Ponoka Stampede Kids Rodeo Day is always a blast!! Our family has made it a tradition. Any seat under the grand stands and out of the sun for your littles is a good seat. From the trick riders to the bull riders and then the rodeo clown with jokes for everyone, you'll be entertained from start to finish.
Great facility and these guys put on a great show, they know what they are doing!!
I was expecting the beer gardens open on Saturday during the intermission. Maybe next time.
Very well run with transportation to and from parking,, very few lulls in the action with an excellent sound and video screen. Lots going on around the arena which made it a lot fun for pretty much the whole day !! Had a great day !!

Ponoka Stampede is very professional from their proplemovers to the rodeo and chuckwagons. Their committee and all the volunteers should be commended. We will be back!!
The process of getting tickets needs a change. I opted for picking up my reserved tickets at the stampede office just prior to the afternoon performance. They couldn’t find them and we had already waited in line for quite a while, as the couple ahead of us had the same problem. Last year it was a simple scan on our phone. The stampede itself was great! We will be going again next year, but I think we will have them mail our tickets.
The whole stampede experience was wonderful, the concert was so great! 🤩 Good value for my money.
This has been and continues to be the best pro rodeo performance of all times.
I arrived on location for the stampede, proceeded to head to the washrooms. I was waiting for a friend of mine to come out, meanwhile, I saw a lady having a smoke. So I looked around, being outside, I saw no issue why we couldnt light up where we were. I made my way to a quiet corner and had my smoke. When a security guard came along and kicked me off the premisis for smoking canabis. I was by myself, no one around me, outside. It was confiscated from me, my friend and I were escorted off the grounds, yes thats right, they kicked my friend out as well even though she was not smoking. I was not making a scene or anything over it. I even asked where I can go to find the smoke pit. They told me to leave immediately. They took my picture, they shared it with everyone there. It was a huge embarassement. I'm in my mid 30's, not looking for trouble. I truly thought that smoking canabis followed the rules of tobacco for outside, make sure your away from doors/entrances, designated area....but as I walked around the grounds afterwards(cause my friend faught hard for us to stay and watch the event) I noticed many other people smoking ALL over the grounds, not just in desginated areas. My friend ended up talking with Murray Schur, who by the way, is condasending and talked down to us women. He actually had my friend tell me the rules and scold me as if I was a school child, in order to stay and watch the rodeo. He also scolded my friend for not checking out the rules of the event. A fair warning and heads up on the rules, as the only sign i saw was "NO SMOKING **IN** RODEO GROUNDS" would have sufficed. I had yet to even show them my ticket to get in.
Firstly I requested seats for the Saturday performance and they were changed by Ticketmaster to Friday. No explanation given??The performances on Saturday are the finals of all daily competition winners for an opportunity to go into the Finals. So you can see why I was disappointed that my tickets were changed. The show itself was terrific as usual.. The venue is old but well maintained.
This was our 2nd time at the Ponoka Stampede, and from what we remembered 13 yeats ago, it was still a really great experience. Its a small town feeling, yet an incredibly big show. People are friendly, we paid once (and tix are very reasonably priced) to get into the show, and we could go back to the barns without needing a vehicle pass. Ponoka, you could show Calgary all of the ways to host a fan friendly event. We hope to make this an annual trip. Thank you to everyone who makes the Ponoka Stampede so good.
I have been planning my week at Ponoka for months. I wanted to experience everything the stampede had to offer. I went to the Farmers market, the parade, the Western Art and trade show, the chuck wagons, fireworks and the live entertainment nightly. Aaron Goodvin, the Recklaws, and Drew Gregory did not disappoint. I was full on in the mud and couldn’t feel my hands but I loved every moment. It was definitely one of the best weeks of my life. I am going back for sure. I can hardly wait for 2023.
It’s the best rodeo around Alberta to go to. Well run, lots of friendly people, excellent experience!
This is something we wait for every year. It is always a great time for the whole family. The chucks and rodeo are fantastic as well as all the midway boiths and activities.
I have been to many rodeos in Alberta but never made it to the Ponoka Rodeo Ponoka Rodeo was fantastic. Very nice facility. Parking was easy and free. Entertainment was very good. Rain and all it was a great experience. See you again next year.
Great time at the rodeo, seats were perfect and so was the weather. Organizers did a fantastic job.
The day was very good. Felt nice to be out and about. The only downside, it was a bit soggy.
