About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

This is the best rush concert I have ever attended. It was truly a tour through time, with something from all eras. My wife who has never seen Rush live said she couldn't believe how much sound just three guys could generate. And she thought it was louder and clearer than even AC/DC who she's seen twice, so that's saying something. On the clarity side I fully agree. I'm in my 60s and wear hearing aids due to niose damage working in a steel plant and there was not one bit of mud or distortion. I'm hoping that when they come back to north america after the european section of the tour that they hit Cops again.

  • Geddy Lee can still hit some notes!

by cinnamongrl on 2011-04-23Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Haven't seen Rush since 1981! The boys are in fine form, all 3 wailed on their respective instruments. Wasn't sure Geddy could still sing, but he hit some pretty good notes (missed on some others, but hey, most people couldn't sing like him ever). Great song selection, a few pretty good new tunes. Great stage set up and funny intro movie.

  • Rush - Time Machine Tour

FANTASTIC!!! Those 3 "old guys" are unbelieveable!!

  • Still a "Rush" after 37 years

by SwishJay on 2011-04-23Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

as the concert t-shirts shower, Rush 1974-2011, was good (and maybe better) tonight as they were in the 70's (and YES - I saw many of their shows then including MLG and local southern ontario venues) - drum solos by Neil Peart were "awesome" - all songs and videos were excellent - the "theme" of Rash becoming Rush was fun and led to some funny videos

  • Rush on Fire !!!

    by 5starsRushShow on 2011-04-23Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Rush performed an extended set at their finest. I can honestly say I have seen Rush several times and this was by far their best performance. Alex, Geddy and Neil were on fire, playing hugely difficult songs with ease. As most classic bands begin to show their wears after this many years, Rush maintains and improves their level of musicianship and entertainment. The stage, lighting and sound were spectacular to say the least. I paid a good penny for floors and was more than worth it. For any Rush fan in attendance this was a show to be remembered. Very looking forward to the DVD of this Time Machine Tour !

    by BB55BB on 2011-04-22Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

took me back in Time for sure! What an amazing performance! The audience was deafening with their appreciation! The drum solo by Neil Peart was a concert unto its own!! I would highly recommend anyone, any age puts a Rush concert on their bucket list!!

  • by rockon05 on 2011-04-22Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Rush was amazing. These guys can rock even though they are getting old. It was definitely worth the money. They were well rehearsed. The lighting and pyrotechnics were awesome. They played a wide range of songs; old and new. They played for 3 hours. If you like Rush at all you should see them for sure.

  • Rush...Need I Say More!!!

    by colts2112 on 2011-04-22Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

This is my 2nd time seeing the time machine tour and it only gets better. I was in the 10th row and was an unforgettable concert. Hopefully at their age i'll still be rockin as hard as they do...RUSH FOR LIFE!!!!!

  • what a Rush!

by Icons on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to a lot of Rush concerts and those boys never disappoint. The amount of talent in those three fine Canadian lads is unbelievable. Song selection was great, can't complain with Moving Pictures but other selected songs were fantastic. Hearing two new songs live was good too. Extremely enjoyable show...lights, video, pyro, solos, music...it's all good!

  • Best Canada has to offer!

by Eulogy on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

You wont ever experience a better show. Rush knows their crowd and seemed genuinely happy to be performing. The show was a masterpiece for the senses - some amazing visual components, a rotating drum kit & a huge screen displaying videos. It was a true pleasure being able to see Canada's most talented band.

  • Killer Show

by Andhey on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Rush can be considered a legendary band and never disappoint, I haven't seen them live since 89, but time machine was awesome and took me back there and back to present day in one evening!! Excellent set and a great light show to match the music, thouroughly enjoyed the gig and everyone should experience a rush show at least once in a lifetime......killer

  • RUSH time machine TOUR

    by ginger10 on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 2 out of 5

Well we have seen Rush 5 times.. we were so excited to see them again at Copps as we figured really not a bad seat in the house. WELL we were very wrong.Tthe set list was awesome, the band was awesome but the sound up in section 200 near the top was HORRIBLE. All we could hear was base feedback and really could not even hear lyrics at points of the show. OVERALL WE FEEL WE WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. If you can't hear the sound we might as well not have been there. Not sure who was responsible for making sure sound check was good BUT they should be fired. Also the positioning of the speaker totally blocked the view of Neil Pert the drummer, horrible.

  • Rush in Copps Coliseum

by BiggerGuy on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Rush play at Ampitheatre in August and couldn't wait to see them again. Can;t say they were as tight this time as last but it was still an awesome show. Pretty amazing to do a 2 1/2hr show to the level they do. Copps is a great venue, and they're coming out with another new album.

  • Rush was unforgettable

    by ste1959 on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

the concert was awesome and for 60 year old guys they can still rock and roll

  • Time Machine doesn't grow old

    by Otter1961 on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

July 2010 at the Amphitheatre or spring at Copp's Colosseum 2011, this show is 10.5 out of 10. The talent of this band and it's ability to impress with solid measures of old and new material. Neil is by far the greatest drummer ever. Looking forward to the release of their new album and anticipated tour.

The last time I saw Rush it was 30 years ago!!They sounded as amazing now as they did then!Fantastic show from the greatest band to come out of Canada!!!!

  • Too bad you cannot hear the words.

by Harcor on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

It was intersting to see how 3 men can make so much music ( noise ). These guys definitely have the equipment to sound much bigger than they are. The light show was O.K. but the video screen behind the band was very well done and well worth watching. The sound was so loud that you could not understand what the singer was saying. I have seen other shows at Copps where you could hear every word that the singer was saying. That was a disappointment. Overall, the band played with intensity that belies their age. I am amazed by the drummer who never seemed to break a sweat but was very adept at playing the drums at a high level during the entire show. Alex, the lead guitaist can certainly play with the best of them.

  • Rush was amazing !!!

    by 2RELAX on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible performance by an incredible band . Enjoyed concert from start to finish and everything in between. Looking forward to their new album. Will definitely see them again when they come back my way. Favourite band of all time . Canadians Rock !!

  • par excellence

by softmelon on 2011-04-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

You will hear many people say that Neil Peart is arguably the best drummer in the world. I say they are wrong--because there is no argument. He is the best period. Bar none. I have seen countless concerts in my time, but since my tastes have always leaned towards the Stones and AC/DC, I always placed Rush on the fringes of my consciousness. However, six months ago I watched the documentary BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE, and what I saw intrigued me. Now, after seeing what can only be described as musically the most precise rock performance I have ever witnessed, I am blown away. How three guys can fill an arena full of such power and grace is almost beyond words. Amazing.
