Oxford Stomp
by C. B. on 2019-07-17SHAW MILLENNIUM PARK - CalgaryConcert was great! The food isn’t great, especially $15 for the nachos, would at least expect the type of nachos you’d get at the Saddledome but not even close!

Fantastic setup to watch the fabulous performers - lots of room to move around. While the lines could be long at time they moved quickly (i.e. bathroom, food, etc). LOVED that there was a water refill station. Watched Amanda Marshall and Bryan Adams - both gave stellar performances. Like the venue better than at Fort Calgary.
Loved the music especially Brian Adams. The drink line ups need more space as you are jammed against a fence at the back of the lines. Food was not exceptional but it was good and the lineup wasn’t too long.
Great event, wonderful venue, well put together. My only suggestion for improvement (which would deliver the missing star) would be the bar area for the general admission folks was complete chaos. There was only one bar area in a fenced in section so it was a fight through the crowds of people who were in line to get drinks to get into a line as well as get out of the bar area. If they had more bar areas or perhaps even beer tubs throughout the venue, it would have relieved the traffic issues that were caused from the sheer numbers of people trying to get drinks.
Venue does not have enough room for the people need larger venue, otherwise great show.
Great event, it would have been nice if there were better signs to direct people to the beverages and food section
We were glad we had Ultra VIP tickets for this event and felt it was well worth it. Our only complaint was that there was very very limited seating provided in the area that was taken up as soon as the gates opened and many not being used, but being held by people for others and many remained unused the entire time. There could have been additional stools provided around the perimeter at the fencing that would not have interfered with the space. Information on the set up could have been better. Saying shade was provided was misleading, as the only shade was in the bar tent area behind the stage. Hardly, a viewing area for the concert. It was nice to be close to the amenities as a VIP and up front for the concert which was excellent. Using the C-Train was an excellent way to travel to and from the concert.
We missed WIL but saw the Odds, Amanda Marshall and Bryan Adams. The three artists we saw were great. We were a bit apprehensive heading to this event as we’re use to festivals where chairs and tarps/blankets are allowed but lots of folks were just sitting on the grass which was fine. Couple minor complaints; why toss the water bottle tops when selling water bottles? You’re then trying not to knock the bottle over till it’s done. More toilets would have been nice (long line ups). That’s it, great concert event for a good cause.
Amanda Marshall was truly amazing - so glad to see her back performing. Bryan Adams was phenomenal, had everyone singing and dancing and he didn't want to leave. Weather was perfect too!
Bryan Adams and Amanda Marshall put on a. Incredible performance
Concert line up and venue are great. Entry and exiting are quick and easy. Food is reasonable. Beverage service starts out good, however the lineups grow as the evening progresses. By 6:30 it's a 20 minute wait for 2 beverages - Oxford should double the beverage concessions.
Good lineup of entertainers - all put on excellent performances Well organized with very short spans between acts - the seven hours between gate opening and end of final act seemed to go very quickly
A group of us were all in the Coors “VIP” section after having a great experience at the 2017 event. I was not able to make the 2018 event due to a scheduling conflict so can’t comment on that... but this year’s event was not nearly as good, even with Amanda Marshall’s amazing voice. We also enjoyed Brian Adams... but we were all quite disappointed with how oversold the Coors “VIP” section was. Beer lines were incredibly long, likely at least partially due to the square payments... I don’t recall if there was an Ultra VIP in 2017, but I recall food being available quite close, drink tickets being included (which helps to speed up lines) and having a decent amount of seating being available... including simple solutions like hay bales. While I might consider a future year in “Ultra VIP” I certainly will not consider Coors “VIP” in future.
They definately need more drink lines. Right when Bryan Adams was coming on I waited 25 minutes to get a drink and missed a bunch of the main act.
