Sam Smith has been captivating audiences with their unique high tenor since first appearing as the ebullient vocalist on Disclosure’s 2012 breakout single “Latch.” At only 22, the London-born singer instantly became one of the UK’s greatest pop exports after releasing their first album, In the Lonely Hour (2014), which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and went on to achieve platinum certification five times over in the U.S. The album also earned Smith four Grammys, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year (for the Darkchild remix of “Stay with Me”), as well as Best New Artist. Smith then co-wrote and performed the opening theme “Writing’s on the Wall” for the 2015 James Bond film Spectre, which earned them an Academy Award. Smith’s 2017 sophomore album The Thrill of It All cemented their place at pop music’s forefront, opening atop the Billboard 200, while 2020’s Love Goes boasted collaborations with genre-leading contemporaries like Calvin Harris, Normani, Burna Boy and Demi Lovato. In 2023, Smith released their fourth full-length, Gloria, featuring the Grammy-winning Kim Petras duet, “Unholy,” which became the singer’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 — and the first song by an openly non-binary artist and transgender artist, respectively, to reach the chart’s top spot.

    First time seeing Sam Smith and he did not disappoint! He sounds even better live and the passion and energy he brought to the show was touching. Even though his music is rather “depressing” at times, he still made us all have a fun time with it.

    Its no surprise that Sm Smith would be an incredible performer. The set-list just flowed together so nicely. There was never a boring moment. I may also be bias because his songs mean so much to me and my queerness, but he genuinely brought me to tears when he sang Pray and Him. The performance was simple, the lights were beautiful, the choir sounded amazing, there wasn't any back up dancers (but he rocked those moves all by him self.) Over all, an Unforgettable night.

    This was such an amazing concert! The set, the sound, the lights...all of it was brilliant! Sam Smith made it feel like an intimate concert, even though it was such a big venue! I loved every single minute of it!!

    I have seen Sam at each of his two shows (In The Lonely Hour & The Thrill Of It All) here in Toronto. They were both incredible! But this time around you could certainly see how his ease and confidence on stage had grown these last few years. He makes his powerhouse songs look effortless. Some artists rely heavily on studio production, but not Sam! He may be even better live than recorded! LOVE LOVE LOVE

    Crowd nearly blew the roof off the venue. Wasn’t expecting that as his music has so much heartache. But it was so uplifting and a big sing-along. Loved it.

    SAM SMITH. wow just wow, let me just start at the beginning. The opening act, CAM was amazing. She sang beautifully & was amazing enough that I went home and bought her album. Now to the man of the hour, Sam Smith <3 the man completely took my breath away, he literally has the voice of an angel & for someone who is a singer not a performer..he did an amazing job working the entire stage. I love how he would focus on all angles of the stage instead of just standing in the middle and singing. It was probably one of my favorite concerts EVER and I've been to a lot. He rocked the stage, sang with such grace and elegance, interacted with the crowd & overall opened his North American tour with a phenomenal performance. When he comes back (because I'm sure he will) you best believe that I will be attending that show as well.
