  • Leave the animals alone, do the tricks yourself.

I'm glad that there was no wild animals (tigers bears lions) used in the production. Maybe people are finally starting to understand that using wild animals is animal abuse. Proud of Canada for banning that, those clowns should know better.

I have noticed many poor reviews based on the fact that there were not enough animal acts. Animals are not ours for the purpose of entertainment, no matter how much money is being made. These animals endure long hours on the road, standing around in hot parking lots and chained or caged so that we can be entertained. Whether or not you believe these animals are abused in training them to perform unnatural acts, the fact remains, they should be in the wild, or at the very least in a sanctuary, where they can live a natural existence. If you want your child to witness an elephant or a lion or a panther, put on the Discover or National Geographic channel, so they can see the animal in their natural habitat. I strongly encourage you to donate money directly to the Shriners hospitals and stop going to their circus until all animal acts are removed. It's time the Shriners did a complete overhaul of the circus and start an all humans circus with more professional acts. Cirque Du Soleil is a fantastic example of just how good a circus can be without animal acts.

  • Disappointing Performance!

by LocalReviewer on 2014-06-13Woodbine Centre parking Lot- Toronto - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

There were no animals, except horses....they've a pre-done board at the front saying they couldn't bring tiger and elephants to Canada!!!Then why did you even come to perform in Canada ??? no other bird performances...A Cannon performance at the start had some thrill and few other performances....apart from that it was just killing time by lame duck jokes....they should advertise that there are no animals in the circus except horses!!!! If I had known, i'ld not have wasted mine and my kid's time....Secondly, they rip off by selling merchandise which can be found in dollar store for $25..This US company comes into Canada without major animal performances and rips the public with merchandise and costly snacks at $ 25...Plus, the ring master publicly announces and asks people to buy those $25 merchandise so they can exploit the public without providing any thrill....complete waste of time and rip off. I'ld recommend going to Zoo with kids as a much better entertainment!!!!

Overall I thought this event was disappointing. For example, one expects clowns to come out with a little enthusiasm, eg running, honking horns, juggling, doing backflips or cartwheels. These guys really did nothing. They even walked out slowly. The tug of war and the telescope skits were not that entertaining or funny. The kids watched for a bit then got bored and did other things. The fact there was a black panther was exciting, but with the dim blue lights, we could see nothing more than a shadow. The domestic cat was the best animal at the show. And NO elephants?! The kids liked the lady with the 'magic dresses', the one whose outfit changed every time her partner covered her with the silk or the tunnel thing. Dora's act on the rope and hoops was rather good as well.

  • waste of money. would give it no stars if I could.

Poor quality acts. Acts were obviously not practiced enough. Ring leader didn't know the program, had to look at his notes. Animal's are animals but poorly executed acts on the trainers part. heard many other parents talking and were disappointed after. Save ur money for a bigger circus.

  • Not what I remembered!

Was ok for my 3 year old daughter. Was dissapointed that there were no tigers, elephants, guys getting shot out of cannons, and no circle of death motorcycles acts. The food was expensive, the animal rides too short ($10 for 2 laps around circle) and the clown acts were lame. Not the same circus as when I was a kid. At the end of the day, my 3 year old didn't know the difference and had a good time so it was worth going.

The acoustics were terrible, so loud our 3 year old wanted to go home after 15 minutes. We found the animals very 'unhappy' looking and although some of the acts deserved huge recognition the others were nothing exciting. I'd say 3/5 for an overall score.

It wasn't like the Shriner circus when I was little where there were tigers and elephants etc. It was boring and a waste of money.
