  • Singing Christmas Tree

by snarkie on 2011-01-05Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

We hoped to hear more selections from the choir in the singing tree, who seemed to play a background role in spite of the hype surrounding the show.

I thought the Choir was amazing, but there was too much extra stuff. More singing christmas tree, less john cameron entertainment, and les banter between john and Carrie doll, that gave it more a telethon. Emmanual Fonte was amazing!!!

  • Glitter and gold gala 2010

by catluvnfish on 2010-12-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Loved it. Really enjoyed all the numbers. If I could change anything it would be that the singing tree would have sung more and not been overshadowed by the three back up singers. The front stage performers were wonderful, I would have loved to have seen the tree supporting them more as well as having the spot light to them selves for a couple numbers. Overall the evening was a success and something to look forward to next year. Keep up the good work.

A truly amazing show! The best Christmas Show to get you into the Christmas Spirit. The Dancing Santas, the Children's Choir and the Canadian Tenors were the highlights of the show.

I and my friends very much enjoy the Singing Christmas Tree and the true meaning of Christmas, and,the entertainment was awesome--Hope to see more of this!! Only thing I missed was some of the souvenirs.

  • Silent Tree

by stopwatch on 2010-12-23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

The show was very much a John Cameron show. It would have been nice to hear the Singing Christmas Tree, not the soloists singing into mikes so that the choir was totally unheard. We kept waiting to hear the Singing Christmas Tree...it didn't happen. Their lips were moving but all we could hear was the small group who had amplification. Perhaps next year's show should be called "The John Cameron Show and the Silent Christmas Tree"

This was an an amazing performance with incredible, exceptional talent !! WOW! I was brought to tears, the stage was beautifully prepared, the lights and camera work were fantastic and the tree was mezmerizing! Michael John was a pleasure to hear (and watch) Highly recommended!! John Cameron is a genuine, giving, kind and selfless man who dedicated his talents for this great cause!

I was very disappointed that anyone could think that the mess that was presented had anything to do with the real meaning of Christmas. Very slick, very professional, nothing to do with our Saviors birth. Too loud. Not family friendly. Never heard the choir in the Christmas tree over the slick, meaningless arrangements. Never have been so disappointed. Would never recommend it. Thank God at least Santa's Anonymous was helped.

  • Singing Christmas Tree - excellent production

We have been regular attenders and this was a truly enjoyable show. Especially enjoyed the guest that was a previous American Idol - stage and musical quality was exceptional. Would surely recommend to anyone wishing to be brought into the Christms spirit.

The Glitter & Gold Gala was wonderful. The Canadian Tenors were amazing. Although we enjoyed the event, we were disappointed with the lack of JESUS in the show. The signing Christmas Tree originated at the Central Tabernacle Church. We feel the event should have been closer to the original theme by keeping CHRIST in Christmas.

  • Singing Christmas - excellent!

by Anonymous on 2010-12-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

At the beginning the show was jazzy & shallow......I was skeptical, then by 1/2 thru the first half the spirit of Christmas started to show, then the 2nd half was absolutely excellent. Great singing John Cameron, & by guest from Australia.

  • Singing Xmas Tree

by baffsf on 2010-12-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyed this Concert - BUT - was very disappointed not enough of the Xmas Tree Choir itself - far too many solo acts in this Concert - it would be a far superior and more enjoyable experience as a true Christmas Event - to have a few select soloists - and 68% of ONLY the Christmas Tree Choir. At the beginning of this program, the 'Tree Choir' had such a magnificent sound, it gave me goosebumps - I was all set to enjoy the evening 101% - but from thereon mostly solo acts - far too many - John Cameron puts on a great show - but - please John - next year - more Choir and less solo artists.

  • Singing Christmas Tree was Fantastic

by Cheerful on 2010-12-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first experience going to the Singing Christmas Tree and won't be my last! Not only did it put me in the Christmas spirit, the music selection was fantastic and the production was top notch! I wasn't expecting the special guests, they helped give the show the WOW factor. Amazingly talented people in Edmonton with very generous hearts. Thank you to all the performers and crew.

  • Mis-nommer

by meals1987 on 2010-12-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

The performance was mis-named. It should have been called the John Cameron show, with an impressive tree as backup. I was quite disappointed to see the choir not featured. As it was called the singing Christmas tree, I was expecting a choir to sing festive songs. I hardly heard the choir at all, because the music from the band was so loud. Overall the performance was nice, but because I was expecting a choir sing, I was very disappointed in the end. I also felt there was too much talking between songs, so there was not a good flow to the performance.

i ATTENDED AND WAS THINKING THE SINGING CHRISTMAS TREE WOULD BE THE FEATURE OF THE SHOW. A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED AS THEY WERE USED AS BACK-UP TO THIS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND POLISHED PRESENTATION. I would like to see and hear more from the tree in the next show for 2011 .This show was '' JOHN CAMERON with the Singing Christmas Tree.! But overall great entertainment and value for the cause!

  • The Singing Christmas Tree

by Magna on 2010-12-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

We were a bit disappointed over the lack of the actual Choir singing. There were too many acts, we came to see the singing Christmas tree! They also didn't need the group off to the side singing along - we felt that took away from the authenticity of what the show was suppose to be about - ie: THE SINGING CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!!

  • The Singing Christmas Tree

by fiveMs on 2010-12-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The Singing Christmas Tree event took us by surprise. We were expecting a choir performance. We got an incredible show!!! Each of the singers performed with exuberance and showmanship.

This was one of he best shows, if not the best, we have seen at the Jube surpassing many of the musicals we have seen. We will certainly go to see it another year.
