Originating in Huntington Park, CA in 1981 as a cover band in the head-banging scene, Slayer has become one of the most important metal bands in rock history, commonly referred to in the Big 4 alongside Anthrax, Megadeath and Metallica. Their first two albums, 1983’s Show No Mercy and 1985’s Hell Awaits, were released on Metal Blade Records, before they signed to Rick Rubin’s Def Jam label in 1986. There they released their third album Reign in Blood, which caught mainstream attention and has proved to be a genre-defining thrash metal album, influencing countless bands as well as the subgenres of death metal and black metal. Tom Araya’s shouted vocals and graphic lyrics are thought-provoking and articulate, while their tight musical structures combining hardcore rock’s rhythms and speed metal’s frenzied pace generate fast and aggressive songs, intensified through the use of double bass drumming, and unconventional but engaging guitar riffs. This all-out rock offensive has been wowing ticket holders for over three decades, selling out concerts across the globe. Over the years, Slayer has been nominated for five Grammy awards, most recently 2009’s World Painted Blood, and continues to tour while working on new material.
AMAZING..........................................NOTHING BUT THAT TO SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last chance to see. great show. Fun. Other bands were great too. Budwiser Stage Home of the 16.50 can of beer is not my favorite venue. But the larger stage allowed for more pyrotechnics!
Awesome. 5 bands made this an almost festival-like experience, although wish we could have had more Testament and Anthrax... Slayer's main set was everything you'd expect - very little talking between songs, almost like they wanted to play everything. Enough pyro to let those in the front have a BBQ if they'd wanted. - Highlight - Final 4 songs, Hanneman Angel of Death backdrop and Tom's gonna miss us...
Amazing show and set. First time attending slayer show and Budweiser stage
I enjoyed all the bands. The concert was amazing. I love going to this venue for concerts.
Slaaaayyyyyyeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
Great show, weather was outstanding for the show. All bands performed very well.
Greatest concert ever. Just didn't like the 5pm start time
About the heaviest concert anybody could possibly wish for. If you like this type of music, these are the bands you want to see live!
Awesome as always..... Take care guys and thanks for the great Metal
Slayer is and will always be the greatest thrash band of all time.
Sound was terrible; even in high end custom musician earplugs.
Awesome show.......all bands were great but Slayer kicked ass !!! Very friendly crowd as well....fun fun fun....
This was the perfect way to end their career. Having some of the other greatest bands playing before them and just building to the finale of Slayer, I loved every moment of it. This is a must see tour.
Testament, Behemoth and Anthrax were great to get the crowd into it. Lamb of God absolutely rocked as always; they stole the show in my opinion - best live band I've ever seen. However, that's not to take anything away from Slayer, who put on a hell of a show with pyrotechnics.
Going out on top, Slayer absolutely crushed it. This was my 7th time seeing them, and was one the best shows of theirs I’ve witnessed. Bringing along the Metal Heavyweights of Testament, Behemoth, Anthrax and Lamb of God made the night even greater.
Absolutely thought the show was spectacular from what I saw of it. Hugely disappointed I didn’t get to see Testament as I was still at work when they hit the stage and Behemth just finished upon arrival. However Anthrax, LOG and Slayer were stellar and totally kicked my ass!!!!
This was the 3rd time I had seen Slayer, this was by far the best of the 3 shows. I don't know if it was because it was their last tour, but there was this intensity that never let up, it's was like being pummelled into metal bliss submission. Lamb Of God was right there with Slayer, I loved Blackened By The Cursed Sun. Behemoth was all impressive, Testament and Anthrax put on energetic sets.
\m/ need more metal in wpg ...The show was excellent
Great show with Testament, Behemoth, Anthrax and Lamb of God opening the show. Slayer came out in full force and Tom Araya looked great without his usual Santa beard. Araya's voice was a little rough at times but it certainly didn't affect my enjoyment of the show. If you haven't seen them before, do it while you still can!
