About

Riverdance announces its 30th Anniversary celebrations.

Since Riverdance first emerged onto the world stage, its fusion of Irish and international dance and music has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. The Grammy award-winning music and the infectious energy of its mesmerising choreography and breathtaking performances has left audiences in awe and established Riverdance as a global cultural sensation.

To celebrate this incredible 30th year milestone, Riverdance will embark on a special anniversary tour, bringing its magic to audiences around the world.  This spectacular production rejuvenates the much-loved original show with new innovative choreography, costumes and state of the art lighting, projection and motion graphics. And for the first time Riverdance welcomes "The New Generation" of performers, all of whom were not born when show began 30 years ago.

John McColgan, Director of Riverdance said "It is both a privilege and a delight to celebrate 30 years of Riverdance and the unique journey it has taken us on. In those 30 years the show has transformed from a spectacle into a global cultural phenomenon - continuously evolving yet remaining true to its Irish roots. On this upcoming tour we look forward to welcoming 'The New Generation' of artists while paying tribute to the talented performers, creators, dedicated crew, and the millions of fans who have made Riverdance a worldwide celebration of music and dance."

Audiences will enjoy a unique and memorable performance which blends the traditional and the contemporary, showcasing the skill and passion of the world-class of dancers, musicians and singers in the Riverdance ensemble.

Composed by Bill Whelan. Produced by Moya Doherty. Directed by John McColgan.

  • 25 years and still going strong AMAZING SHOW

by HELENH on 2018-04-20Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Having seen the original show 24 years ago in the UK with Michael Flattley I was a little apprehensive as to how this would be. Have to say it was amazing, we had a clear view of the stage, the acoustics and size of the theater allowed you to be totally immersed in the experience. The dancers were synchronized and absolutely superb. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting an amazing show.

  • Great show!

by BobnJudy on 2018-04-19Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

We loved everything about the experience. Despite our front row seats (below the stage) we missed nothing. The opening song was ethereal, leaving us spellbound and ready for the rest. We laughed in delight when the Irish dancers and the black dancers began dueling with their tap dancing, but felt that particular act went on a bit too long. The haunting music of the Irish bagpipe, the fiddle that laughed, and sang, and danced its music across the audience is unforgettable. The Polish dancing came as a wonderful surprise. Indeed, the variety of routines illustrated the vast training and amazing talent of the dancers.

The dancing, music, singing and narration exceeded our expectations and having seen Lord of the Dance our expectations were high. There are no words to adequately describe the talent, energy, imagination and passion that come through this performance.

Was thoroughly entertainment the whole show. Loved the variety and pace of the show. The guest dancers, Russian and Flaminco, was a nice tough. Every element of the show, the dancers, music, singing was first class. Technically, it was perfect. Was sitting far away, and the sound was perfect. Lighting and staging also very good. All in all, and excellent show!

I have been going to see this since they first started, and must say, they have changed it up to include some new routines, and add some laughter to the show. Loved it! How they find young people so talented is beyond me!
