This was our first time out to Spruce Meadows...it was a fantastic experience. The seats with the backs we reserved were very good. Overall a very enjoyable experience. There was lots to see for the day... the evening was exeptional.. the fireworks were awesome.. Leaving the parking lot...not so much fun.. Very unorganized..

Beautiful venue, friendly, horse people and novices, weather perfect and Canada's Eric Lamaze & his horse Hicksted won. What more could you ask for?

    Spruce Meadows was pretty great

by Paulam on 2011-09-13Spruce Meadows - Calgary

Loved watching the show jumping, however, this year the shopping in the Equi-Fair was highly disappointing. The Equi-Fair is one of the main reasons I travel to Calgary every year, lots of long term vendors seemed to be missing and there seemed to be a lot of empty booths. We arrived at our seats to find another family occupying them, had to ask them to move. People should only sit in the seats which they purchased. If you want seats in the covered area, purchase them.

    Spruce Meadows - Fabulous

    by suzie780 on 2011-09-13Spruce Meadows - Calgary

This is my 5th tie of attending this event. Event was overall very enjoyable. A lack of HEALTHY food choices, deep fried food and sandwiches not to my liking. Ending the competition with the RCMP musical ride was a really good idea. Encouraged people to stay later. However, parking OMG 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot unacceptable. Please do something about it for next year. Also, seemed to be a lack of entertainment this year! what happened to the different countries entertaining the crowds with music, singing, food etc.

    Spruce Meadows

by FoxyCanuck on 2011-09-13Spruce Meadows - Calgary

What a great event right at our doorstep! Seats were great under the cover as it was gloriously HOT! Two sad points, ladies bathroom line ups were horrible! Take note - add more ladies stall's :) and shopping was horrible as well. Not enough equine tack - yes, I came away a little richer.

I enjoyed the 2 days. I would recommend it. Also for a family on a budget this is an awesome event - free shuttle service. If you bring a lunch it can be a very inexpensive day! Way to go for keeping the price low.

    BMO Masters

by Whale on 2011-09-12Spruce Meadows - Calgary

The four of us had a wonderful time and enjoyed the sights and of course the show jumping. The only drawback were the bench seats in the west stands, but the sight lines were good and we enjoyed all the events during the day. We also enjoyed the different foods to buy and had a great time walking the grounds. Parking was excellent as well, and realized that all aspects of the Spruce Meadows experience was awesome! It is a well-oiled machine. Thanks for the memories!

    Spruce Meadows National

    by Dubi0033 on 2011-06-14Spruce Meadows - Calgary

We attending the final day of competition for the Double Slalom and the Derby. Both events are spectacular....the weather coopearted for the most part....wish there was more Spruce Meadows memoriable items to purchase found it to be very selective and non existence....the halp time show between the two competitions was very good as well...the eight horse was truly breathe taking...there was the explanation of the jumps for the Derby which I found to be very lengthy....but overall I truly enjoyed the day...thanks for putting on such great shows....

    Spruce Meadows Extravaganza!!!!!

    by Corey4642 on 2010-10-05Spruce Meadows - Calgary

It was AMAZING! So much so that i have convinced my parents to join us for next years event! There is SO much to do and see at Spruce Meadows, it never stops! The horse jumping is incredible to see live, and afterwards you can explore the grounds which are quite extensive. They have an abundance of food, shows, shopping, everything you could want between (and even during) jumping shows. It really is a must see, and the riders themselves stroll the grounds between their rounds!

    I love Spruce!

by Anonymous on 2010-09-20Spruce Meadows - Calgary

What's not to love at Spruce Meadows! Amazing shopping (although the second Equiplex is a little like the PNE), and world-class show-jumping! The parking lot for motorhomes is directly across from the grounds and has a security guard on site. The only thing that they could improve would be the food. Prices are high and everything closes up at six o'clock so, if you are staying on the grounds, there is only one not so pub-like pub open. Everyone who works or volunteers at Spruce is very friendly and helpful and the vendors are wonderful!

    THE SHOW

by Tooney on 2010-09-16Spruce Meadows - Calgary

The show on Sat. & Sun. was terrific in spite of the weather and this is evident by the size of the crowds, however, with the increase in attendance the grandstand seatings are not intended for overcrowding. It gets exasperating when you have to sit for 2 - 3 hrs. with someones knees in your back and the continuous standing up to allow people to go back & forth to their seats. In future better seating will have to be considered. The improvements to the grounds ie pavillions and boulevards was most effective and you must be commended for the cleaniliness of the restrooms.

    Excellent day of show jumping!

by Wexford on 2010-09-15Spruce Meadows - Calgary

Always a great day watching the best in the show jumping world. Especially good as it is an international event. Spruce Meadows has a first class facility which provides something for everyone interested in horses. Beautifully clean grounds with decent food kiosks....no McDonalds in sight!! Well done.

    Great Day at Spruce Meadows

    by Fan73 on 2010-09-15Spruce Meadows - Calgary

We have enjoyed our annual day at the Masters for many years. This year was unique because it was so cold and rainy! More food outlets would be appreciated as the line-ups were very long. Perhaps prepared foods would help to move the lines faster. Also signage could be improved at various venues and buildings. A 'where to find' map would be helpful. We did not find a list of horses and riders to follow and mark the times on. The glassed in enclosures near the food outlets where great but could use more tables for 2 and chairs. The Red Arrow Bus ride from the LRT to Spruce Meadows is hugely appreciated. Large visible signs to designate lines for LRT buses and parking lot buses would help. It was a great day despite the weather! Thank you.

    Spruce Meadows excells once again

by Irishgorman on 2010-09-14Spruce Meadows - Calgary

The competions were again superb, courses were challenging and of couse the horses and riders were highly competetive. Of our entire experience, the major issue we had was every time we left our reserved seating, we were forced to ask people to leave our seats as security was nowhere as tight as in previous years. If not for this we would have rated our experience as amazing.
