About
SLAVES IN CONCERT:
Former Dance Gavin Dance frontman Jonny Craig launched his new project Slaves in 2014, and the band quickly became a post-hardcore topliner. With their second album generating buzz in early 2015, the band hit road for an extensive US tour and a hotly anticipated stint on the Vans Warped Tour. From Craig’s R&B-inflected, emotional vocals to the band's blistering sonic attack, fans lucky enough to catch Slaves in concert can expect to be rocked to the core -- and then some.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Jonny Craig, a hardcore mainstay best known for his role fronting Emarosa and Dance Gavin Dance, announced in January 2014 that he’d begun writing songs under the moniker Slaves. He put together a band, and in April the nascent lineup hit the ground running with their debut single “The Fire Down Below”. In late spring Slaves hit the road for their first US headlining tour, and in June they released their debut LP Through Art We Are All Equals. Hard-hitting album cuts like “The Upgrade, Pt II” and “Starving for Friends” were well-received by fans and critics alike, earning the band a spot on the 2014 All Stars Tour. In January of 2015 Slaves announced that they were working on their sophomore album, drumming up excitement among ticket buyers for what promises to be another exciting year for the band.
