We attended the Rodeo this past Sunday and it was fabulous. The performers were fantastic. The music was great. Nothing like rockin at a rodeo on a Sunday afternoon. The Royal always ensures we enjoy a great show.
Horse Show was interesting and varied. It lasted too late.
The horse show was absolutly amazing. We are already planning to go again next year. The horse hockey could have been shorter. The small ponies was one of my favourites. We are looking forward to next year.
was the most exciting evening experienced in my many, many years of attending the Royal Winter Fair Evening Performances. That said, I could have done without the screeching of the "All That Jazz" lady. The Dressage was ok, the singer was not. A diffrerent song where she didn't have "try" to reach the high notes would be much better. I attended with my son and granddaughter.
The show was SO much fun!!! I was disappointed originally with the schedule for the afternoon show as Ian Miller and the 'high name' jumpers weren't on the itinerary so it was a wonderful surprise to see them paired up with the ponies. That part of the show was SO entertaining. As well, we all loved the Horse Hockey!!! It was so funny to watch - again very entertaining, especially the hockey players that couldn't ride. The Stacy Westfall demonstration was also very enlightening. It would have been great, however, to see her ride for longer. All of my friends loved the show as well. It was great to see the variety and changes in the show this year! We missed the RCMP horses this year (they were one of our favourites from other years) but these 3 'new' events were exciting!
You don't need to know anything about horses to enjoy the Royal Winter fair shows. The talent of both the humans and the horses is great. Entertainment value for all ages
The jumps were great, all shows were entertaining and the horses were just great.
I love it! :) I adore animals and I totally enjoyed the Horse show and the farm! You pay at least $2 for a cup of animal pellets and you can choose what animals to feed. There were Llamas, Goats, Sheeps, etc. There were lots of families and food booths. The whole thing is truly an experience! :)
So glad it is Royal Winter Fair season again. The vendor booths are wonderful for shopping for everyone. So much variety. Food is ok, but more seating is needed in the Food Court. The Royal Horse Show was fabulous. Saw the Indoor Eventing for the first time and thought, wow, how can those people and horses do it. Lots of excitement and great riding. Gutsy riders and horses. The Show Jumping was exciting, as aiways, but was dampened by Nancy Wentworth's commentary. She was very negative about each rider, saying things like: "It was a disappointing ride..., he must be very disappointed because he took a bar,.................... etc." Commentary should be positive, not negative, especially when one is dealing with an audience from someone that knows nothing about horses to someone who is a professional rider and Olympic Champion. I will be going back again on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights, and hope to hear better commentary.
I was very disappointed that she was only on for about 10 minutes and she didn't even do her bareback reigning. Maybe I didn't research the schedule cause I didn't know the horse hockey was on too. Oh well live and learn. It was all good though.
The shopping was great, the horse show was spectacular, the super dogs were amazing and the displays we fantastic! Every year I look forward to going to the Royal, and I definitely wasn't disappointed!
As always: fun filled and unforgettable! Great moments I will treasure forever with family and friends! So many things to do and see! There's something for everyone!
For horse lovers only. No real savings to be found. Food is pretty bad. Little interactive besides shopping
what a great evening! from pony jumpers, to bridleless riding, to the greenhawk jumping finals....we had a wonderful and memorable evening at the royal. i would go to every show if i could.....not to be missed. we are so lucky in toronto to have the country some to us. thank you to all the animals, their owners, trainers and riders, and to sponsors of the royal!!!!!
Great show! Great seats, and well worth the money.
The event was awesome. Loved the indoor eventing. Loved Stacey (reining) Hunter was okay All that Jazz - the singer wasn't good. The costumes needs creativity. It was too long. The jumping - the woman commentator was terrible and I would have enjoyed the jumping better without her.
My daughter and I went for the first time last year and thought it was amazing. This year was just as great. The only thing better this time around were our seats! Definitly going for the same place next year. We loved the show jumping and my heart stopped at every jump! Stacey Westfall was wonderful and I really enjoyed how she spoke to the crowd about what she was doing in such a way that if felt like a one on one conversation. We need to get there even earlier in the day so we can actually visit every booth and see every performance in the hall. Can't wait to see what happens for next year.
Went to the Royal to see the Indoor Eventing Friday night. It was amazing! Lots of riders and the riders went all out. Only wish I could have gone to the second night as well. Next year, both nights for sure!
This event is not just for horse lovers but all animal lovers ! For those suburbanites and their families who just do not get a chance to pat cows, pigs, watch horses jump, get a wiff of the barn- I love the smell of a horse stable, the Royal offers great entertainment for the new to the ag scene and the diehards who return year after year.Great shows, yummy food whether it be fast or fine , oh and I cannot forget the shopping -the Royal truly has it al!!
