Well organized. Shuttles and free parking made it easy to get to. Got to see many pro players close up.

Up Close at the Canadian Open

by Zamman on 2016-07-27GLEN ABBEY GOLF CLUB - Oakville

There is no other sport where you can come up close and personal and watch professionals display their craft. With tickets to the Canadian Open spectators were witnesses to Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and a bright new Canadian golf star Jared Du Toit, to mention just a few of the 80 professional golfers that were at the Open this year. If you ever wanted to see a professional athlete up close as he played the game then your ticket allows you to come less than a meter away as they drive that golf ball over 350 yards! There is no sort that allows you to get that close. See you next year. I will be the guy right next to all of the top world players.

2016 Canadian Open at Glen Anbey

by Anonymous on 2016-07-27GLEN ABBEY GOLF CLUB - Oakville

This was our second time going to the open at Glen Abbey and we would definitely go again. The golf course is very well suited to fans watching as most greens are surrounded by hills for sitting on and great old shady trees for keeping cool. The central clubhouse hub makes it easier to visit many holes for a good all around view of the players and shots. The organization of the tournament is exceptionally good, most things were easy to find. Our only complaint would be the lack of any very good food. The prices were high for food and drinks which I guess is to be expected but it would be easier to take if some of the food was of a decent caliber. Kudos to Santa Carolina wines for having free tastings in a cool misty louging area.

Good tournament, but GC House not worth extra

by Frederer on 2016-07-27GLEN ABBEY GOLF CLUB - Oakville

Good tournament and course. Good thing Day is on the RBC payroll. It would be nice if we could also get Spieth and/or McIlroy. The Golf Canada house was not worth the extra money. You could not really see any shots on any hole (except the practice green) from its terrace. So it was really just a place to go eat out of the sun.

    Abbey is tops

by Dogsleggn on 2016-07-27GLEN ABBEY GOLF CLUB - Oakville

This is the second time we have gone to the Canadian open at Glwn Abbey and we are from Port Dover. It will be a shame if club links build on this site. Unforgivable!!!! The Abbey is the best stadium set up for the open in Ontario.the bus pick up and drop off was great and we will be back next year!! Waited 10-15 minutes for pizza I got beer very quickly I guess the price was scaring people off(2 beers $20). We waited for beaver bites from the beaver tail truck for 20 minutes and when they finally called us up they said they were out of ice cream and said we could take it without or take our mo way back. We took our money back and was the only negative thing all day. Need more food venders

On 18 get a louder microphone!!!

by PB45 on 2016-07-27GLEN ABBEY GOLF CLUB - Oakville

Event was excellent to attend and volunteers were very pleasant all over the course. I suggest RBC get as more professional "greeter" on 18th hole to introduce the players finishing their rounds. The microphone sound is very weak in general and the presentation is not that professional. Considering RBC's usual impeccable record I suggest the following. " Ladies and gentleman, coming up to the green, from the United States, Brad Snedecker and from Canada, Jared Du Toit. " NOT doing as they do, just, Brant Snedecker, from the United States of America, and Jared Du Toit from Canada"....very poor introductions. I suggest RBC look at some other PGA events and copy the intro's they do so our Canadian Open is "more professional" from a fans perspective. Glad they signed on as the major sponsor for the Canadian Open. Glad I bank there.

An Amazing Day in Golf and Charity

by Crabs on 2010-07-22St. George's Golf and Country Club - Etobicoke

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our day at the Mike Weir Chartiy Golf Tournament. Seeing all the celebrities along with the pro golfers was unforgetable. They were all very very kind and considerate to the admiring fans that we all were. Not sure how they kept their patience with some of the Amateurs that played with them though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It truely was a wonderful day and we are so glad we went.
