really nice to everyone after the show, where they signed autographs and took picture.

    Owl City & Lights!

by PandaBacon on 2010-04-04Vogue Theatre - Vancouver

I had been looking forward to this concert ever since i got my presale ticket, not gonna lie. I booked the day off work super early, made sure i went to the bank and got money out for a shirt...i was so ready. me and my friends got there at 5:30 and stood in line outside, in the pouring rain and wind storm...but none of us were sour about it, because we knew we were so close to seeing Adam Young and Lights !! The concert itself was moving. Paper Route was amazing, which was good, because i didn't know who they were up until this concert. Then Lights came on and i sang every song with her. Both her keytars stopped working in the middle of the set, but she was really chill about it, and we all got a good laugh, herself included. She's such a chill, cute lady...and so humble. i noticed right away. that's always refreshing. Them Owl City came on, and it was an experience. he actually had me tearing up during a few of his songs. not because i'm obsessed with him (because i'm actually not), but his lyrics and the way he was singing them...there was so much emotion there. the line "Please don't let me go, i desperately need you" made me think of all the people in my life who i've attached myself to, only to have them leave when i needed them the most...it hit home. I'm only been to two other concerts that have ever done that for me, and it was Death Cab For Cutie, and Muse w/ Metric and 30 Seconds to Mars. ....I still haven't gotten over it, and i'm in a constant good mood just thinking about that concert. =)

Owl City Blew My Mind! <3

OMG! Owl City was amazing live! Lights was also good. Adam has lots of fun dancing around the stage. At the show I went to he flung water everywhere. It was lots of fun and I will definitaly do it again! :3
