Pop-rock musician Phillip Phillips wowed “American Idol” fans and judges in season 11 with spot-on covers of iconic songs including Steve Wonder’s “Superstition”, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”. Phillips’ scratchy vocals, reminiscent of his own idol Dave Matthews, are exemplified in his chart-topping debut single “Home” as well as sweet, mellow tracks like “So Easy”. His platinum-selling first album The World from the Side of the Moon includes the upbeat love song “Gone, Gone, Gone”, which is sure to be a wedding song for Phillips fans for years to come. The Georgia-born singer/songwriter wound up taking home the title of American Idol, but only after dealing with congenital kidney issues that landed him in the hospital for eight surgeries during the “Idol” season. Phillips recovered in time for the “American Idol LIVE Tour”, performing major-market concerts alongside the season’s nine other top contestants. The 46-city trek sold more than a quarter of a million tickets overall, placing it at No. 62 in the Top 200 North American tours of 2012.
The best part was his performance of his hits. Concert was very short: 1 hour plus 1 encore of 2 songs. Poor value for cost of the tickets. A lot of time listening to the two guitars "jamming ". That went on way too long.
Great show, instrumental was amazing. Would see him again. The only down fall was I thought the show was a little short, would have loved to hear a few more songs!!!
He put on a good show considering he didn't have many songs out yet. Wonderful band.... Very talented :)
Sounded GREAT; excellent playlist; only played for a little over an hour though. For a young guy I would have expected a 2 hour show. Needs to get some coaching on how to connect with the audience more. We were glad we went and enjoyed our evening with Phil.

Phillip Phillips was amazing as always! 4th time seeing him in concert. I just detest all the "free" ticket holders who pop in for a few songs to check it out then leave. They should be on stand by and let the true fans have a chance at the seats. Every show I have seen at Rama, this happens. Warn the artists ahead of time that a large majority of the crowd are sitters and with walkers and wheel chairs. They aren't much fun, nor do they care about the artist performing. Great venue for artists to play, just draws a poor crowd.
I was impressed with his voice. I think he has improved/matured since his time on Idol. He is very passionate about his music and it shows. He did more instrumental than I like but it showed his overall talent.
Phil is a good entertainer and I enjoyed the show. It was a little bit short (~1 hr) ....I would have enjoyed a long show. Overall, the venue was very nice. I really enjoy Windsor Caesars for shows.
Awesome concert! I brought a skeptic, not looking forward to an American Idol's concert and he was totally impressed. Phillips is an incredible musician. It was a good old fashion rock concert. No gimmicks just talent. We would go again in a heartbeat.

Musicians were talented but not what I was expecting from Phillip Phillips. This was more of a rock concert than his mellow style. I was very disappointed. So disappointed that we left before the concert was over.

I have seen Phillip perform 3 times (twice in Ontario and once in Ohio) and every concert is better than the last! He sings his heart out, involves his amazing band, and really entertains the crowd! I would never pay to see a performer 3 times in most cases, but I just can't resist when Phillip comes to town!!
We went to see him only because we were cheering for him on American Idol. We were blown away by how great a show he put on. Love his new music.

Always enjoy hearing Phillip Phillips in concert....too bad he wasn't feeling well. Rama's sound system isn't the best quality, but I like the smaller venues
My disappointment did not fall with Phillip, it was with the audience. He tried to rally the troops and get people up dancing and singing along but most people just sat on their butts. I suppose this is the fallout when the venue comps tickets to people that really don't have an interest in the performer. He sounded great and his band was A1.
I loved Phillip on American Idol and also like his CD but the concert was much different. Lots of blues/jazz music. More solos and music than I think singing. It was just too much for us. The 3 songs that he sang that I did know...radio and CD were good...just not my type of concert.
