About

Roger Waters found international fame as a founding member of legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Selling over 250 million albums worldwide and being inducted into both the British and American Rock & Roll Halls Of Fame, Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Roger Walters has also had tremendous success as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums and touring extensively all across the globe.
Roger was the creative force behind the prime years of Pink Floyd's impressive run. From the classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1968 until Final Cut in 1983, Walters was responsible for the lyrics, arrangement and concept behind every album they released. By the time he left the band in 1985 they had been firmly established as one of the most critically acclaimed and best selling bands in popular music history. Albums such as The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall are some of the best selling albums of all time and still sell literally thousands of copies every year to this day.
After leaving Pink Floyd he moved into solo projects with albums such as Radio K.A.O.S and Amused To Death, once again concept albums in his unique style. In 1990 just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he staged his most elaborate concert ever with a giant outdoor performance in Berlin where the Wall once stood. Featuring guest performances from the likes of Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell and Cyndi Lauper, the concert registered an official attendance of over 200,000 people. The official live album, titled The Wall - Live, was released shortly afterwards and quickly went Platinum. This period of his career also saw Roger collaborate with artists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on various projects.
After taking a seven year break from both public eyes and the music industry, Roger returned with a bang in 1999 with a tour that started small and quickly grew. With more modest venues quickly selling out, more dates and larger venues were quickly added as the return tour expanded worldwide. For over three years Roger toured the world, culminating with a performance in front of over 70,000 at Glastonbury Festival in 2002. In 2005 Pink Floyd played together for one last time at charity event Live 8. Roger has continued his solo tours on and off since then, often performing special arrangements of Pink Floyd material mixed with his solo work.

Roger Waters: The Wall Live AMAZING!!!

by KyleC on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Having been a big Pink Floyd fan for many years, it was a dream come true to be able to see Roger Waters perform The Wall. It was without a doubt the best concert that I have ever seen. It was more than just a concert it was a complete theatrical performance. Everything that took place during this performance was incredible, more than I could ever have imagined.

    Roger Rocked!

by woodrow on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I was blown away by the spectacle! The band was very tight, played great and managed to keep the integrity of the album yet still making the songs their own. Even the few lyric & arrangement changes served to improve the songs and freshen them up. The sound quality in the ACC was fantastic, best I've heard yet! Hard to believe they can make a hockey arena sound so good. Then there is the stage (wall) and projections...that was truly remarkable! Hats off to the designers and animators. It was truly an unforgettable sound and vision event! Wish I could go again. Way to go Roger & the band, great job!

    A Great Concert Experience

by Spinner2 on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The musical performance was phenominal but the real aspect that set the Roger Waters Wall show apart from any other concert I have attended was the theatrical element that fully reflected each song they performed. The combination of the old and current references to war, conflict, greed and poverty reminded us how relevent the music still is today as the album when it was released in 1977. The interaction with the audience was very clear throughout the entire show.

Visually a masterpiece, musical performance ...

by TheCircle on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The show was updated with great stage work, animations were unreal, and the special effects very really cool. Roger on his own did a great performance, but the band was very flat and depthless. Not anything close to the performances David Gilmour puts on solo. And lack of Dave's presence is a complete loss for the show. The guy replacing David is a far match to him vocally. Overall an excellent experience. I would give it a 4 star.

    Simply Amazing

by Budoka on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The whole show was done with great detail, with only a few changes from the original. We all enjoyed the show, the guitar on "Run" will just blow you away, and Rogers singing is still fantastic.

    Where do we begin!!

by Anonymous on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

How could you not love Roger Waters. We were lucky to have great seats, in the 100's, in the middle, so the stage was right in front in all it's glory

    Unbelievable!

by ohjimmy on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This was what going to a show is all about. Hopefully there were teenagers there to learn what a real concert experience is all about.

    Subversive

by alphapix on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

more than 20 years after I first listen to the wall and i still discover new things every time. apart from a small sound problem during mother, which gave the audience the opportunity to sing and be heard, everything was amazing.

    In the flesh!

by Hayzeus on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

One of a kind experience Growing up Floyd was a staple in my auditory diet, I was to young to understand the imagery and the message but even then it was something unique and special. To get the opportunity to see the show live was an experience I will never forget. It is truly an artistic experience for the eyes and ears the moment you sit in your seat. As you are waiting for the show to begin there are latent messages riddled throughout the “arena”. Sound bites, a “homeless gentlemen” with a shopping cart being ushered around by security, and if you look carefully you can see what might be in store for you once the show commences. The show was amazing and the effort put into the presentation was phenomenal. It brought two Vinyl discs to life. The show was seamlessly awesome. My only critique is not of Waters but the audience, unfortunately it can be riddled with philistines…..talking throughout the entire show, yee hawing, standing up at climaxes of songs. There is a lot to see and hear if you’re not awestruck by the wonder of this once in a lifetime experience you are uncomfortably numb.

    Is there anybody OUT there?

by Koshman on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This was my third live concert of Pink Floyd / Roger Waters over a period of 35 years. I continue to marvel at the longevity associated with Pink Floyd's musical masterpiece - The Wall! This was obviously not as significant as the live 1990 open air concert in Berlin - but amazing nonethelessI Fans of all ages attended the opening night performance at the Toronto ACC and from the reactions observed, the show was quite a success. The music was performed flawlessly and Roger Waters did not miss a beat. The light show, video effects and props were outstanding - a necessity when the band is not visible for a significant portion of the event. Highly recommend this one.

Roger Waters opening night in TO

by PowrToch on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

As usual Roger Waters showed his brilliance. Right from "In The Flesh" to the end of the second set, the lights, and lasers were amazing and the 240 ft. wall.... incredible. The Gilmour stand in did an excellent job, and the guitar work was genius. The Highlights....... School kids singing for another brick in the wall pt.2, The Thin Ice, mother and of course Comfortably Numb. Another treat is the fact that he did Hey You and the extended What shall we do now. Be prepared to be mesmerized

    The Wall was incredible

by Uxscottie on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This is the 3rd time I have seen Pink Floyd in various lineups from 1974 to 2010. On Wednesday it was the 1st time to see Roger Waters do The Wall. It was incredible. I would recommend it to anyone. Awesome performance by the whole band and the special effects, wow. I like the theme, remember the fallen, we should never forget what they have done.

    Disappointed!!

by Lauderdale on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Sound was great.......visually....disappointing! Too much hype over the "theatrical" and "special effects" of the show.......there was none...it was pretty lame. I'm glad I paid "cost" for my tickets and went w/ the "limited view" seats which were only $70 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto........would have been pissed if I paid more. The show was just under 2 hrs...expected a longer show.....1st time in a very long time I got out of a concert before 11pm [it was 10:30]. The show would have been perfect if Toronto was one of the city;s David Gilmour showed up....now that would have made up for the visual. If u decide to go, don't spend too much money or if u cannot get tickets......just put onThe Wall at home, pour a drink, close ur eyes.....it's just as good!!

    The Wall Live was INCREDIBLE

by Scootz on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

It exceeded all expectations! Everyone I spoke to was blown away with it and would have jumped at a chance to see it the very next night. There was only one glitch on the Waters mic on a quiet solo, but it was opening night. Otherwise everything came off without a hitch. Read the review in the Toronto Star and can't understand where the guy is coming from. The backing band was very tigh and the vocals of Robbie Wyckoff were great. Hope he finishes the tour in Toronto so that I can see it again. I know my four friends will all want to be there for it. There was no encore but what would they have done, they performed The Wall, anything else would have been wrong.

Wow ... all I can say is, this was one of the best concerts I've been to in a while (and I go to many of them). The sound was amazing, the visual effects were incredible ... the overall performance was spectacular! The message is wonderful ... the music is awesome! I would recommend the show to anyone and everyone ... young or old(er).

Roger Waters didnt dissapoint his fans.

by Koshy30 on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The stage was quite big for 'The Wall' concert and the 3D effects with sound was awesome.I wished he played some numbers from 'The Dark Side of the Moon' or 'Momentary Lapse of Reason' album too at the end. I would have also liked if he would have taken time to introduce his band members as it was difficult to recognise who is who as everyone was wearing black outfits.

    even from the rafters...

by HDGF on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

eight rows from the roof and it was still fantastic. probably even better than up close; to be able to take in the visuals... sounded amazing. a better seat would have made it 5 star for me. thanks for asking

And the Wall came tumblin' down

by IwentIsaw on 2010-09-17Air Canada Centre - Toronto

An excellent rendition of "The Wall", but dissapointed that there was no encore. Some old Floyd would have been an appreciated bonus. The fans all around me agreed.
