Richard Marx still has that voice you all remember. Nothing but him and his guitar or his piano made it a great show. Very funny man and I loved all the stories about the songs, his life, etc. Would go again and again.
It was such a treat to finally get to see Richard in concert. The music and his incredible voice speak for themselves. He was witty and self-deprecating and interacted with the crowd quite well. It helps that he is responsible for penning the song that my husband and I call "our song" (Right Here Waiting) and since this year we will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, we were thrilled that he included Calgary as one of the stops on his tour. If I had any criticisms of the evening it would be this: He was only on stage for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Though with ticket prices being $59/person we cannot be too disappointed. We would have paid more. And we don't believe it was the right venue for an artist of his calibre and talent. We would have liked to see him at the Southern Jubilee Auditorium at least. The atmosphere and crowd would have been more complementary to his music and allowed for an optimal experience. The 4-star rating is for the incredible artist he is . What stopped it from being "Amazing" was choice of venue.
Richard Marx can not only sing but his interaction with the crowd made the night very special. Played all his great hits, just wish he had played for longer. Great concert and a lovely venue.
Richard Marx truly is a spectacular artist. His voice was unbelievable and talented considering the entire concert was acoustic with him only playing the guitar or piano. I only wish he would tour more often and more dates in venues that would do his voice justice like the Winspear Centre in Edmonton AB.
Good singer and songwriter as ever before. He was very good in interaction with the audience. Drank or sober
I enjoyed how intimate it felt. He really talked to the audience. He was very funny, and charming. Great show. I loved hearing the acoustic versions of his songs. I had no idea that he was a songwriter for others.
Great concert. Voice and personality were awesome for about 70 mins. Way too short. Seemed like he had something else he had to go to. I mean for 100$ I expect at least 90 mins. Sang Angelina without Mike and couldn't really hear him in the back. It's like he was whispering. Kind of wierd. It's like he was singing to the first two rows. The overall concert was ok. Would not go to see him again. He's what I would call a "get in there take your money and run"
Love Richard Marx. Great event to take your wife out for a date. Loved his acoustic set and the venue was very intimate.
I enjoyed every minute. Could listen to Richard Marx for hours. Very intimate setting. Hope to see him again someday!
I am Very Much looking forward to seeing Richard Marx again in the future. His performance this past wknd was just Great! I really loved how he interacted with the audience & had some stories to share. I also enjoyed the mix of songs that he played....I really enjoyed the intimate feeling of the concert....Very talented man

The Richard Marx blew me out of the water. I was expecting a band but instead we were treated to a pure artist, solo, with just a guitar and piano playing some of the best written songs over the past 30 years. Richard looked and sounded sweet. He still has it. The songs kept rolling out. The subtle video background graphics were also well inserted and powerful. I'd have to say that Richard really knows how to work the crowd. He banter and jokes were outstanding. When we weren't singing along, we we all laughing our butts off. It was a fantastic show every second of the night. I recommend this show to anyone. Even people who don't know the songs. It really doesn't matter. You will walk away a fan regardless.
Richard plays the host, who wants his guests to have a great time. His humour is on spot and he knows you there to hear his hits. Well not just hear them but to sing along. I never heard a group of strangers sound so good. His voice is beautiful live especially without a microphone. I was rows and rows away but I still felt connected. Doesn't hurt that he great to look at as well. I love Richard more now than when I was 14.
Richard Marx put on a great show, unfortunately it only lasted an hour and 15 minutes with one encore.
For a one person show, this was well done and showcased his talent and sense of humour. Well worth the money.
Richard Marx is such a talented and unique singer and musician, and should be more recognized than he is today. He has a lot of great songs to mention in his career and on top of that he writes great songs for other talented musicians. I know my wife and other ladies are amazed at his TALENT and along with GOOD LOOKS makes it all worthwhile.
He played all his great songs, plus one ("Through My Veins") from his upcoming CD. I was struck by how well he interacted with the audience, the little bits of stories that he shared, and his pipes; wow, the guy sounds amazing live.
I really enjoyed the Richard Marx concert - he sang some new songs, and sang all his hits, and brought me back some good memories. Both my husband and I grew up listening to him, and he exceeded our expectations at the concert - it was a nice intimate setting, and it felt like he was a close friend of everyone, the way he chatted up with the audience. I had an absolutely wonderful time.
Better than I expected!! Can't wait for the new CD!!!
I'm not familiar with his music and couldn't wait for it to be over. Some girls were jumping and dancing and yelling. I don't get it - too old.
