Great Concert!
by CDubya on 2010-07-04Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5It was a great show with very high energy! Other than a few moments of bad sound quality due to the keyboards being turned up WAY too loud for a venue as small as The Sound Academy, the band put on a great performance. The guitar and bass playing was very tight but the drums were being played like it was the band's last performance! Chris was an absolute madman on the skins during the show...
When the band first appeared on stage and sang "Growing Old is Getting Old," the lighting effects were fantastic. Having different colors of wash across Brian and Nikki's faces quickly was very trippy and memorable.
Despite being over an hour late, the featured opening act Against Me! was very good. The songs off their new album White Crosses weren't as good or well performed as songs off the album New Wave, but there was a good mix of old and new songs. However, The Henry Clay People were terrible and I would recommend avoiding this band in the future.
