    Great show but ?

by R. G. on 2023-02-28Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Show was great . As was atmospheres but only one thing I was not happy with . Maybe it’s me as a musician but live music is way too low . Tourn it up so audience can feel the beauty of people playing it live . Just me . Over all great show but boost the dam volume on real instruments 🎸 drums, and keyboard

    I Love Rock N Roll

by Kenn on 2023-02-28Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Overall, I really enjoyed the show. I've seen the movie dozens of times but had never seen the stage performance until now. The music is what makes this story so great and I think that it could do without all the sexual innuendos (or less of them). A couple suggestions to make it slightly more "Canadian": 1) When the "Street Boyzzz" are referenced - they should say Boyzzz with a "zed" instead of "zee". 2) Have a couple references at least (if not songs) to big Canadian Stars of the 80s (Bryan Adams or Corey Hart). I'm sure "Run To You" or "Sunglasses At Night" could easily be tied in.

Great performances by the entire cast

by Conjets on 2023-02-28Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Great performance by all I did find that the music was drowning out the voices of the performers during a few numbers I also think the costuming & hair could be “polished” Over all I enjoyed the performance!

    Great Night!

by Debra on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Loved how the audience was pulled into the show. We all know the songs might as well sing your heart out in 80’s style!

    Rock of Ages

by Cyn on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

The cast was great and the show was awesome. Their voices are amazing, great talent and all of the cast were so good. Only thing i would like to maybe improve a bit was the overall sound system, it would have been more rock and roll if the sounds were more louder a bit. But overall it was amazing and 5 stars for me.

    Rock of Ages ROCKS !!

by LG85 on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

It was amazing start to finish. The show was funny, exciting and sad sometimes all at the same time. The singers and dancers were amazing!! I would definitely go again and would let anyone who asked know they must see this show. One last thing, this show was million times better then the movie.

    Disappointing

by Al on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

It was a bit disappointing. I was expecting it to be like the original production a few years back. Vocals were not powerful enough or loud. Choreography was a bit cheesy and amateurish and it had poor humour. Did not enjoy the S&M parts either. And too many original songs were altered and not in a positive way. It’s rock show and it should have been a lot cooler.

    Great show.

by Davey on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Amazing talented singers, all of them. The comedy throughout the show is great. The lead actress and lead actor have great chemistry with each other and beautiful voices. I highly recommend this show.

    Overall good show...sound quality issues

by Jenn on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Music selection was good; dancing choreograph is a bit off sequence depending on the dance; at times the sound quality wasn't clear - e.g., couldn't hear the singer - also, high pitch ringing. However, overall, we had a good time. Price for tickets were TOO high especially since you pay a premium price for Mezzanine tickets yet could purchase lower priced Balcony tickets and then move down to Mezzanine. Bizarre why this is allowed, or why they don't charge the same price rather than dinging those who purchase more expensive tickets.

    Spectacular!

by CrazyD on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Although this isn’t the first time I’ve seen Rock of Ages, I attended the original performance a number of years ago, it was well worth the money! The story line is great, the actors were superb and the music, as expected, was awesome. I sang along to every song. About the only negative thing I can say about it is that some of the spoken dialogue was a bit muted and hard to hear. TURN IT UP! WAAAY UP!! 🤘😎🤘

    Rock of Ages

by Joyce on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Sound was off on a couple of numbers. Got the valentines half price deal. If I would of paid full price; I would have been really disappointed. Still some parts were entertaining. The dancers were amazing ! Other political crack comments could be favourably left out. Still a production that feels it was rough around the edges.

    Award Winning Performance

by Jacob on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Everything was planned out perfectly. It was the second open night and they were still having some technical difficulties but that didn’t stop them. The performances were truly outstanding. Everyone was committed to giving their all and everyone enjoyed the show. Sherry and Drew’s on stage chemistry was one for the ages! Get it ;)

    Awesome Show

by Samanna17 on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

I really enjoyed the show. I loved the actors and the dancing. The music was from my generation and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only issue is probably just an opening night bug but some of the mikes kept cutting out making little bits of dialogue hard to hear.

    Rocks

by Darkmethods on 2023-02-27Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Overall the musical was entertaining and a great time. The mix of comedic moments and audience participation was great. At Elgin Theater seating has a great view from any location. I thought that it was great that Rock of Ages had semi live music. My only critique is that at some of the numbers the sound lacked depth and was a bit shallow. Light at times. The sound engineering setup should be more full for a musical of this quality. Especially a rock musical. Not saying that it had to be ear shattering loud but it should be full. The quality of the performance deserved a full rich sound. Subs,,bass ,mid and highs. I am sure that they will make adjustments for the future performances. Rocks of Ages Rocks!

    Meh

by s. M. on 2023-02-26Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre - Toronto

Sound was not great in the theatre. Even though it was a piece looking back in time it seemed very dated. Female lead was not the best singer at times nor was the actor who played guy who owned the club. Whole thing felt very flat. We had a whole row behind us of women all in rock costumes clearly having a good night out but they screamed and talked through the whole show plus sang along at full volume to every song so it was hard to hear the actual performers at times. While they were having fun it spoiled the experience for us. Unless the music means a lot to you I didn’t think it was a very good show.
