About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • Rush R40 was Epic!

by KineticDreamer on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing concert, funny videos, all 3 guys having a blast on their farwell tour. Thrilled to see them one last time, but sad the end is near. The song "Losing It" was a perfect song for the occasion. Wished they had done a final last song encore of Limelight. Vancouver gave them a tremendous send off, a full house on their feet all night. Thanks Geddy, Alex & Neil for a lifetime of music & memories!

  • Once Again....WOW

by Oldschoolmetal on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen RUSH every tour since 1990's Presto tour. Every time I see these guy's they're not great....not awesome....but always WOW! The set list & concept was fantastic (I won't spoil it for you). Make sure to go see this if you haven't already.....again....WOW!!! The only problem was the sound in Rogers center wasn't the greatest. Not horrible but not great.

  • Would be five stars if not for the terrible sound.

by jimmjam on 2015-07-20Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

I've seen Rush a half dozen times and am never disappointed with their performance. On July 15, 2015, Alex, Neil and Geddy performed perfectly, with passion and precision, covering their 40 years together with a great selection of their songs. With so many to choose from, you were bound to miss a few favourites. But it was great to hear some that hadn't been played live in a long time. The biggest drawback, and sole reason for the low rating, was that the quality of the sound was awful. Although everyone knows certain stadiums are notorious for poor sound, I have been to some really great sounding concerts in Calgary's Saddledome. Unfortunately this time, someone did not pay close attention to getting it right. Hard to believe with today's technology that it can't be better. A good start would be a few decibels less loud, and stop over-accentuating the deep, deep bass. Any sound engineer should know this drowns out the midrange. Please stop trying to cater to the dubb-step (and other new music) crowd. It doesn't suit RUSH and shouldn't be used.

  • Like a fine wine The Holy Triumvirate gets better

by irishmon on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The RUSH R40 tour rocks a LA Benjamin Buttons starting with songs from their most recent album, backwards, all the way to Working Man off their first album complete with Toronto high school gym back drop. RUSH proved beyond doubt they are the Alpha superior musicians and tightest band in rock.

  • My 8th Rush concert and it was the best.

by SKappleman on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Out of the 8 Rush concerts I've seen this was the best performance by Alex. He just ripped it up for the whole concert. These guys were as tight as they have ever been a testiment of their incredible musicianship. The highlights for me were the full length versions of 2112, Xanadu, Natural Science and Cygnus X-1. It was a real treat to hear them play Jacobs Ladder for the first time and special guest Ben Mink coming on and playing the violin for Losing It was amazing.

  • No Fly by Night group here...Rush still have it.

by stonecutter on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Rush did a retrospective that clearly demonstrated why they are still going strong after 40 years. Covering an incredible 15 albums (of 20 studio albums), the show was a seamless transportation back to the beginning. The Clockwork Angels album started us off with Anarchist and Headlong and the show ended with What are you Doing and Working Man from their Eponymous first album. A total of 27 songs from 15 albums, including some that only we diehards would immediately remember (Lakeside Park and an incredible Distant Early Warning). Ben Mink lent support on electric violin for Losing It which was just fantastic - tears to the eyes fantastic. The level of musicality shown through out the evening was precise and yet still had that flow and interaction that only seems to happen live. As usual, Neil Peart's Drum solo was mind blowing. The show was supported by videos (the comedic set break vignettes were hilarious as was the celebrity support for Roll the Bones - Paul Rudd and Jason Segel; Les Claypool, Tom Morello, the Trailer Park boys and Peter Dinklage). Lasers, explosions and flame bombs were the other obvious tools, but much more subtle was the ongoing set changes. As the set morphed through the evening to include items from Clockwork Angels, washing machines, a giant wall of Marshall amps and finally, a more striped down mid-70s club set.

  • Rush get better every tour

by markusoreallyus on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Rush four times now, beginning with the Signals tour in 1982 (or 83... I can't recall exactly, it was a long time ago). Every time I see them, they are even more impressive than the time before. The R40 show in Vancouver was incredible. Especially when Ben Mink joined them to perform 'Losing It'. It would have been an impressive show if it were five guys in their 20s, but three guys pushing 60, playing some of the most intricate music in rock history for nearly three hours? There are no words. I hope, in spite of all the warnings that this is likely their last major tour, that I will get to see them again. And again. But if not, I'd like to thank them for four decades of brilliant musicianship, thoughtful lyrics and incredible performances.

  • RUSH as great as ever

by AELB on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Another excellent RUSH performance. Wishing them all the best in their futures. Sounds like this is probably the last tour for RUSH. It was so nice to enjoy all of the different eras of t-shirts amongst the fans!

  • Rush 40 - amazing

by Anonymous on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I have been going to Rush concerts for Over 20 years. This was in the top two. They just get better. Hope it wasn't the reitement show.

  • Best Rush show I have ever seen

by Upcountry on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

If this is Rush's last major tour, they went out with a bang! 3 hours of fantastic playing, an amazing light show, some humour and 20 some songs stretching from Clockwork Angels to the debut album

  • Good Canadian Kids

by chuckpuck on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing journey through time. So full of great old memories for me and new ones for my daughter. I have been to well over 100 concerts and these guys, after 40 years, are the consummate showmen.

  • by Mulvy on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

A great show, particularly the second half for those who like the vintage, full side album tunes of the Rush of old! Cygnus X1 was a treat with a Peart drum solo in the middle of it! Peart has not lost a second of his speed on the drum kit. He remains one of the best in the world!

  • Rush 3 Majic

    by bzp1 on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

What can you say except for perfect, their perfect still after 40 plus years. An absolute amazing show. They played some of their timeless songs like Xanadu and Anthem great sound. The fans are so loyal you could see it, hear it and feel it. I hope theirs an R45 or R50 as they'll be a packed house where ever they go. Proud to be a Canadian as they are hosiers through and through. Great show guys and as Geddy Lee says "we hope to see you down the road real soon" hope so..

  • Rush not as enjoyable as last year

by Roxis on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I was anticipating the same great, enjoyable concert as last year and was disappointed. The light show was good, the drummer did his great solo performance, the sound was good, they played for three hours so you definitely got your money's worth, but their opening song was not one of their powerful ones and their lineup of music was not that great. But there were people around me who really enjoyed it. However, based on that I will not return for another rush concert.

  • Rush: R40 Live Tour 2015 Major dissapointment

    by impressed2011 on 2015-07-20Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

The stage settings out performed the band. The laser light show was one of the best I've ever seen. The sound was awful, especially Geddy's microphone, most of the time I couldn't hear was he was singing. Neil Peart was fantastic as usual, but the long guitar/bass solos that blended songs together made it hard to keep track of what they were playing. I was hoping to get more of the old songs, dont care too much for the new stuff I guess.

  • Rush looked like they played well

by powerbench on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

The band looked like they were having fun...lots of energy on stage, but the sound was terrible....It sounded like they had no mid levels at all. I've seen these guys probably 10 times , and this was the worst sound. I sure hope this isn't the final tour

  • RUSH R40 was amazing

    by Cid1 on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I was amazed at how incredible they all sounded, but a special acknowledgement has to go to Geddy Lee. His voice was out of this world! We saw them 2 years ago and he was good then but did struggle with some of the notes. This time I think I heard one that he missed a bit. Absolutely phenomenal! Alex and Neil, well what more needs to be said. It is truly a shame that age catches up with all of us, as if this is the last big concert I will see them do, then that was quite the way to go out!

  • Rush rocks!

    by motd1964 on 2015-07-20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best Rush concerts have gone to. Played a lot of the old songs. Rush rock!

  • Really, this probably IS the last time...

by Totofan on 2015-07-19Rogers Arena - Vancouver, BCRating: 5 out of 5

I just love this band, especially in concert, but I truly believe this may be THE last tour. It's hard to comprehend just how much they give each night on tour, really like running a marathon AND doing math at the same time...And of course the health issues (though not at all evident in their performance). Fantastic and entertaining show, a great crowd, probably more fans wearing band t-shirts than any other concert - of any band - that I've been to. Loved the setlist, Alex's sense of humor, Geddy's bouncy performance and I believe I even saw Neil crack a smile! Ticket prices are a steal when you factor in how much you get...

  • Worst Sound at a concert in years.

by JEEE on 2015-07-16Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

I've seen Rush 6 times over the last 20 years and this was by far the worst. Sound was terrible, lighting cues were off...best things about the show: video aspects and the concept of going back in time through their career was cool especially the set changes.
