    Zombie kicked; Seats were HORRID

by Doglaw on 2011-08-05Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

I'm more a Zombie fan than a Slayer one but I was impressed with all 3 bands. Our seats were horrible so we moved to the back of arena. These seats should NOT have been full price.

Rob Zombie is amazing! His stage show is one of the coolest I've ever seen! Right up there with Maiden! Slayer was just METAL!

    Excellent show

by kerb on 2011-08-05Rexall Place - Edmonton

I was surprised to see Exodus open the show, I didn't even know that they would be there. I liked that Rob Zombie was in the middle, it broke up the heaviness of the two thrash bands a bit. Rob Zombie had an awesome stage show and played all the songs that I wanted to hear. He actually played Supercharger Heaven this time, which is one of my favourites. I also liked how he went around the whole arena to meet the crowd up close. Slayer was good overall, although I'm not that big a fan of their music. They had next to nothing for a stage show. I found too that the thrashiness melded in quite a bit so that I didn't always know when one song ended and another began. Being a drummer myself, I was very impressed with theirs(I'm not sure if it's still Dave Lombardo). He was kick-ass and insanely fast. I was impressed that they played my favourite song-Seasons in the Abyss. This concert rocked and my seat location was awesome. The seats themselves in Rexall Place suck.

    Solid Show

by Slayersummerof88 on 2011-08-05Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

Slayer showed that they still put on a solid, tight, and crushing show. They rarely deviate from what put them where they are today. All the old numbers were out, South of Heaven, Angel of Death, Seasons in the Abyss. Several numbers of World Painted Blood were out as well. They are blistering. Background lights and stage was minimal. Good stuff, solid show. I've seen them 6 times from the Commodore to the big venue and never fail to deliver

    Different

by sunnyjim on 2011-08-05Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

Rob Zombie was great but should have been the headliner. At times he almost had too much on stage with all the screens. I love his songs so that made up for it...great, great showman!! I'm old fashioned and liked the Slayer set up of just the band, a wall of Marshalls, lights and smoke...old school. Admittedly I'm not a huge Slayer fan and don't really inderstand the full out assult of playing one note as fast as you can...but, most of the croud did and enjoyed. I didn't know when one song finished and another started but I did buy one of their shirts...it looked the coolest. Fun show none the less.

    Hell on Earth

by AceWeed on 2011-08-04Rexall Place - Edmonton

I haven't seen Zombie since '95 and his show was no doubt mesmerizing... a huge stage show with rock n roll, fire, chicks, and monsters... it can't get much better. Slayer came out and was the complete bare bones minimum! Two walls of marshal amps and blazing guitars.... pure Slayer. They're so old school that they didn't play an encore. hahaha overall it was a great show!

exodus was pretty entertaining for 6 songs.they got the pit started for sure including a failed attempt at the wall of death.slayer sounded so clear & were really good but rob zombie took control of the show tonight.great singalong setlist, good theatrics & lots of dialogue with the crowd.i thought it was a solid event.

Slayer reached into my soul and got my heart pounding. The hard, fast, deep paceof music is probably good for loosening cholesterol from the arteries. Rob Zombies' theatrical performance and dazzling special effects are blazing with real flames flaring to the beat and rythm and several large displays playing scenes of horror movies, lewd and suggestive animation and other clips in a surreal manner. All the speakers are on stage and the audience on the floor got extra special treatment from the smoke machines, glitter dust, balls, and at the end the drummers drumsticks. I had 2nd tier seats and was left wishing I had tickets in front of the stage to enjoy the deep, rich sub sounds.

Amazing thought put into this show!!

by excitedfamily on 2011-08-03Rexall Place - Edmonton

This show was a theatrical event. Much thought was put into every song and what special effects were needed to enhance that specific song. Very entertaining and Rob was very engaging to the audience. A true delight!!

Zombie exhibits sex, violence & freaks of nature

by Puppycake on 2011-08-03Rexall Place - Edmonton

Although well known for his horror movies, Zombie incorporates this onto stage by exposing continuous films of classic horror, serial killers, bizarre cartoons and flashes of his past movies .He is very confident, bold and is a dedicated performer. He strives to impress his audience with his zombie like appearance ,whipping long hair and sexual appeal of dance and unique attire. He always impresses his fans with bazaar props and freaky large creatures. From multiple beach balls, bubbles and unexpected pleasures, his show is highly entertaining and energizing. Don't miss this one..........

    Ripped off

by Cclark on 2011-08-02Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

Zombie put on a great showed but only played about 9 songs. Slayer had simply played, did not put on a show and only played 9 or 10 songs which was very dissapointing. I had seen Zombie play the year before with Alice Cooper. I paid almost half the price for tickets and both bands played twice the amount of songs and put on a much better show. I would still see Zombie again, just wont pay 90 dollars again. I will never see Slayer again. A headlining band needs to play more songs than that if they are making that much off a show.

Was pretty tame and good for the teens i brought. Rob Zombie and Exodus had a great show but i went to see Slayer and was a bit dissapointed with how all the songs mushed into each other. The fact that i paid full price for three tickets when later on they were sold 2 for 1 really ticked me off.
