Been a Long Time Since I Rock and Rolled!!!

by Bdoll on 2011-01-24Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This was a gift to my husband a Zeppelin/Plant fan, I wasn't overly enthusiastic. Once the show started i was pleasantly surprised that I was actually enjoying Plant's new sound. But I must say the Sony Centre became electric when Ramble On rolled off his tongue. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the night which was my aim the fact that I to got to get up and sing was a bonus.

Wow, I finally saw Robert "freakin' Plant!!!!

by Vertigogo7777 on 2011-01-24Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I just saw this show in Toronto on Saturday night (Jan 22/11) . It was a very good show, but me being a Led Zep fan from way back, I left the Sony Centre feeling somewhat unsatified. And it wasn't just because of the very dimly lit stage. I went there totally expecting the old songs to be redone with a country "twang" to them, which was fine. But doing Rock'n'Roll with a "country twang", PLEASE! After all, the song is called "Rock'n'Roll" for goodness sakes! You can change the feel and arrangements of any other song but why couldn't he play this one the way it was meant to be played. It was evident he still certainly had that pipes to pull it off for his last song. I know you're the greatest Mr. Plant, you're my idol, my hero, you're the ultimate rock legend, but even YOU doing a COUNTRY version of Rock'n'Roll is a sacrilege! And yeah, that's what I'd say to him to his face as I bowed before him! Still worth 5 stars because, after all, it was Robert Plant!!!!

Always amazed how Robert Plant can re-invent himself with his musical talents -- equally amazing is how little lighting and equipment there was -- and no special effects. Loved that fact -- all about the music.
