    Whoop it up!

by Pianterly on 2022-07-22SHAW MILLENNIUM PARK - Calgary

I had an excellent experience at the festival! There was lots of room to roam the food vendors beer providers. The only oddity was not being able to keep your water lid. Of course I put mine down on the grass and it tipped over and spilt. Very expensive to waste it this way. Perhaps a waterbottle should be given at the entry if we can't keep our lids. The bands were very good and Offspring was amazing! They had some mic issues but Dexter was a trooper and you could tell he could actually sing and in key. I would do it again! unfortunately I ended up jumping and dancing so much I ended up in emergency the next morning with a fractured foot and boone chip. The 8 hours in the emerge was a bummer, but I would go through it again to see this one up. I'm a 59 year old closet punk rocker and being a teacher the kids may think I'm uncool if they were to know lol!

    Excellent Stampede Event!

    by L. M. on 2022-07-19SHAW MILLENNIUM PARK - Calgary

I have attended this event for many years. The venue change to Shaw Millennium park is a game changer! It's much nicer to be able to sit on the grass and listen to the music. The natural slope down to the stage makes visibility much better for those of us that are vertically challenged. The sound system is also great!. Bathrooms were well organized with separate men's and women's areas which kept them much cleaner and never lined up. The plus was the ticketmaster scannable tickets and ability to transfer easily. The quality of the line-up was great. Enjoyed the variety of beverages available, especially the non-alcoholic beer for those who can't drink. Would like to see more low sugar options for diabetics. There is room for improvement in the following areas: 1) Should still be able to scan printed tickets or PDF versions, especially given the Rogers interruption the week prior. This caused a lot of hassle at the gate as my guest hadn't downloaded the app and accepted the transfer. Wifi and cell were overloaded at the site. 2) More variety of low-sugar beverages (alcoholic and non) 3) The food quality and options were not good. The beef on a bun was truly disappointing in comparison to other years and the pizza was thin and bland. The only other options were all deep-fried. Something fresher would be nice. 4) Attendees should be allowed to bring something to sit on, even if it's just inflatable chairs or foam cushions. Many of us are getting older and can't sit or stand for long periods of time without a chair or cushion. Otherwise - great event! So glad to be back out and enjoying "life" again with others!

    Uhm oh yeah.

by Ray on 2022-07-19SHAW MILLENNIUM PARK - Calgary

The food was pretty bad. Drink variety was horrible. The bands were all kind of crap with a hit or two except the offspring they were amazing.

    Great outdoor festival!

by Mel on 2022-07-18SHAW MILLENNIUM PARK - Calgary

Great experience. General admission was less busy than VIP. No lines for food or drink and a gorgeous grassy area to sit and watch the artists.

Music was great, everything else was rough

by Marc on 2022-07-18SHAW MILLENNIUM PARK - Calgary

Bands were awesome, they all seemed to have a great show, I’m super grateful for that, and hold onto the happy memories. Everything else was rough. It was a super corporate event, I got the feeling that most people were there because their employer bought their tickets, which brings an air of entitlement. I’ve been on that side of it before, it’s a structural issue, not an individual issue. The food was gross. The beer was gross, and pretty warm near the end. The brewer was from Victoria instead of any of the myriad local brewers. Calgary Folk Music Festival is coming up this week, and is a far better run event.

Beverages could have been better! This year tall boys are a great addition to many venues except the RoundUp.

    Eclectic lineup.

by Penguin on 2022-07-16SHAW MILLENNIUM PARK - Calgary

First 2 bands sound was off center. After 2 songs from 3rd band sound tech appears to get it together Sound and energy of Offspring unbelievable good for their age lol
