    Twelfth Night

by NightWalker80 on 2017-07-26Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

This play was hilarious, never laughed so much. Excellent casting, everyone very suited for their roll. The only complaint I would have is that it was a little too long. The Afternoon Tea was very good, enjoyed it very much. The sandwiches were delicious, but the dessert was disappointing!

    Excellent Performance!

by Nagary on 2017-07-19Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

The play was hilarious. Well casted. The actors held up really well in the heat. Love the interaction with the audience. Preferred the tent in previous years' location. We usually got a nice breeze coming in from the entrance in past years. This time it wasn't reaching the audience coming in from the back of the tent.

    A Multi-Talented Bunch

by spiritednortherngirl on 2017-07-12Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

We were treated to an evening of music and hilarity combined with "Twelfth Night". The performers sang and played their way through every act thoroughly charming us. It was an enjoyable evening. I will not miss the other offering, Richard III.

    Rollicking Comedy

by SaskatoonJay on 2016-08-24Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

We saw A Midsummer Night's Dream on the last night of the festival and spent the whole show laughing. As in other years, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan gave a master class in how to present a Shakespeare comedy. Stellar cast, great translation of the text into hilarious action.

by HMPZ on 2016-08-24Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

Whimsical, brilliant and unforgettable. I remember taking this play in grade 9 many many moons ago. I knew it wasn't a delightful comedy. The actors were absolutely brilliant, professional wonderful characters, all of them were top notch. Enjoyed every single one of them. A must see.I go back again in a heartbeat.

    Amazing atmosphere

by JJets on 2016-08-23Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

Loved the show. We especially liked the intimate atmosphere, close to the actors. For sure I would go earlier next time, and have the dinner, or at least a drink before the show.

    Not my Farorite

by AlsoPyramus on 2016-08-18Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

Julius Caesar is by virtue of its contend a violent play. I've seen it many times and have enjoyed each performance - except this one. In the case of Julia Caesar, the violence turned to screaming, and one giant shouting match. Given the pitch of the female voice, a lot of this over the top screaming resulted in inaudible dialogue, and a lost performance. I don't fault the actors. Toning down the screaming was the job of the director, who definitely dropped the ball on this one. Of all the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan productions we've seen, this is by far our least favorite.

    J. Caesar excellent production

by Marlaweb on 2016-08-15Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

The all-female cast was a welcomed twist to this story. Only weak points were that one actress appeared to be a bit under the weather, but she didn't miss a beat. Just a little trouble with voice projection. Concise, well-acted. Great costuming. Would recommend.

Our family loves plays. The Roving Show was a new experience for us. We loved the scene changes as the play progressed through the park. The actors were outstanding and did a great job covering multiple characters. We had no trouble hearing them even though the play was outdoors with no audio equipment. Our three children really enjoyed the experience as did we. I think it may become and annual tradition.

    Hail Ceasar !

by Anonymous on 2016-08-08Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

I went with my older sister and a young niece. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The acting was absolutely professional. Unreal, the powerful voices coming from those petite ladies.

    Another success

by AlsoPyramus on 2016-07-31Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

A bit concerned at first about the costuming, but the acting over rode any costume concerns. Still didn't get the connection between steam punk and anything that happened on stage. There is usually an obvious connection, but this time it escaped me. As for the production - I would definitely recommend it. Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan is always an adventure and this years A Midsummer Night's Dream was no exception. Looking forward to Julia?

    J Caesar

by cappy on 2016-07-25Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan - Saskatoon

all-female cast did a disservice to the play .. My suggestion is not to try and improve on the bard.. but to try and send the play's message as Shakespeare sent it ...and keep the stage
