Phoenix Suns History

As Arizona's original professional sports franchise, the Phoenix Suns were established in the NBA in 1968 and for the last 30 years have been entertaining fans in downtown Phoenix at Footprint Center. The rich history of the franchise includes some of most memorable teams in NBA history, including the 1975–76 "Sunderella Suns," the 1992–93 team that featured Charles Barkley and reached the NBA Finals, and the "Seven Seconds or Less" era teams, during which Steve Nash was twice named the league's MVP.

Enshrined in the Suns’ Ring of Honor are Alvan Adams, Barkley, Tom Chambers, Jerry Colangelo, Walter Davis, Cotton Fitzsimmons, Connie Hawkins, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Al McCoy, John MacLeod, Nash, Joe Proski, Dick Van Arsdale and Paul Westphal.

The Phoenix Suns had a successful 2020–21 season, winning the Western Conference and narrowly falling in the NBA Finals to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Suns ended the 2021–2022 season with a franchise record of 64 wins and finished with the NBA's best record by eight games above the second best, the league's largest differential in 22 years. They also made back-to-back appearances in the Western Conference semifinals in 2022 and 2023.

    Great Entertainment

by Nelly71 on 2015-04-06US Airways Center - Phoenix

We were able to watch two teams competing for a playoff spot and the first half of basketball was one of the best I ever seen. Extremely fast pace, physical and intense. The Suns do a great job of in game and half time entertainment.

    First NBA Experience was Fantastic

by ADPP on 2015-03-22US Airways Center - Phoenix

I was worried that our expectation for the game would not be met. That wasn't the case. From the easy parking to the concert that greeted us outside we were sold. The venue was clean and the staff was friendly & helpful. Our seats were great. The show put on kept the game breaks moving quickly. We'd definitely do this again.

    Suns vs Memphis

by DM83 on 2014-01-05US Airways Center - Phoenix

New season, new roster. Game featured teams actually playing defence. Unfortunately, the Suns tried to improve the sets in the first seven rows, which was needed. However, they are narrower, and have no cup holders....for the higher price, one would expect more convenience.

Phx vs San Antonio March 27/12

by DM83 on 2012-03-29US Airways Center - Phoenix

Great game, Spurs look great. Must of hit first 10 shots, and that was the diff. Suns came back to take a lead, but Spurs shot the lights out. Great seat 2 rows off the court baseline. Not the players bench side though. Lexus club free food/ pix with Cheerleaders. One fan actually got a water for me when I asked where they were. Can't wait till next time.

    Suns vs. Raptors

by Gato on 2012-01-26US Airways Center - Phoenix

What a disappointment. Our seats were great but couldn't say that about the play of the Suns! Up by 15 points and they squandered that by the end of the second period. After that they looked like they didn't care passing with reckless abandon and then totally going to sleep. No wonder they are 6-11 with no hope in sight. Nash can't do everything every night. Come on the rest of you wake up! Wow those mini pizza's are the best thing ever. Hot, tasty and just the right size with a giant beer.
