  • Great Show

by Toe Knee on 2024-03-08History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a fan for many years and waited a long time to see them. They played a great mix of their classics and a good mix of some other material. Sound was good and stage show was perfect for this venue, nothing beats seeing a band at History. Hope they return soon!

  • Best show I have seen in a long time

Excellent stage presence. Exceptionally talented musicians. Enjoyed every minute of their performance. Had a really good time.

Amazing! Although I was late and missed 4 songs and was way at the back. Was still amazing

  • A great show in a beautiful facility

by Bull on 2024-03-08History - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Very enjoyable show with both new and golden oldie songs. Nice new facility with some great mezzanine seating for those who want them. The acoustics could be better, but overall a great show.

  • Great gig, great band

by Guinidonaloco on 2017-11-16MTELUS - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

Even though the opening act (minus the bear) was three bands in one. The Silversuns Pickups gave us our money's worth... With a broken arm !

Just an awesome show! Fantastic Band! Come back!!!

  • by Axel118 on 2017-11-06Union Hall - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

It was at the Union so the sound isn't great. Opening band Minus the Bear were decent, although their songs kind of sounded the same. They had a couple catchy ones though. Silversun Pickups were pretty solid, only on the first song did Brian sound a little rough. But the fact that he was playing with a broken arm was impressive, they overall sounded great and did a three song encore. Overall a good show, I enjoyed it.

  • They delivered

by TeddyKGB on 2017-10-31The Palace Theatre (Formerly Flames Central) - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

First of all Brian played with a broken arm so how rock'n'roll was that! Great show in support of maybe their best album. Sound was good, setlist was perfect, a blend of new and old. Wouldn't change anything.

  • Great!

I don't understand how the Silversuns aren't playing stadiums, but selfishly it's great because it means I still get to see them in fantastic venues like this. The Palace is my new favorite venue in Calgary.

  • Broken arm and still shredding guitar!

Awesome show! I didn't expect his voice to be so awesome live. Definitely will see them again.

  • Silversun Pickups- an energetic & amazing concert

by 123Rose on 2016-08-03The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show!! New songs, old favorites- very interactive with their fans. SSPU put on a fabulous and energetic performance. So glad we were in the audience- great show!!

  • Silversun Pickups were just awesome at the Danfort

by Mikeuoo on 2016-08-02The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I've been waiting to see SSPU for about 3 years and finally got the opportunity last Saturday in Toronto. I flew in from Ottawa and believe me it was well worth the extra expense. They played most of their Better Nature album, which suited me just fine as I believe it is their best so far. They also played Tapedeck for the first time in front of live audience. The highlight for me was Lazy Eye when I truly believe the walls would blow out of the joint. I had tears or awe running down my cheeks. I have to say that Latchkey Kids, Ragamuffin and of course The Wild Kind sealed the deal. A definite 10 on 10 for me. I just can’t wait to see them again!

  • Fantastic Show!

Everything was perfect - clear audio, fantastic lighting. Overall great experience with a great band.

  • Band had great energy, unfortunately

by flymaster on 2016-08-02The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Band had great energy, unfortunately the venue sound mix didn't match. Drums were too loud, guitars and vocals were too low - the end result was a muffled/garbled sound where I was standing at the back of the hall.

Lead singer was wasted. Fairly entertaining but I came to see them play well. He missed notes playing guitar and singing. Have seen them live before so this was disappointing. Especially after I bought my boyfriend a ticket and raved about them.

Pure talent. This band is original, and great in every way. The songwriting is suberb, the vocals outstanding, musicianship excellent and the performance electric. This was a fantastic concert. I love this band!

  • Awesome concert!

by Anonymous on 2010-07-07Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Silversun pickups were great, as expected. This is my second time seeing them live. The first time was when they opened for Muse at the Air Canada Center back in March and they were fantastic there too. The sound quality for this concert wasn't the best, but nothing stops Silversun from shining. Against Me was good too, but The Henry Clay People could have done better. I've seen them opening for The Airborn Toxic Event and they were better there. The only downside of this concert was the crazy moshing pretty much all over, so there was no good place to stand and not be constantly pushed. But I guess for a high energy band like the Silversun Pickups this is to be expected. I would highly recommend this band to anyone and can't wait to see them again.

  • Silversun pickups - excellent show ,excellent band

    by mojave3 on 2010-07-06Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Every song was absolutely fantastic and mindblowing. Highlights were Sort of, Future Foe Scenarios, Lazy Eye but every song was amazing. Their set up was very cool - nothing too showy but a very interesting backdrop and simple yet effective lightshow. My 2nd time seeing them - first was at V-fest a couple of years back - loved them then but they have improved dramatically as a live act. Most impressive. I would go back and see them any day. Opening acts - Henry Clay People - meh!, Against Me! - very good saw them at V-fest too a couple of years back - they keep getting better as well.

  • Great Concert!

by CDubya on 2010-07-04Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great show with very high energy! Other than a few moments of bad sound quality due to the keyboards being turned up WAY too loud for a venue as small as The Sound Academy, the band put on a great performance. The guitar and bass playing was very tight but the drums were being played like it was the band's last performance! Chris was an absolute madman on the skins during the show... When the band first appeared on stage and sang "Growing Old is Getting Old," the lighting effects were fantastic. Having different colors of wash across Brian and Nikki's faces quickly was very trippy and memorable. Despite being over an hour late, the featured opening act Against Me! was very good. The songs off their new album White Crosses weren't as good or well performed as songs off the album New Wave, but there was a good mix of old and new songs. However, The Henry Clay People were terrible and I would recommend avoiding this band in the future.

  • Silversun was AMAZING!!

    by Jay123456 on 2010-07-01Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was at the Silversun Pickups show at the Sound Academy in Toronto and was by far the best concert I've ever been to from start to finish. Against Me started it off great and got the crowd involved. Silversun Pickups started their performance with chart topping hits and ended with Lazy Eye. I'm just bought two tickets to SSPU in Detroit for Friday July 2nd and I'm hoping they might blow the roof off that building too. This concert gets 5/5 and I would recommend seeing SSPU live if you get the chance because Brian the lead singer absolutely kills it from start to finish. Cheers
