About

Roger Waters found international fame as a founding member of legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Selling over 250 million albums worldwide and being inducted into both the British and American Rock & Roll Halls Of Fame, Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Roger Walters has also had tremendous success as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums and touring extensively all across the globe.
Roger was the creative force behind the prime years of Pink Floyd's impressive run. From the classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1968 until Final Cut in 1983, Walters was responsible for the lyrics, arrangement and concept behind every album they released. By the time he left the band in 1985 they had been firmly established as one of the most critically acclaimed and best selling bands in popular music history. Albums such as The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall are some of the best selling albums of all time and still sell literally thousands of copies every year to this day.
After leaving Pink Floyd he moved into solo projects with albums such as Radio K.A.O.S and Amused To Death, once again concept albums in his unique style. In 1990 just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he staged his most elaborate concert ever with a giant outdoor performance in Berlin where the Wall once stood. Featuring guest performances from the likes of Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell and Cyndi Lauper, the concert registered an official attendance of over 200,000 people. The official live album, titled The Wall - Live, was released shortly afterwards and quickly went Platinum. This period of his career also saw Roger collaborate with artists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on various projects.
After taking a seven year break from both public eyes and the music industry, Roger returned with a bang in 1999 with a tour that started small and quickly grew. With more modest venues quickly selling out, more dates and larger venues were quickly added as the return tour expanded worldwide. For over three years Roger toured the world, culminating with a performance in front of over 70,000 at Glastonbury Festival in 2002. In 2005 Pink Floyd played together for one last time at charity event Live 8. Roger has continued his solo tours on and off since then, often performing special arrangements of Pink Floyd material mixed with his solo work.

Roger Waters is in a league of his own.

by stramboli on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Best concert I have seen in decades. Excellent sound, visuals and theatrics I've seen since Floyd performed the Dark Side of the Moon. It is nice to hear music and vocals that are not hidden behind a wall of excessive bass. Real music for real people.

    Incredible Show, a Must see!

by XtraKrispi on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

What an amazing night, from the pyrotechnics to the flying (yes, flying) pig, Roger Waters put on an incredible show! The whole production was top notch, anyone who even remotely enjoys Pink Floyd, or good music, needs to see this show (especially considering David Gilmour will be joining Roger Waters at one point in the tour)!

    Roger Waters' Swan Song

by steelerdude on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I enjoyed the show. Was my 3rd time seeing Roger in last 4 years. The Wall show was visually stunning. As always Roger had a great group backing him up of accomplished session musicians who know his material well. In a perfect world we were all hoping that the opening night was the time that Doug Gilmour would decide to play with Waters but it wasn't to be. Oh well. One can dream. :) If this was Roger's swan song what can I say except that one of the greatest rock writers of all time went out with bang and not a whimper. Well done Roger.

Great show. Blackberry video lights annoying.

by Styles on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I have nothing but raves for Roger Waters. The one thing that really is lame is the amount of people filming the show on their phones and blackberry's. Back in the 80's and 90's you would see the glow of cigarette lighters. Now it is LCD screens and video lights. Come on people!! The lady beside me watched the entire show through the screen of her blackberry. So lame. Do these people really pay hundreds of dollars to go to a show only to spend the entire time looking though their phone or crackberry??? I am so dissapointed in this lame generation.

    Roger Waters/The Wall Live

by TammyD on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Expectations exceeded!! I deliberately did not read up on the show prior to the event... All I knew from what I have heard in the past was that a wall would be built and at some point it would come down. I had also heard about the spitting incident from the '70s, and that Roger Waters could be quite bristly... Beyond the creativity and ambition of the show itself, it was an added thrill to see how much Waters enjoys performing the show, how much he enjoys the audience's reaction and how much he interacted with the audience. I was pumped to be watching the first show of the tour. I have a new-found respect for the album in its entirety. I can't get it out of my mind! I am grateful for such an amazing experience!!

by Dickfore on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

If I was ever asked "what is the one concert would you want to see most", I would always answer, The Wall performed Live by Pink Floyd. I never thought I would have the opportunity to have this wish come true. Although it was only peices of Pink Floyd, it was still well put together and exceeded my expectations.

    Roger Waters

by lucyS on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Spectacular show!!!!! Sir Roger Waters(as he too should be knighted) delivered the performance of a lifetime!! His voice and guitar playing were right on. I have seen many concerts inclucing the Dark Side of Moon tour twice, but never anything like this. The only negative I found was the CROWD. No one was standing. People just relaxing and listening to music I guess. Not me. I didn't care who was behind me. I thoroughly enjoyed the show, dancing and singing along with the greatest songs of all time. I certainly hope he comes back again to Toronto very soon. Loved the whole show. Two thumbs up!!!!!!

Amazing, mind blowing, memorable and incredible

by TMAK on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Words can not express the feeling one has after seeing this show. A good indicator of how good a concert is, is how much one thinks about it the next day. It is now the next day and I relive the images in my mind over and over. Truly the most impressive show ever created. For fans of 70's era stadium rock, this show is perhaps the swan song for that era, as I truly believe a production like this will never be repeated. This will NOT dissapoint.
