  • Awesome rock show!

    by baatman10 on 2010-07-01Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I've missed Silversun Pickups a bunch of times and finally got a chance to see them and I am glad to have done that. I was pretty impressed with the energy they brought, you could definitely feel it with the crowd's excitement. Looking forward to seeing them again.

Awsome Show! Against Me! was awsome and Silversun Pickups were great!

  • by Anonymous on 2010-06-30Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Love the band, but the concert was mediocre. The sound was sub par. I am not a fan of the opening act, Against Me, however they sounded much better that the headliners, making it hard to blame the venue.

Opening bands were good. I think the first band was called "Henry Clay". They were good except the audience cheered loudest for a Tom Petty cover, yet they played a Springsteen song instead?! Against me was awesome. Punk-type music. They got the crowd going... And finally, the Pickups. Mostly playing songs from "Carnavas" and "Swoon", they were on stage for about an hour and a half including an encore. Good energy, Brian interacted with the audience a bit. Brian is so cute, and Nikki looked darling in her blue dress. Bought me-self a $25 tee and I was gone! I would definitely catch these guys again if they ever came back to Toronto. (Except if they were at the ACC... I hate the ACC)

  • SSPU = awesome. Crowd = terrible.

by LaryMow on 2010-06-30Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The crowd had the worst concert etiquette I have ever experienced, which was really surprising considering the band. They hate getting off stage: they only have 2LPs and 1EP and they played for 1.5hrs. Against me! was decent but they need to be who they were a few years ago. Bottom line: SSPUs are amazing live!

  • Performers = amazing, Tech people=awful

by Kgies on 2010-06-30Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The Silversun Pickups were incredible, completely devoted themselves to their event. Their sound person made the keyboards far too loud, and the leader singer too quiet. Not inpressed, considering I paid extra for VIP for this event.

  • Silversun should have better sound

by rmalonda on 2010-06-30Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

I like this band a lot, but i consider the concert very bad organize. The other bands who opened doesn't match silversun in style, for me watching the other bands was painful, i didn't like their music and their sound was 100% better than silversun. Sorry guys, but you have to hire a profesional sound engineer, because your music is amazin but you need the tools to create an impact in your fans.

  • They delivered

by AndrewD on 2010-06-30Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Silversun Pickups put on a performance that would impress even the most casual of listeners. The sound produced by the band was phenomenal. I am always impressed when a band sounds as good live as they do recorded. All the big songs were trotted out along with some of the lesser knowns from their catalogue.

  • Silversun the best

by feener on 2010-06-30Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Silversun just gets better and better each time I see them and I wasn't even a fan until I saw them live!!!

  • Not much more than listening to the CD

by seriousjane on 2010-06-30Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Against Me brought it big but unfortunately Silversuns didn't bring anything more than listening to their CD at home - only louder. The sound system in this venus is really poor, or at least it was for this band - different sound tech required? Since I think this band is quite genius the concert was a disappoint. I won't even get into sight-lines to the stage!

All the bands were amazing! Silversun Pickups sounded really good and energetic. I enjoyed Against Me very much.

  • Awesome!

Words cannot accurately describe how amazing it was.

  • Amazing show!

    by ConcertGOer1988 on 2009-10-24Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert! The band was very tight, they play great together. They sounded just like the CD. I would go see them again, no questions! I found the venue didnt quite match the band, it was far too loud up so close. Silversun Pickups were amazing live!

  • Sounded even better than studio

    by Handle27 on 2009-10-24Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was well worth it. They are incredible. Couldn't believe how well they sounded and it was loud!

Silversun Pickups did an amazing job!! They sound amazing live, and really kept the audience happy. I would recommend seeing them even if you only like one song!

Great show. I've seen these guys a couple of times on this tour and they do not disappoint. Great energy and great chemistry with the crowd.

just a amazing music and I am not a huge fan like my man but it was awesome.

  • Silversun Pickups Awesome; Cage the Elephant SUCKS

by pjane on 2009-10-18Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Silversun Pickups have definitely matured over the past few years. they play a tight gig and their songs sound as great live as they do in the studio -- not many bands these days can say the same thing. Cage the Elephant, on the other hand, are a waste of time/money. They are going to be a one-hit wonder and barely have enough musical talent to find some harmony, let alone rock out. An horse sounds very much like Tegan and Sara inspired duo - am interested to see what it will be like when they tour together. The venue was not so great, either. A half hour line-up outside to get in, and the stage was at the end of a narrow dancefloor. They really need to rethink the layout.

  • Good!

    by Jeff1234 on 2009-10-17Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I thought all of the songs sounded practically the same as the albums! They even played 3 songs for the encore!:D

  • Great night with Silversun Pickups

    by clifford67 on 2009-10-17Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Silversun Pickups did not disappoint, giving their all for the entire set. Lots of energy, great set list and excellent sound. They are a band that is getting the recognition that is well deserved. A unique sound in a time where many bands trying to make it sound the genericly the same.
