About

Riverdance announces its 30th Anniversary celebrations.

Since Riverdance first emerged onto the world stage, its fusion of Irish and international dance and music has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. The Grammy award-winning music and the infectious energy of its mesmerising choreography and breathtaking performances has left audiences in awe and established Riverdance as a global cultural sensation.

To celebrate this incredible 30th year milestone, Riverdance will embark on a special anniversary tour, bringing its magic to audiences around the world.  This spectacular production rejuvenates the much-loved original show with new innovative choreography, costumes and state of the art lighting, projection and motion graphics. And for the first time Riverdance welcomes "The New Generation" of performers, all of whom were not born when show began 30 years ago.

John McColgan, Director of Riverdance said "It is both a privilege and a delight to celebrate 30 years of Riverdance and the unique journey it has taken us on. In those 30 years the show has transformed from a spectacle into a global cultural phenomenon - continuously evolving yet remaining true to its Irish roots. On this upcoming tour we look forward to welcoming 'The New Generation' of artists while paying tribute to the talented performers, creators, dedicated crew, and the millions of fans who have made Riverdance a worldwide celebration of music and dance."

Audiences will enjoy a unique and memorable performance which blends the traditional and the contemporary, showcasing the skill and passion of the world-class of dancers, musicians and singers in the Riverdance ensemble.

Composed by Bill Whelan. Produced by Moya Doherty. Directed by John McColgan.

Unforgettable performance by amazing dancers and astounding musicians. The drummer was ethereal. 12/10 would see it again in a heartbeat! If it’s in your city do not miss it!!

  • Disappointed

by Sierra on 2022-04-19National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

We were very excited to be able to enjoy our first show since COVID. However it was difficult to concentrate when all you could hear was the slurping of drinks and the crunching of salt and vinegar chips. There was a flamenco but that seemed out of place with the show and 50/50 music numbers, dance numbers. Would have liked more dancing.

I loved seeing this show 25 years later! No Michael Flatley but great all the same.

Having seen Riverdance 25 years ago, this show had a lot to live up to. It was enjoyable and captured the excitement of the dancing that I remembered. I was able to take my daughter who just marveled at the production. For anyone who hasn't seen it, the show offered, music, singing, dance, and get entertainment. Thanks to all those dancers that are keeping the magic alive.

  • AWESOME performance

by Lenna on 2022-04-18National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

The seats were well centered, comfortable with lots of knee and leg room. The ushers were friendly and helpful in getting us to our correct row/seats. The Dancers/singers/musicians were incredible, so full of energy and filling the NAC with their love and enthusiasm for their art. We really appreciate having the ability to partake in such a high quality performance within an easy drive from our home (Arnprior). Thank you to everyone involved for a wonderful night. • WELL WORTH THE TRIP TO TOWN

by Laurelin on 2022-04-17Leon's Centre - KingstonRating: 5 out of 5

The Leon Centre is a pretty good venue for all types of events, located right down town. Parking can be a problem but overall not too bad. Riverdance The 25th Anniversary was a great show. From the graphics, to the musicians and vocalists and of course the dancers. The choreography, precision and performance of those dancers are totally amazing. If you haven’t seen Rivetdance then you are missing out on some great entertainment.

  • Amazing show!

by Tokyovoice on 2022-04-17Leon's Centre - KingstonRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Riverdance 22 years ago in Toronto when I had never heard of it and didn’t know what to expect. I was completely blown away! This time it came to Kingston, so I was happy to see it in a smaller venue. The show was as great as I remember. The first time I was so focussed on the incredible footwork of the dancers that I missed all the other elements. This time, I was also amazed by the beautiful singing, the scenic and ever-changing backdrop, and the sensational band, particularly the drummer. It’s a spectacular show, well worth the money. I think the energy of the audience was greater in Toronto, so I enjoyed it more the first time, but I was happy to see it again on its 25th anniversary tour and would highly recommend it, even if dancing isn’t your thing. You’ll be amazed!

  • Amazing talent but hard to see it!

    by 3canoes on 2022-04-17Leon's Centre - KingstonRating: 4 out of 5

The dancers are incredibly talented. It was hard to see though because there were no AV screens or cameras to zoom in on the foot work and formations. Unless you were immediately in front of the stage, you only saw the formations and not the precision of the feet positions. I have seen it 3 times. I think the venue was better in the other events. The show itself was outstanding but the venue failed to equal the performance.

  • Loved it!!

by Lisa on 2022-04-17FirstOntario Concert Hall - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Saw Riverdance many years ago. Enjoyed this just as much. Loved seeing the musicians highlighted as much as the dancers. Only complaint wasn't about the show but the interruptions from people being seated late or getting up during show. Bring back the days of locking the doors if late! Please, be on time and wait for intermission. It is very disruptive.

  • Fantastic!!!!!
