Very fun show! Nice to share a night of laughter and get our minds completely off Covid life. Had happy tears rolling more than once. Very relateable.
Show had too much repetition. The movies at the end were not value added.
First off, the venue was great. We were able to see Shaun from out seats near the back without having to use binoculars. The smaller venues are nicer than the big arena settings. Shaun's spiel was right on track with current events happening. You definitely got a different take of "the news". Always watched him on "This Hour has 22 minutes" and miss his appearance on it which is why when we heard he was coming to town we bought tickets to his "Hate" tour.
Awesome show, Shaun had us laughing from start to finish
Had a great evening at the Hard Rock in Coquitlam. Shaun Majumder didn't disappoint. He is hilarious and kept the crowd engaged throughout the evening. Would definitely love to see him again.
Great to see more comedy shows at the Coquitlam Hard Rock. Bought tickets to Shaun's show early on, looking forward to seeing him. Overall a good comedian, but he seemed to inject a little too much of the ethnic discussion. I expected some material to be as such, but it was laid on a little thick.. We get it, we're all ethnic. Considering all. It was a great evening.
Shaun was full of energy and endless subjects to riff on - he interacted with the audience and improvised masterfully - very enjoyable!
Best stand-up comedy show I've seen in a long time. I'm already a fan with his work on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, but this was that much better because he could shred topics that he can't touch on that show. He was up there by himself with no warm up act for almost two hours. I think he would have gone longer if he were allowed to. I would definitely go see him again anytime.
Shaun put on a solid two hours of entertainment and was very funny.
Really enjoyed the show. He is correct though - not "CBC appropriate". I would definitely go and see him again. LOVE the fact that he is Canadian! Great talent in our country!
The four of us loved Shaun Majumder! Very funny man!
Just a lot of swearing and very little humour. I guess because he can't swear on CBC he makes up for it at his show. His potty mouth was not the problem though. He just wasn't funny. He started off talking about Canada's 150th birthday then talked about Trump. The final portion was about Newfoundland. I had a minor chuckle about 3 times. I was glad when the show ended as it was painful to sit through. Opening act was way funnier than Majumder.
I saw Shaun years ago and he was so funny. I guess now that he is on "This hour has 22 Minutes" His life & material is more politically based. Way too much time was wasted on Donald Trump, I think we can all agree were as Canadians are sick of it. It's done, get over it. Same with all the immigrant, racial stuff. As Canadians we aren't racist, the more this keeps getting brought up the more people will become racist. Shaun, is a fabulous comedian, & needs to go back to his better material.
I expected more. He asked how many people had seen him before, and there is a reason why so few people had seen him before (why would you go see him again when he does not change his material). The show started off well, but there was a lot of redundancy. Frankly, although I was bothered by the number of times he checked his phone (probably to see how much longer he needed to be on the stage), I understood why he wanted to be done (I felt the same by about half way through the show). If I were ranking him compared to other comedians I have seen, the only way he would make it to my top 10 list is because I only had seen 10 comedians...
It was awesome, he talks about real things that he knows and can make anything funny. Very natural delivery, pokes fun at himself as well as others.
Shaun grabbed your attention from the first minute he walked on stage. His humor is current and savvy and if you are from Newfoundland like me you busted a gut on some of the Newfy mannerisms. So funny and so needed right about now.; And so not CBC! Thanks Shaun for a wonderful evening of laughs.
I don't remember one joke or memorable line from the show. His sketch comedy prowess doesn't translate to his stand up. Was really hoping for more. Definitely a talented guy, but I wouldn't recommend his stand up outside of a comedy club setting. Frankly, I laughed a lot harder at the opening act.
Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry funny - awesome would see him again & again -Just for Laughs is awesome
I can't say enough to express how hilarious SM was at Winter Garden Theatre on May 7. Mr. Majumder has been my favourite stand-up comedian since the mid 90's and he didn't disappoint in his live performance on his first-ever comedy tour. I have been waiting for many years to see him and my expectations were very high. I think he was funnier that evening than in any other special I have seen him appear on on television. His delivery was great, he was enthusiastic, engaging, charming and most of all, freaking funny as hell! I don't recall the name of the opening act/host, but he was quite funny as well, although he didn't hold a candle to the main act. :) I would definitely see Shaun perform again and would recommend you go too!
Very good intro to aquaint us with his origins. Stories of personal experiences always win over the audience. Then he got Canadian crazy, piss in your pants funny, and showed us once again why Canadian comics are sooo much better than American, ........ because they know CANADA !
