    A blast from the past.

by Nonickname on 2023-04-29History - Toronto

First show back in May 1987 @ the Concert Hall, then another 3 shows there ..last in early 90s. Great memories. This farewell show did not disappoint. I only wish they could have played a show per album to cover all of their material!

    great band, disappointing venue

by Daddo on 2023-04-29History - Toronto

Skinny Puppy absolutely crushed it and the sound at History is darn near perfect. That said, the venue and policy was very disappointing as security was more invasive than i have ever experienced which left most in the crowd feeling violated and unhappy.

    Awesome!

by Pete on 2023-04-29History - Toronto

What a great show! A real blast from the past for me. Been a huge Puppy fan since the early eighties. Saw them a bunch of times back in the day. Always a very theatrical show and this was no exception. Sounded great, looked great and played all the songs I wanted to hear. Played at least one song from every album. If this really is their farewell, I’m so glad I went.

40 Years of Skinny Puppy; my experience seeing the band!

    by professor_griff on 2023-04-29History - Toronto

Also, first time at History..generally seemed like a well laid out venue, ease of mobility, easy to find expensive drinks at the bar, but hard to track down bathrooms at first! 🤷🏻 I’m certainly not a sound pro by any means, but thought the overall venue sound could have been better. The band’s drummer was awesome, but the mid range seemed to be lacking overall; drums & guitar. Vocals were great. The Toronto crowd was pretty into it..took a bit to get warmed up (typical?) but also a mix of OG fans and younger crowd. Visual concept and overall performance was very captivating. The band was genuinely appreciative of the crowd’s response and provided a double encore-which was..awesome!

    The skinny on Skinny Puppy

by Dr. nAsty on 2023-04-29History - Toronto

Skinny Puppy's final tour was excellent. The venue, History, was great. Service and seats were prime. Too bad I couldn't get any Skinny Puppy merch as the line was too long for my liking. All in all the experience was top shelf!

    PUPPY=AWSOME. History venue....slow and difficult

by Jaybick on 2023-04-29History - Toronto

I've seen every Skinny Puppy concert in toronto since 1987, Too Dark Park, both nights. Never, have i had such diffculty getting into the venue or, decided not to get swag because the lineups were so slow. We lined up outside the venue at 7: 30 with the idea that it would take a half hour to get in...max..and see Lead Into Gold open. We got in and saw the last 2 songs of the opening band after being in line for 80 minutes. Swag linup was ridiculous, because the venue staff were next to uninterested in getting the buyers through so, we decided not to buy any product. Again, the Kevins were awesome! But the door staff were almost TRYING to make the entrance to the venue super slow. This is my 2nd, out of 2, bad experience at History. I will avoid this venue at all costs unless its a band i must see.

    Awesome, except for TM

    by Dreamy7 on 2023-04-29History - Toronto

Amazing show. They were on point. The only bad part of the show is having to deal with Ticketmaster. The sooner that ticketmaster can go die in a fire, the better. The world will be far better off without this garbage company and their asinine arbitrary price gouging.

From start to end it was nonstop and they played fantastic. The encores were filled with the classics and the band was engaging too. I’m so glad I didn’t miss this tour.

    Marvelous!

by Yannick on 2023-04-28MTELUS - Montreal

I have been a fan of the band since the 90's and loved their unique genre that influenced other future bands such has Marilyn Manson and so many more/I own their full discography: It is the first time I see them live and I was really impressed wit their theatrical visual effects and how good they sounded live after all these year away from stage. My only regret , not going to see them before!!! Strongly recommend to any alternative music lover!

    Stunning Skinny Puppy

by zepfan on 2014-03-15Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I really enjoyed this show. First time I had seen Skinny Puppy since their heyday @ 1986. The sound was excellent and the vocal well well placed in the mix. Visually this was stunning to watch the multiple video screens and Nivek's custom created a very strong presence to the swirling layers of synthesizers. It seems the band really enjoyed their home town return and sold out appreciative audience was treated to a lengthy encore. I only recognized 3 songs as it has been a while since Skinny Puppy was on the stereo.
