The show was worth every penny. A fantastic show that keeps your attention throughout. Highly recommend. If you are not a fan of dance, you will be after you see this.
Lots of fun, great music and fantastic performances by the dancers.
The cast and crew delivered! Staging, lighting, transitions, energy ... all were superb! Dance from top to bottom. Would see it again in a heartbeat.
The dancers were amazing and the overall show was extremely entertaining. I struggled with the lighting as a lot of it shone out into the audience. It was very tough the eyes.
It was such a treat to see the top 10 dancers from the season. Each of them with their incredible and unique talent.
I have been following this show for years! As a dancer it has always been a dream of mine to be a part of it and seeing it live somehow, made me feel like I was. The show itself was so fun and well put together, thanks to the amazing Mandy Moore. I wish it were longer and lasted all night, I loved it!!
Too much ballet dance and not enough hip hop dance. Not enough excitement.
So you think you can Dance Live was Incredible. We had Great Seats..we were so close we could hear them breathing. A Top Notch Show featuring Amazing Dancers.
The dancers were as fantastic as I thought they would be. Choreography was fabulous and the music was great. The disappointment was in the lighting. The strobe lights were way over powering for the first 4-5 dances I had to close my eyes at times. The lighting also over powered the dancers making them shadows on the stage. It did improve later in the show. I also found it odd not to have a program for the event. Just a simple one like our local theatres provide for each event. Overall, glad I went.
We attended So You Think You Can Dance on Saturday. Unfortunately the venue isn't appropriate for this production. It was impossible to see the dancers below their knees unless you were siting in the front few rows. Given that it was at the Jubilee in Edmonton and a similar location in Vancouver, it should be in Calgary too. Another factor affecting the show were the poor screens. They were very poor quality compared to the Jubilee. It was difficult to see any images on them. Given that this was the only way to see the dancers, this poor quality really affected the enjoyment of the event. Another issue was the overall production. Several times during the show the lights were flashing so brightly, it made watching the show very difficult. Usually watching the screens is helpful but as I mentioned above this possibility was also of low quality. For the show to be top quality it really needs to be a different venue.
Seats were great, organization was spot on; the cast worked hard. The dances were showcased well and the transitions from piece to piece were incredible. The music and dancing were non-stop. The skill level was soooo phenomenal! Would I go see it again? In a heart beat.
Underwhelming. Male dancers were amazing but the rest lacked energy and technique. I didn't see anything that my daughter isn't already doing in her competitive dance numbers at her dance studio. I expected more. What happened to the skill and technique of the audition videos (which we later rewatched). It was lacking tonight.
The show was wonderful but sadly I could only see parts of it. Terrible seating arrangement and paid for top dollar seats. Dancers were amazing and full of energy. Great costumes, great choreography, lots of numbers and lots of variety. I just wish I could have seen it better. Poor choice of venue.
I'm a huge fan of the show and this season was one of my favourites! So when I saw that the tour was coming to Vancouver, I knew I had to go and I'm so glad I did! The show was super entertaining and well paced. If you're a fan of the show, you won't be disappointed.
Not a review, but a REALLY STRONG REQUEST THAT THE 2017 SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE - LIVE TOUR BE SCHEDULED FOR VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA! It's been here several times & it was great! And the Theatre was packed! Please bring it back again. Thanks!!
This show was high octane fabulous. Not a moment to relax, just one fabulous dance after another. Just fantastic. Thank you!
I think this is our third or fourth show (take the kids), and it gets better every year. Pretty much non-stop, top-calibre dancing. This year, I tired not to watch the episode on TV where the judges pick their best dances - cuz I knew I wanted to see the dances 'live' for the first time at the Ottawa event. The NAC was an excellent venue .. better than the CTC.
So much fun to see the top 10 SYTYCD dancers in a high energy performance. All the favourite dances from the 12th season plus more. Highly entertaining for everyone in our group - 15 - 70 years.
This show was amazing! We had excellent seats (but maybe a little too close as we didn't see some of the floor work) and it was incredible.
