Great great great show! Great way to spend a Saturday night!
10 out of 10....the venue was perfect (could move around and do whatever dance you want)...:)...sound was great, and the weather perfect....nice and cool and NO BUGS!!!
Santana is still as good as he's ever been! A beautiful, mystical night in Minnesota. He starts on time, has great musicians and singers, does all the favorites, newer stuff, jams, etc. The show is the perfect length and he is a class act that reaches a wide diversity of fans. It was worth every penny.
Saw Santana at Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater !!!! AMAZING concert and AWESOME venue.
Santana is a charismatic man, it was refreshing to see that. His presence and when he played his instrument was definitely delivering a message of a spiritual upliftment. He is certainly doing a great service to our planet through his words and music. I am so lucky to have finally seen him in a concert.
Opening act Michael Franti and Spearhead were very good. I had seen them at a folk festival several years ago, and his presence with the audience has grown even better. Carlos Santana had an excellent rapport with the audience and the entire band was tight and ferocious ! Initially the rhythm section, and drums in particular, seemed to be out of balance with Santana's guitar, making Carlos hard to hear, however the sound balance seemed to improve over the initial part of the set. Only thing I would have liked to have seen different would have been for the set to be longer.
Giant beach balls , and audiance members on stage in the opening act. Followed by a classic artist everyone should see at least once. This is one show i did not want to miss. Never a disapointing moment. Short stories between tunes, painting the picture for the next song, and still playing guitar with an amasing stile. Classic Party, You Rock Carlos.
To start - the venue is breathtaking, what a view. Everyone should experience Red Rocks Amphitheatre at least once in their lifetime. Second - George Lopez - what a howl. I laughed so much. Finally - Carlos Santana - Outstanding! He opened with a bang, and never slowed down. The whole experience was beyond anything I had expected. Surrounded by the spectacular view from the amphitheatre, accented by thye fabulous music, it was a truly spiritual experience. The only warning about Red Rocks - wear comfortable shoes!!!
Loooove Michael Franti and Spearhead, bought the tickets to see him first :) Santana was wonderful, saw him years and years ago and this concert was great!!!
Excellent. Best show of the summer. How he weaves his guitar sound into the music is sweet. The band never missed a beat, and effortlessly put on a great show. The venue was amazing
The concert was well polished and executed, however, it was not exciting. The band went through the well rehearsed motions. The vocals were drowned out by the band (and we were in the second row!). Overall an OK concert, but nothing to write home about. Bucket list checked.
With the millions of dollars of equipment you would think that they would be able to bring up the sound of the feature artists by reducing the sound of the band. I hate it when the band overpowers the performers.
This was one of the best concerts I have ever attended!! I can see why Carlos Santana is a legend and he can still play like a master. There wasn't a bad note in the whole concert!! I'm so glad we went & had tickets in the 5th row. He has such a positive, inspiring message.
Carlos is fantastic, one of my favorite guitarist, speaking as a guitar player myself. I can't praise him enough but would like to convey my disappointment and embarrassment at the Saskatchewan fans. People where leaving before the concert was over and I was shocked at, once the last song was finished, the lights came on and everybody filed out, like they where leaving a Union meeting or something. It is unheard of and a huge insult to the band, not to rises and demand an encore. As a musician and a 40 year veteran of concerts, I have never seen a band not return for at least one encore. I was very POed with the fans there.
I really liked the visual effects to go along with the music, like showing the band mates play on the big screen so those of us up in the high seats could see what was going on. It was really nice to hear some of the more popular songs done live and just the amount of work that goes into one instrument to make it make the music he makes is phenomenal. Also phenomenal was one of the other guys, I don't remember his name, he plays the bass guitar when he did his solo, I can't believe how fast that guy could move both his hands without dropping the guitar...haha If you are going to this concert, I hope you enjoy it, I did.
Right from the opening act to the end music was rythmic you were under santana"s spell.also openening act very entertaining love the up beat then soulfull rejoicing
Santana was amazing to watch live!! With the rest of his band it was some of the best music I"ve heard in a long time. Awesome covers of other bands like AC/DC!!! The drum solo was also really cool! I'd see him again in a heart beat!!
Very Good! Excellent!! Anybody who appreciates a good guitarist would understand! Really, it was studio perfection! REAL Entertainment!!
I wwould go to the concert again if i could !!!!!!
Santana's pure love of music is unmistakably evident though out all of his music. He loves pleasing his fans as well. What an unforgettable show!
