About

With his 1978 No. 1 single, Rod Stewart famously asked the world “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” 100 million record sales later, it’s safe to say the world answered “Yes.” As one of the top-selling artists of all time, with a career spanning four decades, the British singer-songwriter is one of the most celebrated figures in rock and roll history. The times may have changed, but Stewart’s appeal hasn’t – with his 28th studio album, 2013’s Time, the raspy crooner once again topped the UK Albums Chart – the first time he’d done so since the release of his Greatest Hits Volume 1 in 1979. Stewart got his start as a solo artists in the early ‘70s, achieving his first mainstream success with blues rock hit “Maggie May” from 1971’s Every Picture Tells a Story. In the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, the singer would adopt disco and new wave influences to much success, including the 1978 No. 1 Blondes Have More Fun and 1981’s Tonight I’m Yours, which featured the hit “Young Turks.” On Tour in 2013, Stewart has treated ticket buyers to rollicking sets of his greatest hits, proving that “Rod the Mod” still knows how to give one heck of a live concert.

Rod Stewart is a great showman. His band consists of very professional musicians. We were amazed at the crowd singing with Rod which made him feel at home. hats off to the Vancouver fans for participating with Rod in a party atmosphere which was very enjoyable to see. Rod - You Have It

by concerty on 2009-08-09General Motors Place - Vancouver

A true entertainer. Great music. Funny. Back up support complementing it. Thank Rod for asking people to sit down. To have to stand all the time it is exhausting.

    Rod still has it!

by Chelsy on 2009-08-09General Motors Place - Vancouver

This was one of the best concerts that I have been to lately. Rod put on a great show. The only negative was that the bank drowned him out in the early part of the show.

    past his sell by date

by awfanjo on 2009-08-09General Motors Place - Vancouver

dreadful warm up act the KIn...just noise rod played all the right stuff but the music drowned him out...was this on purpose? would have liked a more front and centre Rod and less of the band. for the first time thought he looked and acted his age lacked the energy to deliver a convincing performance.

    Too Short for the Price

by Girlwonder on 2009-08-09General Motors Place - Vancouver

Rod Stewart still has it at age 64 - but doesn't have the stamina to match the ticket prices. For $165 (incuding fees) I expect more than 90 minutes of entertainment.

Rod the Mod as Great as Ever

by Csuli on 2009-08-09General Motors Place - Vancouver

I saw Rod Stewart for the first time 31 years ago and after last night's show, it's great to see he still has the power to get the audience on their feet and make a few girls cheer with appreciation as he shook his famous tush. I loved it - the show took me right back to the days when spikey hair, glittery jackets and disco/pop were all the rage. Fabulous entertainment - thanks Rod!

this was the wrong venue for this act---we just about left but gladly stayed for rod------what target market were they attempting to reach---shameful and at best about 2 songs too long---mr. stewart is one superb showman. serv-ce charge is somewhat obscene

    An unforgettable evening.

by maggie39 on 2009-08-09General Motors Place - Vancouver

Simply the best. An amazing evening. Couldn't be better. It was nice to see so many younger people there too. One thing that amazed me is that he looked like he was enjoyng it as much as the audience. Dancing in the isles and etc. Looking forward to doing it again. Love it. Thanks.

    Rod Stewart still rocks!!

by Reeney on 2009-08-09General Motors Place - Vancouver

We've been attending Rod Stewart concerts for many years - I think we've been to all, except for one of his concerts. There usually isn't an opening act & I prefer his concert without an opening act, but I guess we all have to slow down at some point! Once Rod came on the stage, the energy in the room heated up. I think the sound system was a bit off last night, though. There were times when you couldn't hear Rod's voice over the feedback of the guitars. When you did hear his voice, it was his usual raspy, sexy self! I can't wait for the next concert & as soon as his new CD comes out, we'll be purchasing it.
