  • great show

by cadniummonky on 2010-05-30the venue - vancouverRating: 5 out of 5

First time i saw sonata arctica was when they opened for Dragon force and the crowd loved them. Tried to get an encore but due to time constraints they couldn't. This show they got to play a full set and it was fantastic just like the first time. Some artist get a little boring in the middle of a set but these guys kept it great the whole way through. Powerglove who opened for them was fantastic as usual only got 30mins tho which sucked but fantastic band and show.

  • Fantastic again

Sonata Arctica is always a good concert they love to interact with the fans and the venue bar is such a personal place to watch a show it makes better. If you like their music if you like power metal go see them. The openers powerglove are amazing as well I've seen them 3 times now and they are very entertaining and come right out into the crowd to interact.

  • lots of fun

good show, sonata was awsome, played songs very well and good stage presence. Some tech dificulties at one point with the guitar and took a few minutes to fix, but tony and the rest of the band hung out and entertained the crown and had fun with it, that was pretty cool, most bands would have went off stage and took a break till it was fixed, shows how much they care about putting on a good show. got there to late to see the first band (powerglove) but the second band(mutiny within) was real good, I've gotten there music since and love it, the sound was'nt to great for them but they sound awsome on their cd, definetly worth checking out. Good show overall, sonata was one of the funnest bands ive ever seen.

  • Amazing..Just as Expected

Great show at Venue in Vancouver. After waiting many years to see this band in person, it was well worth it. The guys put on a powerful show but the great thing is you'll enjoy them even if metal isn't your usual forte. With Tony's vocal range, there's no screaming and you can hear every lyric. Elias is the Finnish Jimny Page when it comes to guitar riffs and you're in for a treat when you see Hendrik play the keytar..especially when he battles with Elias on an intricate solo. These guys are further proof that the Euro bands really know how to entertain. Now, if only our local acts would rediscover music and try to get back on the path.

  • Sonata Arctica was incredible!!!!!!!!

by veryconfused on 2010-04-22Republik - CALGARYRating: 5 out of 5

Started amazing and ended better! The opening bands were fantastic and a great way to start off the night. Having been a fan of Sonata Arctica for years I was thrilled to have had the chance to see them in concert. I was expecting a great performance from Sonata Arctica but was still blown away!

  • Sonata was good, but not as great as before

by Barton on 2010-04-20The Starlite Room - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Sonata Arctica is among my favorite bands of all time. Their music is great and I will continue seeing them every time they come to Edmonton. However, this last concert left me feeling wanting. The song selection was not the strongest Sonata has had, with most of the highlight songs being from previous albums (not that the current one is not without great songs). Also, the opening band Power Glove turned out to be more entertaining and well received than Mutiny Within (I felt bad for those guys, they had a good sound, but the crowd wasn't into it). All in all it was good seeing Sonata again. They have an energy and a presence on stage that cannot be described, and I always look forward to next time with them.

  • Sonata Arctica, another amazing show!

by Fionivar on 2010-04-18The Starlite Room - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I can only hope Sonata Arctica continues to tour as they are bound to increase their fan base considerably due to their live shows. This was probably the most energetic, amazing show yet!

  • Sonata was beyond belief

Those men are performers, through and through. While they are all amazingly talented musicians, they also have a lot of fun and don't take themselves too seriously.

  • Awesome night

I had so much fun rocking out last night, Powerglove was hilarious and Sonata was just plain epic. :)
