About

For 20 years, multi-platinum rock band Shinedown have dominated the charts with their melodic hard rock sound. Shinedown have the most No. 1 hits (18) in the more than 40-year history of Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart, including the singles “Daylight,” “Planet Zero” and “Atlas Falls.” Their third album, 2008’s The Sound of Madness, spawned four No. 1 singles on the Mainstream Rock chart and spent 120 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with the crossover hit “Second Chance” landing in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Shinedown has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and is a high-octane touring juggernaut, playing countless sold-out arena tours — including 2023’s The Revolutions Live Tour, which began in April with a 21-date U.S. run. They will hit the road in 2025 on the upcoming Dance, Kid, Dance tour.

  • Shinedown: A Rock Gig not to be missed

by Darryl on 2009-07-15Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Shinedown played at the Comodore Ballroom in Vancouver. A Great venue for any band to play at, not only because of the fact that it's in the heart of Vancouver. but also for the fact that the place is a club, which means great acoustics, drinks, great atmosphere and small, therefore intimate. Tupelo Honey opened for the band, and they were great, really getting the crowd revved up for the headliners, Shinedown. Shinedown made their presence known as they entered the room and started off with a bang. Next door to the Comodore was another gig, which held the legendary Tragically Hip, but you would have never known it when Shinedown took the stage to blow their fans away. They played almost all their singles, a bunch of stuff of their new cd and made everything sound a hell of a lot louder, heavier and really got the crowd into it, whether it was getting us all to sing along, jump up and down, or scream to make sure we were still alive, they played a brilliant gig, one not soon to be forgotten.

  • The opening bands were good.

by mkinakin on 2009-07-15Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

I found that shinedown was really, really, loud and they should have toned it down a lot. The other bands volume was just fine, and then shinedown came on and it was incredibly loud.

  • Shinedown was beauty incarnate

by ElPez on 2009-07-15MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Shinedown was one of the best concerts i've ever seen. His voice was even better live and the sound was perfect. The biggest problem was that most of the fans did not realize that this was a heavy concert

Best rock concert I've ever been to. Shinedown really knows how to put on a show. The opening bands were very good as well.

  • I <3 Shinedown!

by Alyssa on 2009-07-15MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was absolutely amazing. Shinedown is one of my favourite bands, and the experience seeing them was incredible, and will stay with me for a lifetime!

  • Shinedown was disappointing

by countryrock on 2009-07-15MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

I have been a fan of Shinedown for 5 + years now, so I was extremely excited to learn that they were finally coming to Canada. Maybe my hopes were a little high, but I was extremely disappointed. Brent Smith couldn't hit half the notes he used to, causing him to change the tune of most of his older songs which required his usually amazing vocals. They played MAYBE 8 older songs, and the rest were from their new album. Tip: When you become an underground hit with your old stuff, stick to it. Don't try to feed us the pop rock crap that's on the radio now. And finally, he seems to have developed an "I am your God" complex. Not cool, guys. You lost a lot of loyal fans at that concert.

  • Shinedown was freakin amazing

by Saskatchewan on 2009-07-14The Forum - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

We travelled 3 days to get to this concert. And it was well worth the trip. The venue was amazing and Shinedown blew me out of the water. Best Concert I have ever been too and probably will ever be at.

  • Shinedown Omaha AMAZING

by Wrecky on 2009-07-13Sokol Auditorium - OmahaRating: 5 out of 5

I was SO happy that we took the time to drive down from Winnipeg, Canada to catch Shinedown in Omaha NE. I have seen Shinedown several times but in larger venues with them opening with shorter sets for bigger bands. This was the ultimate awesomeness as it was a smaller venue and they headlined this show! Rev Theory opened up and it was the first time I had heard them. Got their CD on the way out and it made for great roadtunes on the way to see Shinedown in Kansas the next night! We got treated to 17 songs which was over the top in my opinion. The energy this band has is amazing. They allowed us to escape "real life" for two hours and just rock out. They're on tour with the "Stimulate This" package this month and I would highly recommend you get out and see them live AND pick up their CD's!
